Abstract

Background : Fractures (broken bones) are the most common occurrence in the productive age group. According to WHO, in 2020, fractures were recorded in around 13 million people with a prevalence of 2.7 % . Fractures are one of the causes of disability caused by trauma, namely accidents. Fractures can cause disability or even death if the fracture is not handled properly. Medical treatment of fractures is not the only option for people today.  Objective : To find out the picture of alternative treatments on the healing rate of fracture patients in Bulukumba Regency. Method : This study used a qualitative research design with a descriptive-survey approach. Six participants were selected according to the criteria and subjected to observations and interviews. Research result : The research results identified three themes, namely: (1) alternative medicine with the subthemes of alternative medicine therapists and forms of alternative medicine, (2) healing rate with the subthemes of fracture treatment, duration of treatment and fracture condition, (3) Coping mechanisms with the subthemes of understanding alternative medicine, perceptions of alternative fracture treatment, reasons for choosing alternative fracture treatment. Conclusion and Recommendations : Alternative medicine therapists are often referred to as sanro or shamans in the community. Alternative treatments for fractures include massaging with oil, reciting prayers , and wrapping the fracture in cardboard. Reasons for choosing alternative medicine for fracture management vary, including low cost, faster healing, encouragement from family or parents, and proximity to alternative treatment facilities. The type of fracture experienced by patients who come for treatment with alternative medicine is a closed fracture. There are some whose fractures have not healed, but there are also some whose have healed. Researchers suggest that further research in the future could delve deeper into alternative fracture treatments for patients undergoing alternative fracture treatments.   Keywords : fracture, alternative medicine, healing rate

Abstract

This study explores the integration of Torajan indigenous culture into an English for Tourism (EFT) course to contextualize language learning while promoting cultural identity. Using a qualitative research and development (R&D) approach, cultural elements such as Rambu Solo’, Rambu Tuka’, Tongkonan houses, and Torajan proverbs were embedded into communicative English modules. Data were collected through needs analysis, interviews with lecturers and students, and pilot implementation. The findings indicate that integrating Torajan cultural content improves students’ tourism-related vocabulary, enhances motivation, and strengthens intercultural competence, while also reinforcing cultural pride. Challenges include limited availability of English-language materials on Toraja and the need for lecturer training in culturally responsive pedagogy. The study concludes that embedding indigenous culture in EFT fosters both global communication skills and sustainable cultural tourism

Abstract

This research examines the abstinence and prohibition system of the Kajang community in South Sulawesi, analyzing its form, meaning, cultural value, and role in maintaining social order and cultural identity. Descriptive qualitative method with ethnographic approach was used through literature study and observation to understand the resilience of customary rules in the midst of modernization. The results show that customary taboos cover aspects of life such as dress code, social interaction, natural resource management, and rituals, with philosophical values of simplicity, equality, obedience, and natural harmony. The Ammatoa's central role as customary leader is key to maintaining the continuity of this value system through norm enforcement and intergenerational transmission. In conclusion, the customary abstinence system functions as an effective instrument of social regulation, as well as a protector of cultural identity. This research confirms the importance of local wisdom in shaping sustainable communities with strong identities amidst global changes. The findings provide a perspective on the relevance of tradition preservation as a foundation of cultural resilience.

Abstract

Abstract This study examines cryptocurrency transactions from the perspective of Islamic law through the lens of Maqashid al-Syari’ah. The research stems from the growing use of digital assets in the modern economy, which raises legal and ethical questions regarding their permissibility and alignment with Islamic principles. The main problem addressed in this study is how Islamic jurisprudence evaluates cryptocurrency in relation to the objectives of Shariah. A qualitative method with a normative-juridical approach is employed, analyzing classical and contemporary literature as well as the fatwa issued by the National Sharia Council of the Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI) No. 140 of 2021. The findings indicate that cryptocurrency may be considered mubah (permissible) under certain conditions, provided it upholds justice, transparency, and avoids elements of gharar, maisir, and riba. The study concludes that Maqashid al-Syari’ah provides a rational and adaptive framework for evaluating modern financial innovations. It recommends strengthening regulatory frameworks and enhancing Sharia literacy in digital asset transactions to ensure conformity with the principles of justice and public welfare in Islamic law. Abstract

This study intends to identify the values of religious moderation in the paradigm of inter-religious conflict reconciliation by FKUB Jayapura City. This qualitative research uses a normative-empirical-philosophical analysis approach. Primary data was taken through observation and interviews. The nature of this research approach is descriptive-analytic. The theory of analysis in this study is an indicator of religious moderation formulated by the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results showed that there were dimensions of religious moderation values in the conflict reconciliation paradigm implemented by the Religious Harmony Forum (FKUB) of Jayapura City. First, the values of anti-radicalism and tolerance in the socio-religious-based conflict reconciliation paradigm. This can be seen from the paradigm of inclusiveness of religious social values in the dialogue room which was attended by various interfaith leaders and community leaders. Second, the accommodative value of local wisdom and national commitment in the paradigm of conflict reconciliation based on culture and nationalism. This can be seen from the existence of space for religious and social aspirations in socio-cultural pluralism and the spirit of nationalism. The theoretical implication of this study shows that indicators of religious moderation in Indonesia can be a paradigm for fostering inter-religious harmony. The limitation of this research is that it has not examined what factors are the obstacles and supports the Jayapura City FKUB in efforts to reconcile conflicts between religious communities.
