Abstract

Chemical engineering education is faced with the challenge of not only imparting theoretical knowledge, but also to develop students' practical skills that meet industry needs. Project Based Learning (PjBL) has been implemented as an effective approach to answer these challenges. This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of PjBL in improving students' practical skills in the field of chemical engineering. Research is carried out through providing projects that are integrated with the curriculum and oriented to real industrial problems. The method used is comparative analysis of pre-test and post-test to measure improvement in practical skills. The results showed that students who took PjBL showed significant improvements in collaboration skills, problem solving, and use of technology. Apart from that, this approach also increases student motivation and involvement in the learning process. In conclusion, PjBL is an innovative and effective learning strategy that strengthens the practical skills of chemical engineering students and prepares them to become part of a competent workforce in the chemical industry.

Abstract

Straight kicks are often used to gain points when facing each other. To perform a good straight kick, there is an element of physical condition needed to carry out this movement to support the execution of the movement properly and correctly. The aim of this research was to increase the speed of A pencak silat kicks in athletes aged 15-17 years in Sanga Village. This research method uses the development of the ADDIE model using 5 stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation (ADDIE). The research subjects consisted of 30 athletes. The research instrument used an assessment scale by 3 experts, namely pencak silat experts, movement experts and martial arts experts. The results of the research using the expert validation test Content Validity Index (CVI) and Content Validity Ratio (CVR) on the Kick Training Model A with an average CVR value of -0.05 means that the training model to increase the speed of kick A in pencak silat has validity high so that the A pencak silat kick training model is safe to use, according to the characteristics of athletes aged 15-17 years.

Abstract

This research is entitled Independent Village Policy Development Model in Rasau Jaya District, Kubu Raya Regency, which aims to construct an independent village development model in Rasau Jaya District, Kubu Raya Regency. This research is motivated by the problems of poverty, welfare, and community empowerment in six villages in Rasau Jaya District (General Rasau Jaya Village, Rasau Jaya Satu Village, Rasau Jaya Dua Village, Rasau Jaya Tiga, Bintang Mas Village, and Pematang Seven Village), while in the Building Village Index (IDM) the six villages have been included in the independent village category in 2023. This is certainly a special concern in the implementation of independent villages and the need for strategic steps to maintain and improve the development of the social composite index (IKS), economic composite index (IKE) and environmental composite index (IKL) in the village with village empowerment programs or policies. In order to determine the implementation of development in six villages in Rasau Jaya District, this research was conducted by qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of this study show that the social composite index needs efforts to improve the condition of the poor, IKE has the potential for plantations, agriculture and animal husbandry to be an important sector in supporting the economy of the people of Rasau Jaya District, and IKL becomes a polemic is that forest fires still often occur in Rasau Jaya District and the community's water needs are a problem for the environment. Researchers recommend the need for policies to maintain the Status of Independent Villages in Rasau Jaya District by involving the government, private sector, community and academics in preparing strategic village policy plans in Rasau Jaya District, Kubu Raya Regency. Keywords: Policy, Development, Empowerment, Independent Village.

Abstract

Abstract

The Nibakng tradition is a vital cultural heritage that embodies local wisdom and is closely tied to the community's identity. However, with the rapid advancement of globalization and modernization, the tradition faces the risk of disappearing. This study aims to analyze cultural promotion policies and their role in preserving the Nibakng religious practice, which is embraced by the Dayak Bidayuh community in the border region of Siding District, Bengkayang Regency, West Kalimantan Province. A qualitative approach was employed, using in-depth interviews with local communities, traditional leaders, and policymakers, alongside document analysis of cultural promotion policies. The findings revealed that while these policies have contributed to the preservation of Nibakng, several obstacles remain, such as limited budget allocation, insufficient focus on involving younger generations, and challenges in local implementation. The study concludes that cultural promotion policies can help strengthen local cultural identity if they are supported by collaboration among local governments, traditional institutions, and communities. This research emphasizes the need for more comprehensive policy improvements, greater youth involvement, and enhanced cross-border cooperation with neighboring countries to ensure the sustainability of the Nibakng tradition, ultimately fortifying national identity in the border region.

Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to obtain technology for improving the quality of CLC (Celullar Lightweight Concrete) bricks to be equivalent to AAC (Autoclaved Aerated Concrete). This is a response to the rapid development, especially in the property sector, which is followed by the increasing need for bricks as the main material for building walls. CLC bricks are an alternative product other than red bricks that have the potential to pollute the environment because in the production process there is burning. The problem is that the quality of CLC bricks is relatively lower compared to AAC bricks. The method is to add bamboo fiber as a reinforcement and optimize the elements. The design of the experiment was made using the Taguchi Method, but preliminary experiments had previously been carried out to predict the percentage of elements. The research includes manufacturing process technology and quality testing on samples. Bamboo fiber-reinforced CLC bricks are obtained with an optimal composition of 0.5% fiber and a ratio of cement mass to sand mass of 1:1.6. This sample has a compressive strength of 1.1235 MPa and a bending strength of 1.1723 MPa. From this composition, samples were obtained with an average compressive strength of 1.1285 MPa and an average bending strength of 1.3551 MPa. Thus, it can be concluded that the addition of fiber can increase the strength of CLC bricks to be equal to or stronger than AAC bricks on the market.
