Abstract

This study aims to examine students’ metaphorical thinking skills in the topic of circles. Metaphorical thinking is a higher-order cognitive ability that enables students to relate abstract mathematical concepts to real-life experiences through six thinking stages: Connect, Relate, Explore, Analyze, Transform, and Experience (CREATE). This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach involving eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Kota Jambi. Data were collected through observation, written tests on circle material, and semi-structured interviews. The results show that most students were able to connect circle concepts to real-life situations (Connect indicator) and identify relationships among circle elements (Relate indicator). However, some students still faced difficulties in the Explore and Analyze stages, which require deeper conceptual reasoning. The study concludes that metaphorical thinking skills play an essential role in helping students meaningfully and contextually understand circle concepts

Abstract

Digitalization is currently developing very rapidly, and various studies have shown that it contributes to increased economic growth in various countries. In Indonesia, the development of digitalization is a crucial factor in driving economic growth between provinces with varying levels of technology adoption. Therefore, this study aims to explore the influence of digitalization on economic growth in Indonesia and identify the contribution of each digitalization indicator to economic growth in each province based on digitalization clusters. This study uses one dependent variable, namely economic growth, which is proxied by GRDP per capita, and five independent variables as digitalization indicators: digital access, digital use, digital capability, digital finance, and digital inequality. The analysis method used is a spline approach to capture differences in influence between provincial clusters. The research results show that the digital capability indicator contributed the most to the increase in GRDP per capita in provinces with the “Very High” cluster, followed by Digital Finance. Thus, digitalization has been shown to significantly influence economic growth in Indonesia. Improving infrastructure and adopting digital technologies, as well as reducing the digital divide, are crucial for driving inclusive and sustainable economic growth across all provinces.

Abstract

Mathematical reasoning is a fundamental competency in mathematics learning, particularly in solving probability word problems that require systematic and logical thinking. One widely used framework to support problem solving is Polya’s problem-solving theory, which consists of four stages: understanding the problem, devising a plan, carrying out the plan, and reviewing the solution. This study aims to analyze students’ mathematical reasoning abilities in solving probability word problems based on Polya’s steps. Polya’s theory is employed as an analytical framework to examine how students reason through probability tasks. The study adopted a qualitative descriptive approach involving tenth-grade students at a vocational high school in Jambi City. Data were collected through probability word problem tests, interviews, and classroom observations. The findings indicate that students’ mathematical reasoning abilities vary across the stages of Polya’s problem-solving process. At the understanding stage, most students were able to identify relevant information, although some experienced difficulties with probability terminology. During the planning stage, only a small number of students could formulate systematic solution strategies. In the execution stage, many students performed basic calculations correctly, but errors emerged when applying formulas to more complex problems. The reviewing stage was the least practiced, resulting in many undetected errors. These results suggest that while students possess basic problem-solving skills, they require further guidance to develop systematic and reflective reasoning. Therefore, reinforcing each stage of Polya’s problem-solving process is essential for improving students’ mathematical reasoning in solving probability word problems.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of tax socialization, taxpayer awareness, and tax sanctions on individual taxpayer compliance. This research uses a quantitative research approach. The population in this study consists of individual taxpayers who possess a Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP), are registered at KPP Pratama Gresik, and operate as entrepreneurs in Gresik Regency. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, which selects samples based on predetermined criteria. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 75 respondents. The data analysis method employed is multiple linear regression analysis using IBM SPSS Statistics 22. The results of this study indicate that tax socialization has a significant effect on taxpayer compliance. Taxpayer awareness also has a significant effect on taxpayer compliance. In addition, tax sanctions have a significant effect on individual taxpayer compliance.

Abstract

The discipline and compliance of public transportation drivers are crucial factors in ensuring safe, comfortable, and secure transportation. North Kolaka Regency, as one of the entry and exit points to Southeast Sulawesi Province, with its high volume of goods and people, faces various challenges related to administrative violations, vehicle roadworthiness, and compliance with transportation laws. This community service initiative aims to improve drivers' and transportation business owners' understanding of the importance of implementing regulations, licensing procedures, and applicable legal sanctions through outreach, direct education, enforcement, supervision, and law enforcement. The activities included problem mapping, outreach, outreach, education, and evaluation of drivers' perceptions and understanding. The results of the initiative indicate an increase in drivers' knowledge of law enforcement provisions and their awareness of complying with technical and administrative transportation requirements.

Abstract

Terminal land utilization is a crucial aspect in improving the effectiveness of transportation services, developing the local economy, and optimizing regional spatial planning. However, various issues such as inappropriate land use, lack of understanding among the public and business actors, and weak coordination between stakeholders remain challenges in terminal management. This community service activity aims to provide outreach regarding the importance of appropriate and sustainable terminal land utilization. The methods used included outreach, focus group discussions, and participant understanding assessments. The outreach activity lasted one day (Saturday, November 8, 2025), targeting the community around the Sangi-Sangi Type B Terminal in South Konawe Regency. The results showed a significant increase in understanding of terminal functions, land zoning regulations, legal business opportunities, and the positive impact of terminal development on the regional economy. This activity is expected to be the first step in strengthening terminal governance to be more efficient, orderly, and economically valuable for South Konawe Regency.
