Abstract

This study aims to analyze the interest of the community in Kelurahan Mendahara Ilir in using Sharia-based mobile banking services, as well as the factors influencing it. In the digital era, Sharia mobile banking serves as a modern financial solution aligned with Islamic principles; however, its adoption rate remains low in this region. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the main barriers to using Sharia mobile banking include low digital literacy, limited internet access, and concerns about service security. Internal factors such as technological understanding and religious motivation, along with external factors like social support and education from financial institutions, also influence community interest. The study recommends the implementation of contextual, collaborative, and sustainable educational strategies to enhance the adoption of Sharia financial technology and promote financial inclusion in coastal areas

Abstract

This study examines the practice of buying and selling cemetery land in Bandar Jaya Village, Rantau Rasau District, from an Islamic legal perspective. The focus of the study includes analyzing the transaction's compliance with the principles of Sharia muamalah (Islamic transactions), particularly regarding ownership, fair pricing, and the prohibition of exploitation. The research method employed descriptive qualitative methods, with data collection techniques including observation, in-depth interviews with religious leaders, local government officials, and community participants, as well as the study of related documents. The results indicate that the practice of buying and selling cemetery land in the study area is essentially permissible in Islam as long as it meets the following requirements: (1) certainty of land ownership (free from gharar), (2) a reasonable price agreement without any element of coercion, and (3) the land's use according to its function as a cemetery. However, several problems were identified, such as not everyone being able to pay the full fees and the potential for exploitation of bereaved families. This study recommends the need for socialization of Islamic law regarding cemetery land transactions and the strengthening of Sharia-based local regulations to ensure the principles of justice and the public interest.

Abstract

Background: The extract of senggani leaves (Melastoma malabathricum) has attracted attention as a potential anti-inflammatory agent due to its diverse phytochemical content, including flavonoids, tannins, and other polyphenols, which have been shown to possess antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities in several previous studies. This study aims to determine the difference in the percentage of inflammation inhibition of paw edema in rats induced by carrageenan through the administration of senggani leaves extract. Methods: In this study, 24 rats were divided into 4 groups. Negative control group was given Na-CMC 0.5%, Positive control group was given Na-diclofenac 50 mg/kg BW. Two dosage groups were given senggani extract solution at 250 and 500 mg/kg BW. Carrageenan is used to induce local inflammation by injecting a 2% carrageenan solution in physiological NaCl subcutaneously into the subplantar region of all test animal groups to elicit an edema response. Paw thickness is measured using calipers at hour 0 before inflammation induction, followed by measurements at hours 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Results: The peak inhibitory effect (62.10% and 60.41%) for both doses of senggani extract was observed at the 3rd hour, suggesting a rapid onset of action. At the higher dose (500 mg/kg BW), senggani extract exhibited comparable or even slightly superior inhibitory effects to Na-diclofenac. Conclusion: Senggani extract has potential as a natural anti-edema agent. Further research is needed to explore its mechanism of action and optimize its therapeutic use.

Abstract

Grocery businesses represent a popular form of entrepreneurship within communities due to their easy accessibility, stable market demand, and relatively affordable capital requirements. Amidst the intense competition in the retail sector, service quality and the application of business ethics are critical to success. This study aims to evaluate the service quality of April Grocery Store in Kota Baru Village through the lens of Islamic business ethics, encompassing principles such as honesty (ṣidq), trustworthiness (amānah), justice (ʿadl), and excellence (iḥsān). Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the store owner, employees, and customers. The findings indicate that although ethical values have been incorporated into sales interactions and service practices, challenges remain in operational aspects, including the absence of standardized service procedures, infrastructural limitations, and suboptimal adaptation to the needs of modern consumers. The study concludes that integrating Islamic ethical values with professional service management can enhance customer satisfaction and support the sustainability of small-scale enterprises in a competitive market environment.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the world's largest agrarian countries, with abundant agricultural and plantation outputs. Among its leading commodities, coconut holds a strategic role in both national and regional economies. However, the substantial volume of coconut shell waste is often underutilized. This study aims to explore the processing of coconut shell waste into high-value charcoal in Lagan Tengah Village and to analyze the production process, technical challenges, market potential, and its impact on community economic empowerment. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through field observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The findings reveal that local business initiatives, such as “Jan Rahayu Lestari,” have succeeded in producing high-quality charcoal with a fixed carbon content of approximately 75%, low moisture levels, and long burn duration. The simple pyrolysis technology employed proves to be both effective and appropriate for the local community's capacity. This initiative not only generates alternative income for farmers and housewives but also mitigates environmental pollution caused by open burning. The study affirms that the integration of local knowledge with cross-sectoral support can transform agricultural waste management into a replicable, inclusive, and sustainable model for rural economic development. These findings are relevant for the formulation of policies related to green economy, renewable energy, and the strengthening of micro-industries based on local resources

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to examine the practice of areca nut trading on credit that takes place in Dusun Selamat, Lagan Tengah Village, Geragai Subdistrict, East Tanjung Jabung Regency, and to assess its conformity with Islamic law. Methodology: This research employs a qualitative method using a case study approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation to explore the real-life practices of credit-based areca nut transactions between farmers and buyers (middlemen). Main Findings: The findings show that the credit-based areca nut trading practice in Dusun Selamat fulfills the essential pillars and requirements of sale and purchase in Islam. These include mutual consent (antaradin minkum), clarity regarding the object and price, and the absence of coercion or fraud. Moreover, this practice benefits both parties, particularly in supporting farmers' economic needs. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study provides a contextual analysis of a localized credit-based trade practice in rural Indonesia and offers an Islamic legal perspective that has not been widely documented in previous literature. It contributes original insights into how Islamic principles are applied in informal agricultural transactions and highlights the permissibility (mubah) of such practices when grounded in justice, transparency, and mutual satisfaction.

Abstract

Staphylococcus Aureus is a gram-positive bacteria that can cause infection. One of the plants that has antibacterial activity is jatropha leaves which contain flavonoids, saponins, tannins, alkaloids, steroids, and polyphenols. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of ethanol extract and ethyl acetate fraction with concentrations of 30%, 60% and 100% against staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The method for extracting jatropha leaves is maceration with 96% ethanol solvent and the fractionation method, namely liquid-liquid fractionation with ethyl acetate solvent. Antibacterial activity test was carried out in vitro with the disc diffusion method and compared the mean zone of inhibition of each treatment with a positive control (gentamicin 10 µg). The results showed that the ethanol extract and ethyl acetate fraction of jatropha leaves had a strong resistance response, while the positive control gave a very strong inhibitory response to the growth of staphylococcus aureu bacteria. Based on the one way ANOVA test, ethanol extract and ethyl acetate fraction showed a significant difference from each treatment (P = ˂0.05). The conclusion of this study is that the ethanol extract of Jatropha leaves can inhibit the growth of staphylococcus aureus bacteria at a concentration of 100% (18.28 ± 0.50mm), 100% concentration of ethyl acetate fraction (15.10 ± 0.12mm). The ethanol extract provided the best inhibition power, namely 18.28 ± 0.50mm and a positive control 21.82 ± 0.092mm
