Abstract

This study analyzes mathematics teachers' perceptions of the implementation of a Project-Based Learning curriculum at SMP Negeri 11 in Bengkulu City. The transformation of the learning paradigm from teacher-centered to student-centered through Project-Based Learning (PBL) requires significant adaptation from educators. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and documentation analysis with one seventh-grade mathematics teacher. Findings indicate that the school has not provided formal training on Project-Based Learning (PBL), but teachers have participated in independent training through webinars and the MGMP forum. Teachers have positive perceptions of the project-based curriculum implementation because it increases students' learning interest, critical thinking skills, and collaboration skills. Implementation has not been comprehensive across all materials due to limited time, resources, and supporting facilities. The project-based curriculum has a positive impact on student motivation and engagement, although individual participation varies. The study recommends the need for systematic and ongoing training support to optimize the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PBL) in mathematics learning.

Abstract

Modul disusun sesuai tahapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning.

Abstract

The use of ethnomathematics puzzle games as a means of educational mathematics learning that is implemented in learning not only conveys material, but can also raise potential and culture. One of the materials implemented in the ethnomathematics puzzle game is flat geometric shapes. This research aims to develop learning media for an Android-based ethnomathematics puzzle game on flat geometric material. The method used is research and development with a 4-D development model. This research was conducted at a public junior high school in Pesawaran Regency, Lampung with a total of 183 subjects. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and tests. Data analysis used in this research uses descriptive analysis. Based on the data analysis carried out, the average product validation score for media experts was 81.0 and material experts 81.0 in the valid category. The product developed is also relatively practical, the average score of 44.5 is in the very good category. The product developed was measured using posttest and pretest scores in the experimental class and control class with an average score of 58.92 for the experimental class and 9.40 for the control class based on N-Gain Score analysis, so the ethnomathematics puzzle game is quite effective for learning.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines teachers’ readiness, usage patterns, perceived benefits, barriers, and professional development needs related to integrating Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) into educational practice. A quantitative descriptive exploratory survey design was employed. Data were collected via online questionnaires from 80 teachers across multiple educational levels (early childhood to vocational secondary) in Bengkulu. Descriptive statistics and thematic analysis were used to analyse the data. Teachers reported high functional readiness and positive perceptions of Gen AI, particularly for lesson planning and content development, while its application for learning analytics and reflective pedagogical inquiry remained limited. The most significant barriers were lack of training and unclear school policies, whereas teachers did not view Gen AI as a threat to their professional role. Key professional development needs included practical training, ethical guidance, curriculum integration, and peer communities. The study provides empirical evidence on teachers actual pedagogical workflows in a developing‑country context, distinguishing functional readiness from conceptual literacy. Findings offer a clear agenda for policy development and teacher professional learning programmes. The research advances understanding of Gen AI integration in resource‑constrained settings and provides an evidence base for pedagogically grounded, ethically responsible AI adoption in education.
