Abstract

This study aims to develop a valid, practical, and effective digital interactive Islamic education coursebook at Universitas Khairun using the ADDIE development model. The research process began with a needs analysis which indicated that students required a coursebook with simplified content divided into seven main topics. The design phase involved determining the topics, collecting references, creating a matrix, and organizing learning objectives. The developed coursebook underwent two validation steps: expert evaluation and product testing. Expert validation results showed an average score of 3.37, while product testing revealed an increase in pre-test scores from 70.00 to 81.04, a difference of 16.23%. Practicality assessment of the coursebook revealed that 95.07% of respondents rated it as “practical”. Additionally, the effectiveness of the coursebook was demonstrated by a 16.44% increase in the average pre-test and post-test scores of students. These findings indicate that the developed digital Islamic education coursebook meets the criteria for validity, practicality, and effectiveness, making it an effective learning resource at Khairun University

Abstract

Education in Indonesia has undergone significant changes throughout its history, influenced by various social, political, and cultural factors in each period. During the colonial era, the education system in Indonesia was designed to maintain colonial power, with a discriminatory structure that provided access to education only for the elite and a small number of indigenous people considered suitable for supporting colonial administration. However, educational figures such as Ki Hajar Dewantara sought to introduce a more inclusive education system based on local culture through the establishment of Taman Siswa. After Indonesia’s independence in 1945, the education system faced significant challenges, with the primary focus being on equalizing access to education and shaping the national character that accommodates social and cultural diversity. During the New Order period, the implementation of the nine-year compulsory education policy successfully increased access to education, yet it was still influenced by the goal of political stability and economic development driven by the authoritarian government. Following the 1998 Reformation, Indonesia introduced decentralization policies, granting local governments more autonomy in managing education, although disparities in education quality between urban and rural areas remain a major challenge. Additionally, in the era of globalization, Indonesian education faces new challenges in creating a more inclusive, high-quality, and relevant education system that meets current social and economic needs. Therefore, understanding the evolution of Indonesia's education system is essential not only to identify policy changes but also to explore the role of education in shaping national identity and supporting national development.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the characterization of the non-formal education unit model at the Al-Fatih Playgroup (KB) Makassar, which integrates Islamic values into the early childhood learning process. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results show that KB Al-Fatih implements the Independent Curriculum with a center and project approach combined with the instillation of Qur'anic character. Educators with S1 PAUD qualifications, adequate facilities and infrastructure, and a conducive learning environment support children's holistic development. The collaboratively designed learning program, based on initial assessments, has proven effective in shaping children's religious character, independence, and social skills. These findings reinforce the importance of integrating spiritual values in the non-formal early childhood education model

Abstract

ABSTRACT Data-Based Planning (DBP) has been promoted as a new standard for effective school management, promising efficiency and quality improvement through evidence-based decision-making. In Indonesia, this policy has been formalized through platforms such as the Education Report Card (Rapor Pendidikan), which is integrated with school budgeting systems (ARKAS). However, there remains a significant gap between the ideal expectations of DBP and the realities of its implementation in schools, where DBP is often perceived merely as an administrative burden. This article aims to critically analyze this dualism by mapping the efficiency expectations promised by DBP, identifying fundamental implementation challenges, and examining the gap between expectations and realities. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a literature review method, analyzing secondary data from journals and research reports. The findings reveal that DBP theoretically offers managerial efficiency (targeted budget allocation), academic efficiency (precise quality interventions), and accountability efficiency (fact-based transparency). However, real-world implementation shows three major barriers: (1) low data literacy among school personnel, leading to a "data-rich, information-poor" phenomenon; (2) organizational cultures dominated by administrative compliance and blame culture; and (3) the absence of school principals' leadership as effective “data translators.” The gap analysis concludes that DBP failures stem not from conceptual weaknesses but from implementation issues, including (a) the emergence of an "efficiency paradox" where DBP creates new administrative burdens; (b) policy misdiagnosis that treats DBP as a technical problem (application usage) rather than an adaptive challenge (cultural and mindset change); and (c) the breakdown of the DBP logic chain at the crucial stage of root-cause analysis. The success of DBP in the future depends on shifting the focus from digital platform sophistication to investment in human capacity (data literacy) and supportive managerial leadership. Abstract

Abstract

Inclusive education represents an effort to provide equal learning opportunities for all children, including those with special needs; however, its implementation at the elementary school level still faces various challenges such as limited facilities, insufficient teaching staff, and a lack of environmental support. This study aims to describe the implementation of inclusive education at UPT SPF SD Negeri Unggulan Mongisidi I, covering aspects of school policy, learning implementation, the roles of teachers and parents, as well as the challenges encountered. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, the findings indicate that the school has implemented inclusive education policies effectively through the application of equality principles, a modified curriculum, and collaboration among teachers, the principal, and parents. The school has also provided several supporting facilities such as ramps and simple learning aids, although there remain limitations in human resources and physical infrastructure. Regular evaluations are carried out to assess student progress and learning effectiveness. In conclusion, the implementation of inclusive education at SD Negeri Unggulan Mongisidi I reflects a strong commitment to creating a fair, inclusive, and friendly learning environment for all students.
