Abstract

The human vagina together with its resident, microbiota, comprise a dynamic ecosystem. Normal microbiota is dominated by Lactobacillus species, and pathogen microbiota such as Gardnerella species and Bacteroides species can occur due to decrease in Lactobacillus domination. Lactobacillus plays an essential role in keeping normal vaginal microbiota in balance. Vaginal microbiota adapts to pH change and hormonal value. Changes in the vaginal microbiota over a woman’s lifespan will influence the colonization of pathogenic microbes. They include changes in child, puberty, reproductive state, menopause, and postmenopause. Estrogen levels change will affect the colonization of pathogenic microbium, leading to genitourinary syndrome of menopause. Vulvovaginal atrophy is often found in postmenopausal women, and dominated by L. iners, Anaerococcus sp, Peptoniphilus sp, Prevotella sp, and Streptococcus sp. The normal vaginal microbiota’s imbalance in menopause will cause diseases such as bacterial vaginosis, and recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis due to hormonal therapies. Changes in the vaginal microbiota due to bacterial vaginosis are characterized by decrease in H2O2-producing Lactobacillus. They are also caused by the increase in numbers and concentration of Gardnerella vaginalis, Mycoplasma hominis, and other anaerob species such as Peptostreptococci, Prevotella spp, and Mobiluncus spp.

Abstract

Background: Severe erythema nodosum leprosum (ENL) is common but difficult to treat. Long term use of systemic corticosteroid causes side effects. This study compares the use of a combination of pentoxifylline + oral corticosteroids with a single oral corticosteroid in leprosy patients with severe ENL reactions. Parameters measured include skin RSA score, systemic RSA, total corticosteroid dose, resolution time of skin lesions, improvement of pain VAS and treatment side effects.Methods: 29 subjects with severe ENL reactions are allocated randomly into two groups which receive oral pentoxifylline + methylprednisolone, and oral placebo + methylprednisolone for 12 weeks. The starting dose of pentoxifylline are 400 mg thrice daily for 4 weeks, tapered to 400 mg daily every 4 weeks. Methylprednisolone is based on WHO guideline. Results: In the end, the median of cutaneous RSA score in pentoxifylline vs placebo group is 4 (0-5) vs 3 (0-5). The median of systemic RSA score in pentoxifylline vs placebo group is 0 (0-6) vs 0 (0-5). The median of total corticosteroid doses in pentoxifylline vs placebo group is 156 (120-200) mg vs 136 (96-200) mg. The median of resolution time in pentoxifylline vs placebo group is 6 (0-12) weeks vs 6 (0-12) weeks. The median of change of pain VAS score in pentoxifylline vs placebo group is 5 (0-6) vs 3 (-3-6). No statistically significant difference (p>0,05) are found in all parameters, including side effects. Conclusion: Combination of oral pentoxifylline + corticosteroid is not proven to be more effective. Both are safe.

Abstract

Kegiatan konsumsi rumah tangga di perkotaan menjadi salah satu aspek yang berkontribusi tinggi pada permasalahan lingkungan, yang meliputi pemakaian sumber daya, produksi emisi dan limbah rumah tangga baik berupa gas, padat maupun cair. Salah satu alternatif cara untuk menekan kerusakan yang disebabkan oleh aktivitas konsumsi rumah tangga ini adalah melalui penggunaan produk-produk yang bersifat lebih ramah lingkungan, walaupun efektivitas dari strategi ini masih banyak diperdebatkan. Artikel ini memaparkan strategi desain ramah lingkungan pada produk rumah tangga, melalui penelusuran penelitian-penelitian yang telah dilakukan sebelumnya. Dari sekian strategi yang dipaparkan maka dipilih salah satu strategi untuk diterapkan yaitu ‘eco-information’ ke dalam produk mesin cuci 2 tabung, yang saat ini banyak digunakan oleh masyarakat Indonesia. Aplikasi strategi dilakukan dengan memberikan modifikasi desain kepada mesin cuci, di mana pengguna dapat melihat penggunaan air dan listrik secara langsung pada saat proses pencucian sehingga dapat meningkatkan kesadaran / awareness pengguna akan sumber daya yang dipakai. Efektivitas strategi ini diuji melalui eksperimen yang melibatkan responden, di mana konsumsi air sebelum dan sesudah penerapan strategi dicatat dan dianalisis lebih lanjut, dan didapatkan bahwa penerapan strategi memberikan efek yang signifikan pada perilaku pengguna mesin cuci terkait konsumsi air

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has brought its own challenges to some aspects of people’s religious life, especially in carrying out worship. People have difficulty understanding the pandemic in relation to the implementation of worship. At St. Francis of Assisi Lingga Station, Catholics have to follow directions from the government and the Church to worship from home. Their problem is the problem of this Community Service, how to deal with covid-19 in the Catholic faith? how to do worship from home? The method used is community service and socialization. The result of this service is that the station community gains a better understanding of the pandemic and gains insight into how to arrange pastoral and catechism activity in the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic. With this understanding, the people are expected not to become Catholics who confused but to become more alive in the midst of pandemic.

Abstract

Community service activities are carried out by prioritizing the spirit of protecting the environment. The equivalent is stated in the Laudato Si' document issued by Pope Francis. This ecological catechesis invites people to be more aware and active in caring for the environment, especially the protected forests around the village. In the catechesis process carried out in Sungai Langer hamlet - Sanggau Regency - West Kalimantan, the service team educated them on the importance of nature and forests, and that it is the responsibility of all village residents to maintain their preservation. This service method is carried out by providing teaching and education through eco-technical catechesis activities to all village residents in accordance with the call of Laudato Si'. The aim of this activity is that people become more sensitive to environmental damage and its impact on human life.

Abstract

Home door security currently still uses a manual system using conventional door locks.  The disadvantages of conventional house door locks include that the home owner must ensure that the house key is not owned by a stranger which causes the key to be easily duplicated, as well as the number of house break-ins that cause the security of the house door to be very insecure.  To overcome the problems that occur regarding the security of the house door, the authors created a microcontroller-based door lock system using the nRF24L01+ remote as access control for opening and closing door locks. This door lock system uses 3 microcontrollers, including NodeMCU ESP8266 as a remote. Arduino Uno as the door lock system control unit, as well as the additional NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller as a data logging unit.  The control unit is tasked with making decisions based on commands sent by the remote via radio frequency communication from the nRF24L01+ module.  The command sent by the remote is in the form of opening and closing the door lock which comes from the input button on the remote.  It also provides additional features in the form of data logging by providing input using a limit switch attached to the door. This research got the results, namely the success of the system that is able to respond in less than one second.  The fastest response time gets a value of 0.14 seconds, then the longest response speed gets a value of 0.565 seconds, and the stable response speed gets a value of 0.188 seconds

Abstract

Fast and stable internet access has become an essential requirement in daily activities. To meet this need, subscribing to internet packages has emerged as a viable solution. Therefore, the development of a user interface (UI) for a mobile application that facilitates internet package subscriptions is crucial. This study aims to design the user interface of a mobile application called Juwana, which allows users to easily purchase internet subscription packages and enhance user satisfaction. The User Centered Design (UCD) method was employed in this research. The UI design of the Juwana application was developed by analyzing user requirements, designing solutions based on those requirements, and conducting usability testing using Maze and the System Usability Scale (SUS). The results of this study present the design of the Juwana application's user interface, consisting of 13 interfaces. Maze testing indicated that all testing scenarios yielded the expected outcomes. The SUS testing results showed that the Juwana application design prototype obtained an average score of 75.7 with a grade scale of C, a Good adjective rating, and fell within the Acceptable category. Based on the findings and discussions of this research, it can be concluded that the user interface design of the Juwana application, developed using the User Centered Design (UCD) method, meets user needs and preferences. The design facilitates the process of purchasing internet subscription packages and enhances user satisfaction.

Abstract

Olahraga merupakan hal yang kompleks, Olahraga dapat dilihat dari berbagai macam sudut pandang. Terkait dengan pencapaian prestasi sebagai salah satu tujuan dari olahraga, banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi dalam pencapaian prestasi tersebut. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Gor Lahat selama 9 hari kegiatan berlangsung mulai dari tanggal 16 September 2023 sampai dengan 24 September 2023. Berdasarkan analisis situasi serta hasil wawancara dan observasi diketahui kebutuhan utama yang dihadapi yaitu Edukasi Pencegahan dan perawatan Cedera pada atlet FPTI Kota Palembang. Berdasarkan pelaksanaan dan hasil kegiatan pendampingan pencegahan dan perawatan cedera olahraga melalui massage pada atlet FPTI Kota Palembang mendapatkan beberapa manfaat sehingga prestasi FPTI Kota Palembang semakin meningkat.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan ini untuk membatu atlet panjat tebing Kota Palembang mengetahui batas kemampuan komponen biomotorik dan membatu memberikan program Latihan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan fisik. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat dalam bidang tes dan pengukuran panjat tebing juga membuka peluang untuk penelitian dan pengembangan lebih lanjut. Data yang dikumpulkan dari tes dan pengukuran dapat digunakan untuk melakukan penelitian yang mendalam mengenai berbagai aspek panjat tebing, termasuk faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi performa dan keselamatan, tren perkembangan kemampuan pemanjat, dan efektivitas berbagai metode pelatihan. Penelitian ini dapat memberikan wawasan yang berharga yang dapat digunakan untuk mengembangkan program pelatihan yang lebih efektif, alat pengukuran yang lebih akurat, dan kebijakan keselamatan yang lebih baik. Misalnya, penelitian mengenai teknik-teknik panjat yang paling efektif untuk berbagai jenis rute dapat membantu pemanjat meningkatkan kemampuan mereka dengan lebih cepat dan aman. Selain itu, penelitian mengenai faktor-faktor psikologis yang mempengaruhi performa dapat membantu mengembangkan program pelatihan mental yang lebih efektif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh keinginan penulis untuk mengetahui sastra lisan cerita Rakyat Dayak Seberuang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif berbentuk kualitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah semua kutipan-kutipan yang terdapat dalam cerita rakyat Dayak Seberuang. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah cerita rakyat Dayak Seberuang Desa Seberu, Kecamatan Silat Hilir, Kabupaten Kapuas Hulu. Unsur intrinsik terdiri atas tema, tokoh, penokohan, alur, latar, amanat dan gaya bahasa. Berdasarkan wawancara, penelitian ini hanya di fokuskan pada analisis tema, tokoh, penokohan, alur, latar, dan amanat. Instrumen utama di dalam penelitian ini adalah seorang informan dengan alat bantu yang di gunakan dalam pengumpulan data berupa rekaman dari hasil yang di ceritakan oleh seorang informan tentang cerita rakyat dayak seberuang yaitu kisah raja dan kancil, kisah beruang dan kura-kura, asal mula batu geruguk, asal mula batu sawak dan asal mula sungai mali. Kata Kunci : Unsur Intrinsik, Cerita Rakyat, Dayak Seberuang
