Abstract

Premature Rupture of Membranes (PROM) is rupture of membranes more than one hour before onset of labor. One of the complications caused by PROM is asphyxia. The longer the rupture of the membranes the greater the risk of fetal distress. By the rupture of the membranes the amniotic fluid volume decreases and there is an emphasis on the umbilical cord so that there is less supply of oxygen and nutrients to the fetus which causes the newborn to have asphyxia. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between the length of premature rupture of membranes during labor with asphyxia of the new born infant in Aura Syifa Kediri Hospital. This study used an observational research design with a Cross Sectional approach.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between a healthy diet and the level of work productivity among office workers. With increasing awareness of the importance of a nutritionally balanced diet, this study examines how a diet that includes proper intake of nutrients, such as iron, relates to worker performance. Data obtained from 210 respondents showed that workers who eat a healthy diet tend to have higher work productivity compared to those who do not maintain a good diet. The study also highlighted the importance of workplace health support in improving productivity, with workers who felt supported by company policies reporting lower levels of fatigue and stress. Based on these findings, companies are advised to introduce policies that support healthy eating and overall well-being in order to improve workers ' productivity and quality of life.

Abstract

Perineal rupture is a frequent obstetric complication that may occur during vaginal delivery, either spontaneously or with instrumental assistance. This condition often results in significant perineal pain, potentially hindering the physical recovery and psychological well-being of postpartum women. Non-pharmacological methods, such as Benson’s relaxation technique, have shown promise in managing pain effectively without the risks associated with pharmacological treatments. This quasi-experimental study aimed to examine the effectiveness of Benson’s relaxation technique in reducing perineal suture pain in postpartum women. The study involved 32 participants, with 16 women assigned to the experimental group and 16 to the control group. Pain intensity was measured using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), and the data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. Results revealed a statistically significant reduction in pain scores within the experimental group, with an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000, indicating a p-value well below the 0.05 threshold. These findings support the use of Benson’s relaxation technique as an effective non-pharmacological intervention for alleviating perineal pain. Integrating this method into postpartum care may enhance maternal comfort and expedite recovery, offering healthcare providers a practical and low-risk approach to pain management in clinical settings.

Abstract

Abstract

Labor pain is a physiological process that can cause anxiety and stress in mothers in labor. Hypnobirthing is a relaxation method that aims to reduce fear and pain during labor. This study aims to determine the effect of hypnobirthing on the level of labor pain in mothers in the first stage of labor. The research method used was a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design approach. The sample consisted of 30 mothers in labor who were divided into two groups, namely the intervention group given hypnobirthing and the control group who received standard care. The instrument used was the Visual Analog Scale (VAS). The results showed that there was a significant difference in the level of pain between the intervention and control groups (p <0.05). The conclusion of this study is that hypnobirthing is effective in reducing labor pain in mothers in the first stage of labor. It is expected that hypnobirthing can be one of the non-pharmacological methods applied in midwifery care.

Abstract

East Java has the fourth-highest number of pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus among all provinces in Indonesia. While there were 65 pregnant women at the Kediri District Hospital, there were as many as 57 pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus at the Aura Syifa Hospital during the study. Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) in ω-3 are unsaturated fatty acids recognized as essential for child development and recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. This study aims to see the effect of fish oil supplementation on anxiety levels in pregnant women with GDM. The fish oil product used is "Healthy Care Fish Oil 1000 mg Omega-3," which was registered by the BPOM on February 8, 2021. It has also been certified as halal by MUI. This research used a quasi-experimental design and a pre-test-post-test control group design with a sample of 60 people obtained from a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire that tested validity and Reliability, with a Cronbach's alpha ranging from 0.446 to 0.837 (r table equal 0.444). The study's findings showed that the respondents who obtained fish oil had better results than the control group, with a difference of 4,700 plus or minus 7,415 in anxiety levels. Statistical tests showed ρ value equal to 0.002, less than a equal 0.05, so there was a notable distinction between the two groups. The results of the data analysis show that the use of fish oil for anxiety in pregnant women is effective in reducing the level of anxiety in the control group in the Kediri District area.
