Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing the TANDUR-type quantum learning model assisted by Educandy media on the English vocabulary mastery of fifth-grade students at SDN 2 Sindangkasih, Purwakarta Regency. The method used was a quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group design. The sample used in this study consisted of fifth-grade Class V-B as the experimental class, comprising 25 students, and fifth-grade Class V-A as the control class, comprising 25 students. The data collection technique used was purposive sampling. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the TANDUR-type quantum learning model assisted by the Educandy media had a 56.9% effect on English vocabulary mastery. The experimental class achieved an N-Gain score of 0.5680, which falls into the moderate category. Meanwhile, the control class achieved an N-Gain score of 0.3766, which falls into the low category. The difference in scores between the two classes indicates that the implementation of the TANDUR-type quantum learning model supported by the Educandy media is more effective in improving students’ English vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low reading comprehension skills of fourth-grade elementary school students, particularly their difficulty in grasping the content of texts, which is attributed to teaching methods that remain teacher-centered and the lack of innovative media. This study aims to determine the effect of implementing the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model assisted by the Let's Read media on students' reading comprehension skills, and to compare the improvement in reading comprehension between students who received the CIRC model assisted by Let's Read and those who received the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) model. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method and a non-equivalent control group design. The study population consisted of all fourth-grade students at SDN 2 Nagri Kaler, with a sample of 40 students divided into an experimental class and a control class. The results indicate that the implementation of the CIRC model supported by the Let's Read media has a significant effect on students' reading comprehension skills, with a contribution of 54.8% based on the coefficient of determination test. Thus, the CIRC learning model supported by the Let's Read media is effective in improving the reading comprehension skills of elementary school students.

Abstract

This study was motivated by students’ low reading comprehension skills, particularly in analyzing the deeper intrinsic elements of a story, as well as their reliance on learning resources that lack interactivity. This study aims to determine the effect of and improvement in students’ reading comprehension skills through the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model supported by the BUDI media. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design involving 40 fifth-grade students at an elementary school in Purwakarta Regency, with the experimental and control classes each consisting of 20 students. Data collection instruments consisted of an essay test and an observation sheet. The results showed that the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model supported by BUDI significantly improved students’ reading comprehension, as evidenced by a higher post-test average score (90.25) for the experimental class compared to the control class (78.25). The contribution of the effect was 44.7%, and the increase in N-Gain was 69% for the experimental class compared to 33% for the control class. Thus, the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model supported by the BUDI media proved to be more effective in improving the reading comprehension of elementary school students compared to the STAD model.
