Abstract

Minangkabau merupakan salah satu masyarakat adat yang masih mempertahankan sistem nilai berbasis kearifan lokal. Salah satu nilai adat yang mengatur tata krama perempuan adalah Sumbang Duo Baleh, yaitu dua belas bentuk perilaku yang dianggap menyimpang dari norma adat. Di era globalisasi, nilai-nilai ini mengalami degradasi, khususnya pada generasi milenial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji makna, relevansi, serta tantangan implementasi nilai Sumbang Duo Baleh dalam kehidupan generasi muda Minangkabau masa kini. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dan studi literatur, artikel ini menemukan bahwa ketiga bentuk sumbang yakni sumbang kato, sumbang pakai, dan sumbang bagaua adalah yang paling terpengaruh oleh modernisasi. Upaya revitalisasi nilai adat diperlukan untuk menjaga identitas budaya Minangkabau secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the socio-economic conditions of the Sungai Aur District community, the majority of whose population relies on independent oil palm plantations as their main source of livelihood. The approach used is descriptive qualitative, with a primary focus on aspects such as the level of education in the family, the health of family members, and the income of the head of the family. The data collected consists of primary and secondary data, with sources of information coming from informants who have competence in their fields, including the Jorong Head and staff related to the research issue, the principal, several teachers, and local community leaders. Data collection methods include direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using an interactive model developed by Miles and Huberman.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to develop and evaluate an entrepreneurship-based curriculum aligned with the Freedom to Learn (Merdeka Belajar) initiative at State Madrasah Aliyah in Bukittinggi, Indonesia. Recognizing the necessity of equipping students with entrepreneurial skills, creativity, and self-reliance, this research addresses the critical gap between traditional Islamic education and modern labor market demands Design/methods/approach – A qualitative case-study approach, complemented by quantitative analysis, was utilized. Data collection involved purposive sampling, participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, document analysis, and closed-ended questionnaires. Participants included school leaders, teachers, students, alumni, and parents. Qualitative data were analyzed thematically, while quantitative data provided descriptive statistics to strengthen findings. Findings – The integration of experiential learning and project-based entrepreneurship significantly enhanced students’ practical business skills, creativity, problem-solving ability, and interpersonal competencies. The curriculum explicitly incorporates principles of student autonomy and flexible learning, central to Indonesia’s Freedom to Learn (Merdeka Belajar) initiative. However, substantial challenges were identified, including inadequate infrastructure, limited funding, a shortage of qualified teachers, and societal resistance rooted in traditional perceptions of madrasahs as purely religious institutions. Student questionnaire results indicated positive perceptions of the curriculum’s effectiveness (mean score > 4.2 out of 5). Research implications – Findings provide actionable insights for policymakers, educators, and administrators seeking to implement effective entrepreneurship curricula. Strategic interventions such as enhanced teacher training, structured mentoring, and robust industry collaboration are recommended to address implementation barriers, preparing students for real-world economic challenges and ultimately fostering socio-economic growth and community development.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas dinamika pertanian rakyat di Kabupaten Solok dengan fokus pada tanaman markisa sepanjang kurun waktu 1990 hingga 2022. Terdapat tiga rumusan masalah utama yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini: (1) bagaimana perkembangan sektor pertanian di Kabupaten Solok, (2) bagaimana dinamika penanaman markisa di daerah tersebut, dan (3) mengapa petani tidak lagi menjadikan markisa sebagai tanaman utama. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode sejarah dengan pendekatan kualitatif, mencakup studi pustaka, wawancara mendalam, dan observasi lapangan di beberapa kecamatan sentra markisa, yakni Lembah Gumanti, Danau Kembar, Lembang Jaya, dan Gunung Talang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sektor pertanian Kabupaten Solok mengalami perkembangan yang cukup signifikan sejak era Orde Baru, ditandai dengan intervensi negara dan berkembangnya tanaman hortikultura. Markisa sempat menjadi primadona di kalangan petani karena kemudahan perawatan dan hasil ekonomi yang menjanjikan. Namun sejak awal 2000-an, tanaman ini mulai ditinggalkan. Faktor penyebabnya antara lain: perubahan struktur pasar, minimnya dukungan negara, serangan hama, serta munculnya tanaman hortikultura lain yang lebih cepat menghasilkan dan sesuai dengan orientasi pasar. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keputusan petani untuk meninggalkan markisa bukanlah semata-mata karena keinginan pribadi, melainkan sebagai bentuk respons terhadap dinamika ekonomi dan perubahan struktural yang lebih luas. Dengan demikian, pengalaman petani markisa di Kabupaten Solok mencerminkan kerentanan sekaligus resiliensi petani dalam menghadapi perubahan ekonomi dan kebijakan agraria di tingkat lokal maupun nasional.
