Abstract

The rising psychological strain experienced by Muslim adolescents in the digital age is closely tied to the increasingly intensive use of social media, which leads to information overload, tendencies toward self-comparison, and mental fatigue. This study aims to describe the mental health conditions of Muslim youth and connect them with prophetic teachings on inner tranquility, particularly the concepts of dhikr, tawakkul, and balanced living. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach and textual analysis of religious sources, the data were gathered through a literature review of relevant hadiths, classical and contemporary scholarly commentaries, and modern psychological findings. The analysis reveals that adolescents often experience digital anxiety, emotional instability, identity-formation pressures, and diminished inner calm due to excessive digital exposure. The integrative discussion highlights that hadith-based values provide a spiritual foundation for restoring mental balance, including strengthening one’s relationship with God, practicing dhikr as a means of emotional regulation, applying tawakkul in facing life’s pressures, and avoiding extreme behaviors. The study emphasizes that prophetic teachings can serve as a basis for developing psycho-spiritual resilience and self-regulation strategies relevant to Muslim adolescents amid modern challenges. The implications point to the importance of incorporating religious values into youth mental health programs, family education, and spiritual guidance within educational and religious institutions. Abstract

The development of technology in the digital era has changed the pattern of interaction and communication of the community, including in the practice of da'wah. Generation Z as active users of social media makes digital platforms as one of the spaces to obtain religious information. Conditions like this require preachers to not only understand the substance of Islamic teachings, but also to master communication ethics in accordance with the guidance of the Qur'an and Hadith. This study aims to analyze the communication ethics of preachers on social media by focusing on six principles of communication in the Qur'an, namely, qaulan sididan, qaulan baligha, qaulan ma'rufan, qaulan karima, qaulan layyina, and qaulan masyira. The research method uses a literature review approach through search of buu, scientific articles, and related journals. The results of this study show that the effectiveness of da'wah through digital is greatly influenced by the ability of preachers to convey messages honestly, politely, on target, and in accordance with the characteristics of the audience. In this study, it was also found that there is a tendency for some preachers to use harsh, degrading, or provocative language that has the potential to cause conflict and distance the next generation from Islamic values. Thus, the application of communication ethics is an important factor in ensuring that da'wah on social media still carries the value of rahmatan lil 'alamin and can be accepted constructively by generation Z.

Abstract

This article analyzes boxing from the perspectives of health, hadith, and Maqāṣid al-Sharīʿah through a qualitative-normative approach using library research. The study departs from the empirical reality that boxing, as a high-contact sport, carries serious risks such as concussions, recurrent head injuries, and potential neurological impairments, which contradict Islamic principles on the preservation of life and the prohibition of harming oneself or others. In contrast, scholarly ideality requires that sports be practiced with due regard to safety, health, and ethical values; however, previous research has rarely connected boxing with hadith analysis and maqāṣid al-sharīʿah, creating a significant research gap. This article discusses three main dimensions: first, an evaluation of the health implications of boxing and their relevance to Islamic legal principles; second, an analysis of hadiths concerning the prohibition of harm (lā ḍarar wa lā ḍirār) as an ethical foundation for assessing boxing-related risks; and third, an appraisal of boxing through the framework of maqāṣid al-sharīʿah, particularly the objectives of preserving life (ḥifẓ al-nafs), intellect (ḥifẓ al-ʿaql), and balancing benefits and harms (maṣlaḥah–mafsadah). The findings indicate that although boxing offers fitness benefits, it presents substantial health risks, necessitating strict evaluation according to Islamic principles such as modifying training formats, eliminating dangerous head strikes, enforcing maximum protective measures, or avoiding high-risk competitive forms. Thus, boxing can only be deemed acceptable within certain limits, insofar as it aligns with the maqāṣid al-sharīʿah and Islamic ethical principles that prioritize safety above all. Abstract

This study is based on developments in digital technology that require Islamic boarding schools to reaffirm the value of manners as the foundation for fostering student’s character. Although digitization has changed learning patterns and interactions, the traditions of Islamic boarding schools remain relevant as moral guides that shape simplicity, discipline, humility, independence, and respect for religious teachers. The integration of adab values with technology means that digital devices are not a threat, but a means of strengthening learning as long as their use is guided by Islamic ethics. Thus, santri are expected to become digitally competent individuals who remain moral in the face of modern challenges. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review of relevant books, journal articles, and scientific work. The focus of the research is to analyze the concept and implementation of santri manners in the digital era, including spiritual guidance through obedience to kiai, discipline in worship, simple living, honesty, and media ethics. The study also examines how Islamic boarding schools integrate manners with technology through digital literacy, the use of modern learning media, and the formation of santri as moral agents in cyberspace. The results of the study show that adab values remain the main foundation of pesantren education. Pesantren are able to strengthen the character of santri through digital literacy programs, media ethics, and cyber dakwah, so that santri not only master digital skills but are also able to maintain Islamic adab and ethics in every digital activity.

Abstract

Mental health is a major concern for Generation Z, who live under academic and social pressure and use technology intensively. Islamic spirituality offers an inner approach that is believed to provide peace and emotional stability. This article aims to examine the role of Islamic spirituality as a protective factor and form of intervention in improving the mental health of Generation Z. This study uses a qualitative method through a literature review, supplemented by interviews with several students as respondents. The results of the study show that spiritual practices such as prayer, remembrance of God, supplication, reading the Qur'an, and values such as patience, gratitude, and trust in God can reduce stress, overthinking, and anxiety. Spirituality also helps build resilience, self-awareness, and the ability to manage psychological pressure. These findings confirm that an Islamic spiritual approach can be an alternative intervention in maintaining the mental well-being of Generation Z amid the challenges of modern life.

Abstract

This study investigates the concept of qana‘ah (contentment) as a psycho sociological solution for Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) among Generation Z, utilizing a normative hadith studies approach integrated with social psychology analysis. The research focuses on how prophetic traditions emphasizing self sufficiency and gratitude can mitigate the anxiety and comparative behaviors driven by digital media exposure. Data were analyzed through thematic analysis of relevant aḥ ādīth regarding ghina an nafs (wealth of the soul) and the discouragement of social comparison. The findings indicate that FOMO, rooted in upward social comparison and compulsive use, is a key driver of cognitive distraction and spiritual imbalance. Thematic analysis reveals that qana‘ah functions as a multi layered solution: (1) Cognitive Reframing (shifting value from external assets to internal contentment), (2) Emotional Immunity (providing stable internal gratification against Dopamine driven cycles), and (3) Behavioral Regulation (strengthening inhibitory control). The study concludes that integrating the normative framework of qana‘ah serves as a robust spiritual coping mechanism, enhancing psychological resilience and restoring cognitive focus (khusyu’) essential for digital well being among Gen Z.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the digital activities of Generation Z Quran memorizers and their influence on religious internality in the social media era through the perspective of the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Generation Z as digital natives live in two spaces at once: Islamic boarding schools that demand spiritual tranquility and a fast, interactive, and distraction-filled digital space. The study uses a qualitative phenomenological approach with data collection through observation and in-depth interviews with tahfiz students aged 15–25 years. The results show that digital activities have a dual impact: expanding religious literacy and memorization motivation, but also triggering distraction, decreasing focus on murojaah, and disrupting the solemnity of worship. Religious internality, which includes sincerity, trustworthiness, commitment to worship, and self-control, plays an important role in maintaining the spiritual stability of students. The hadith regarding the Prophet's uswah ḥasanah has proven to be a guideline for media ethics, especially in verifying information, guarding speech, and displaying Quranic morals in the digital space. This research confirms that digital technology is not only a challenge, but can be a means of forming religious identity if managed based on prophetic values.

Abstract

Women’s leadership in Indonesian politics continues to develop and remains a subject of debate, particularly concerning the interpretation of the hadith narrated by an-Nasa’i No. 5293, which is often used as a basis to restrict women’s roles in leadership. This study aims to analyze women’s political leadership from an Islamic perspective by examining Surah An-Nur verse 55 and the hadith of an-Nasa’i No. 5293, and by connecting these texts with the contemporary reality of women leaders in Indonesia. This research employs a library research method, drawing upon various sources such as tafsir works, hadith collections, books, academic journals, and political regulations in Indonesia. The findings reveal that the hadith possesses a specific historical context namely the unstable political situation in Persia when the daughter of Kisra was appointed ruler. Therefore, the hadith cannot be applied universally to all circumstances and eras. In the modern context, particularly within Indonesia’s democratic system in which authority is distributed among multiple state institutions, women have legitimate opportunities to assume leadership roles. This is supported by the success of several female leaders such as Megawati Soekarnoputri, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, and Tri Rismaharini, who have demonstrated their capabilities in holding strategic public positions. Additionally, national regulations concerning women’s political representation further illustrate the state’s support for women’s participation in governance. Thus, women’s political leadership in Indonesia aligns with the Islamic principle of maslahah, which emphasizes public welfare and justice as foundations of leadership.
