AbstractThe current era of the industrial revolution 4.0 is increasingly sophisticated which is characterized by the rapid development of technology and information in all aspects of the field. In responding to the industrial revolution 4.0 era, literacy skills taught since elementary school are aimed at building a superior generation, where technology and information become more sophisticated. This article discusses Reading Speed Effectiveness (RSE) in improving literacy culture in Elementary Schools. The ability to read is the main capital in personal life, especially in the school environment. In school life, reading ability is very necessary, because if students do not have adequate reading skills, especially in fast reading, these students will experience difficulties in learning, because speed reading is very beneficial for readers to read a discourse with minimal time and balanced with maximum content comprehension. Speed reading is a combination of speed reading skills with the ability to reading comprehension.AbstrakEra revolusi industri 4.0 saat ini sudah semakin canggih yang ditandai dengan perkembangan pesat  teknologi dan informasi  di segala aspek bidang. Abstract

Many students need to learn the letters correctly, often make mistakes in distinguishing letters that are almost similar in shape, have difficulty, and are not fluent in reading. For this reason, teachers need to develop learning media that can attract students' interest, are practical to use, digital-based, and are by student characteristics and technological developments so that learning to read becomes fun. This study aimed to develop digital Flash Card media in early reading learning in elementary schools. The subjects in this study were first-grade students, totaling 30 students. The research method used is the method of research and development or Research and Development (R&D). Data collection was carried out through interviews, questionnaires, and observation. The collected data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. The results showed that the validation test for digital Flash Card media products by material experts was 87% in a very valid category. The assessment by media experts is 90% with a very valid category, and an evaluation by linguists is 89% with a very valid type. Furthermore, the results of observing trials using digital Flash Card media on a large scale for elementary school students obtained an average of 87.7% in the practical category. It was concluded that the development of digital Flash Card media met the valid, helpful, and effective criteria for learning to read in elementary schools.

Abstract

In the learning process, students often encounter various obstacles. One common challenge is their difficulty in understanding the material presented by teachers, especially when the explanations are too abstract. To address this issue, appropriate instructional media are needed to help achieve learning objectives. The use of such media can support teachers in delivering content more effectively. As science and technology continue to evolve, instructional media must also adapt to create a learning environment that aligns with current developments. One form of media that can be utilized is educational video. This study aims to explore the use of video media in delivering instructional content. The method used is a literature review of previous research findings. The results indicate that video-based learning media can serve as an effective tool for teachers to present learning materials in a more engaging and comprehensible way.

Abstract

The literacy level of primary school-age children in Indonesia is still relatively low, which has an impact on children's academic ability and cognitive development. This study aims to identify and analyze the factors that influence the lack of literacy in primary school-age children. The method used was literature study and field observation with a qualitative approach. The results show that low literacy is caused by several main factors, namely the lack of reading habits at home, limited facilities and interesting reading materials, less varied learning methods, and the minimal role of teachers and parents in fostering interest in reading. In addition, the influence of technological developments also plays a role in diverting children's attention from reading activities. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of collaboration between schools, families and communities in creating an environment that supports an early literacy culture.

Abstract

This study examines how digital technology can help boost elementary school students’ interest in learning the Indonesian language. As technology continues to influence the way education is delivered, incorporating digital tools into the classroom has become increasingly important. The study examines how interactive learning techniques, including educational games, digital storytelling, and multimedia presentations, can enhance the engagement and enjoyment of language learning for elementary students. A qualitative descriptive methodology was used, with data collected through interviews with both teachers and students, classroom observations, and the review of relevant documents. The results indicate that digital technology significantly contributes to increasing students' motivation, participation, and curiosity. Interactive digital tools foster a more lively and enjoyable learning atmosphere, making it easier for students to grasp and relate to the content. Teachers also reported that students became more active during lessons and demonstrated improved comprehension and vocabulary usage. The study concludes that integrating digital technology into Indonesian language lessons can shift traditional teaching methods toward more student-centered and engaging learning. It is recommended that schools invest in proper digital infrastructure and provide training for teachers to fully benefit from interactive learning approaches

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of reading habits at home on elementary school students' reading comprehension skills using a literature review approach methodology (library research). Reading comprehension skills are a significant factor in learning activities, and early reading habits in the family environment are considered to have a great influence in improving them. Based on the results of studies from various literature sources, it was found that students who regularly carry out reading activities at home tend to have better levels of reading comprehension, more vocabulary, and higher reading interest compared to students who do not have these habits. Many influencing factors such as parental involvement, variety and availability of reading materials, and special time for reading at home, foster this influence. Thus, improving reading culture at home is an important strategy to support the literacy success of elementary school students.
