Abstract

The risk of conflict on a multicultural campus is huge. Not a few conflicts between students who are motivated by cultural problems. Conflict prevention efforts can be done through multicultural education. One of the multicultural universities in Indonesia is the university of Mataram. This study aims to describe the implementation of multicultural education at the University of Mataram. The unit of analysis in this study is students of elementary school teacher education programs. This research is important to do considering the diverse cultural backgrounds of students. Students are always faced with cultural diversity within the university. This research was designed in the form of qualitative research. The approach used is ethnographic. The main problem examined in this study is how to apply multicultural education in PGSD study programs. The results of the study revealed that in implementing multicultural education in PGSD study programs using a local wisdom approach. One of them is through the Sasambo dance. Sasambo dance is a dance created by Sasak, Samawa, and Mbojo tribes. Sasambo dance is made an icon of PGSD. Each student is required to learn and take the meaning of the dance. The values contained in the Sasambo dance are the spirit of unity, cooperation, and equality. This dance illustrates the spirit of unity and equality of the three main ethnic groups in the province of West Nusa Tenggara. Through the Sasambo dance students are taught that each ethnic group has the same position. Mutual respect and respect for differences is the key. The implementation of multicultural education is important. Prospective elementary school teaching students in the future have a very important role in instilling the value of diversity of character in elementary schools.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe social aspect is one of the areas most affected by the Covid-19 outbreak. In addition to maintaining cleanliness, social restrictions are considered the most effective steps to avoid contracting Covid-19. Community response in the social field has given rise to a new phenomenon, namely the emergence of discrimination. This study aims to reveal the causes and forms of discrimination during the Covid-19 outbreak. This research uses a phenomenological approach. This approach is used to understand and describe in detail related to phenomena that occur in society during a pandemic. Data collection through interviews and participatory observation. Research location in the city of Mataram. The issues to be examined in this study include: Why did discrimination occur? What forms of discrimination existed in the community during the pandemic? The results showed that discriminatory behavior occurs because of excessive fear in responding to Covid-19. New forms of discrimination that emerged in the pandemic era included policy discrimination, worship discrimination, and social discrimination. Policy discrimination can be seen from the different treatments and regulations in areas that have the potential to become epidemics. Discrimination in worship can be seen from the restrictions on the use of places of worship for people outside the community. Social discrimination is manifested by mutual suspicion, isolation of migrants, isolation of sick people, reluctance to help sick people, isolation of people who are indicated by COVID, antipathy towards strangers, and the creation of an inclusive environment. These new forms of discrimination are contradictory to the genuine character of the Indonesian people who are friendly, family, uphold the values of justice, and help each other if you experience difficulties. Covid-19 has formed a mind that tends to look for life alone without caring about others. ABSTRAKAspek sosial merupakan salah satu bidang yang paling banyak terdampak dengan adanya wabah Covid-19. Selain menjaga kebersihan, melakukan pembatasan sosial merupakan langkah yang dianggap paling efektif agar tidak terjangkit Covid-19. Respon masyarakat dalam bidang sosial telah menimbulkan fenomena baru yaitu munculnya diskriminasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkap penyebab dan bentuk-bentuk diskriminasi selama wabah Covid-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologi. Pendekatan ini digunakan untuk memahami dan menggambarkan secara detail terkait dengan fenomena yang terjadi di masyarakat selama pandemi. Pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dan observasi partisipasi. Lokasi penelitian di kota Mataram. Masalah yang akan dikaji dalam penelitian ini antara lain: Mengapa diskriminasi itu terjadi? Bagaimana bentuk diskriminasi yang ada di dalam masyarakat selama pandemi? Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perilaku diskriminasi terjadi karena adanya ketakutan yang berlebihan dalam menanggapi Covid-19. Bentuk diskriminasi barau yang muncul di era pandemi antara lain diskriminasi kebijakan, diskriminasi peribadahan dan diskriminasi sosial. Diskriminasi kebijakan dapat terlihat dari adanya perbedaan perlakuan dan peraturan terhadap bidang-bidang yang berpotensi menjadi tempat penyebaran wabah. Diskriminasi peribadahan terlihat dari adanya pembatasan penggunaan tempat ibadah bagi masyarakat di luar komunitas. Diskriminasi sosial diwujudkan dengan adanya sikap saling mencurigai, pengucilan terhadap para perantau, pengucilan terhadap orang yang sakit, enggan membantu orang yang sakit, pengucilan terhadap orang yang terindikasi Covid, antipati terhadap orang asing dan terbentuknya lingkungan inklusif. Bentuk-bentuk diskriminasi baru tersebut kontradiktif dengan karakter asli bangsa Indonesia yang ramah, kekeluargaan, menjunjung tinggi nilai-nilai keadilan dan saling membantu jika saudara mengalami kesusahan. Covid-19 telah membentuk mental yang cenderung mencari hidup sendiri tanpa peduli orang lain.

Abstract

The identification process is the first step in determining the special needs of the students. This process is important to be carried out as a basis for conducting assessments and developing individual learning programs for students with special needs. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection through in-depth observation, interviews, and documentation. The instruments used were observation and interview guidelines. Observations were made to observe the behavior of students both physically and non-physically when in the madrasa environment. Data is presented in the form of diagrams and then analyzed descriptively. Checking the validity of the findings is done by extending participation in the observation process. The results showed that 54 students were identified as having special needs. Specific types of needs found include impaired concentration and hyperactivity, specific learning difficulties, slow learning, visual impairment, visual impairment, hearing loss, and behavior and emotional disorders. Among these types of special needs are dominated by students with impaired concentration and hyperactivity with 39% of students with special needs.

Abstract

Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus (ABK) adalah anak dengan karakteristik khusus yang berbeda dengan anak pada umumnya tanpa selalu menunjukkan pada ketidakmampuan mental, emosi, atau fisik. MI NW Tanak Beak merupakan madrasah dengan jumlah siswa berkebutuhan khusus terbanyak di Lombok Barat yaitu 47 siswa. Sebagai madrasah penyelenggara pendidikan inklusi, madrasah ini juga mendapatkan bantuan dana untuk pengadaan media sebagai alat bantu dalam proses pembelajaran. Media pembelajaran, merupakan salah satu unsur penting dalam proses pembelajaran, hanya saja masih ada media yang belum digunakan dengan optimal di MI NW Tanak Beak. Penelitian ini, memfokuskan pada optimalisasi penggunaan media di MI NW Tanak Beak Narmada, yang meliputi: (1) media yang sudah digunakan; (2) media yang belum digunakan dan (3) kendala yang dihadapi oleh guru sehingga masih ada media yang belum digunakan secara optimal. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data dengan melakukan wawancara dan dokumentasi. Informan pada penelitian ini adalah guru dan kepala madrasah. Melalui hasil wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) 90% media yang ada di sekolah digunakan dengan maksimal; (2) media yang tidak pernah digunakan sama sekali adalah alat lego robotik dan angklung; (3) kendala yang dihadapi adalah keterbatasan pengetahuan guru dalam mengunakan media karena tidak semua guru pernah mengikuti pelatihan cara mengunakan media untuk anak berkebutuhan khusus.

Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan siswa pada pelajaran agama harus dicarikan solusinya. Salah satunya yang terjadi di SDN 4 Bajur, Keacamatan Labuapi, Kabupaten Lombok Barat. Sebagian besar siswa di sini memiliki kemampuan rendah dalam pelajaran agama. Maka dari itu perlu dilakukan upaya tindakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam memahami pelajaran agama. Tindakan yang dilakukan adalah menerapkan Model Cooperative Team Games Tournament (TGT) pada pembelajaran. Penelitian ini didesain dalam bentuk penelitian tindakan kelas. Masalah utama dalam penelitian ini adalah apakah penerapan model Cooperative Team Games Tournament dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas V di SDN 4 Bajur? Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tiga siklus. Pada masing-masing siklus terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini aalah siswa kelas V dengan jumlah siswa 26. Indikator keberhasilan tindakan dalam penelitian ini antara lain: 1. Jika minimal 75% dari keseluruhan siswa yang menjadi subjek penelitian telah mencapai ketuntasan. Ketuntasan individual ditetapkan 75%, sedangkan ketuntasan klasikal ditetapkan sebesar 85%. 2. Jika terdapat perubahan atau peningkatan prestasi belajar bagi siswa berkemanpuan rendah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setelah dilakukan tiga siklus terdapat peningkatan kemampuan klasikal. Pada siklus pertama ketuntasan klasikal 26%, siklus kedua 62% dan siklus ketiga 96%. Prestasi belajar siswa berkemampuan rendah juga telah mengalami peningkatan. Selama tiga kali siklus hanya satu siswa yang dinyatakan tidak tuntas. Berdasarkan dua indikator tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model TGT berhasil meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Pembelajaran dimasa pandemi tidaklah mudah. Terlebih lagi pembelajaran literasi di sekolah dasar. Literasi merupakan salah satu kemampuan dasar yang harus dimiliki siswa. Literasi adalah kunci utama agar siswa dapat membuka pengetahuan yang lebih luas. Tanpa literasi dasar dapat dipastikan siswa akan terhambat dalam mengikuti pembelajaran di level berikutnya. Permasalahannya adalah guru tidak dapat melakukan pembelajaran secara maksimal seiring dengan adanya pandemi. Pembatasan kegiatan pembelajaran di sekolah selama pandemi merupakan salah satu penyebabnya. Salah satu dampaknya adalah kemamppuan literasi siswa menjadi lemah. Salah satu indikatornya adalah banyak siswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam membaca dan menulis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui permasalahan apa saja yang dihadapi guru dalam pembelajaran literasi diera pandemi yang berdampak pada rendahnya kemampuan literasi siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada salah satu sekolah dasar yang berada di wilayah Urban Fringe kabupaten Lombok Tengah. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kasus. Pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah guru dan kepala sekolah. Problematika pembelajaran literasi di era pandemi yang ditemukan dalam penelitian ini antara lain: kurangnya intensitas belajar tatap muka di sekolah, etos belajar siswa menurun, dukungan orang tua dalam pembelajaran kurang, dan keterbatasan kemampuan guru dan siswa dalam penggunaan media pembelajaran jarak jauh.

Abstract

Membaca merupakan salah satu bagian dari literasi yang paling mendasar. Permasalahan literasi dasar harus dituntaskan sebelum dilakukan pembelajaran lebih jauh. Jika aspek literasi masih mengalami kendala dapat dipastikan pembelajaran pada level berikutnya akan mengalami kesulitan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil kemampuan membaca siswa selama pandemi ditinjau dari perbedaan gender. Penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian survei. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa di sekolah dasar. Jumlah responden yang diteliti sebanyak 78 siswa. Responden siswa laki-laki sebanyak 31 siswa sedangkan reponden siswa perempuan sebanyak 47 siswa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tes. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan membaca. Hasil survei menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan membaca siswa perempuan lebih baik jika dibandingkan dengan siswa laki-laki. Siswa perempuan yang telah lancar membaca mencapai 53.19%, sedangkan siswa laki-laki hanya 38.71%. Jumlah siswa laki-laki yang tidak dapat membaca/belum mengenal huruf sebanyak 12.90%, sedangkan pada siswa perempuan hanya 4.26%. Disamping faktor kematangan psikologis yang berbeda, beberapa faktor yang diduga menjadi penyebab siswa laki-laki mengalami kesulitan membaca antara lain perilaku belajar, etos belajar, tanggungjawab belajar dan kemandirian belajar yang kurang baik pada siswa laki-laki.

Abstract

Local letters are one part of the nation's cultural literacy. The existence of local letters must be preserved. Various efforts have been made to preserve local letters, one of which is by integrating local letter learning into local content subjects in elementary schools. One of the local letters owned by the Indonesian people is the Satera Jontal letter. Satera Jontal is the original script of the Samawa tribe, one of the major ethnic groups in West Nusa Tenggara. This study aims to determine the literacy ability profile of elementary school students to the local letters of Satera Jontal. The research was conducted at an elementary school in Sumbawa. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. Collecting data using questionnaires and interviews. The subjects in this study were elementary school students, totaling 17 students. Based on the results of data collection, it can be seen that there are no students who are able to read and write Satera Jontal letters. Students are only able to recognize the shape and name of the Satera Jontal letters but are not able to assemble them into a sentence. The number of students who are able to recognize the letters of Satera Jontal is very few, namely less than 30% of the total research subjects. This kind of condition is a very serious threat to the preservation of local letters. There needs to be a real intervention by related parties so that local letters do not become extinct in the future, one of which is re-teaching local letters into local content subjects.

Abstract

Recognizing place value is one of the basic skills in numeracy. Numerical ability can be seen through students' ability to recognize the place value of numbers. This study aims to analyze students' numeracy skills in terms of their ability to recognize place values in numbers. The research was conducted at one of the public elementary schools in the Central Lombok district. The type of research used is a descriptive survey. Data collection using tests. The instrument used is a place value test. The number of research samples was 110 elementary school students, with details of 53 low-grade students and 57 high-grade students. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. If viewed from the ability to recognize place values, students' numeracy abilities are included in the fairly good category. Overall out of 110 students 60% have recognized the place value of thousands. Most of the high-grade students already know the place value of the thousands, while the low-grade students are mostly still in the places value of units, tens, and hundreds. The number of students who know the value of the hundreds is 13%, the tens value is 16% and the unit value is 8%. The study also found fact that there were 3% of students were not familiar with numbers. Although overall students' numeracy skills are quite good, special attention needs to be given to high-grade students who are not able to recognize the place value of thousands and low-grade students who are not yet familiar with numbers.

Abstract

The instrument for measuring knowledge in the subject of Elementary School Curriculum Study and Development has been created to measure students' understanding of teacher candidates in applying concepts, implications and curriculum development at the elementary school level. In order to make reliable and feasible instrument for measuring students knowledge in the subject of Elementary School Curriculum Study and Development, this study aims to produce empirical evidence about the validity and reliability of test instruments using the Rasch model analysis. The study was conducted by testing 20 items on 142 elementary school teacher candidate at one of the State Universities in the City of Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara. The validity and reliability of the instrument were measured by the Rasch analysis model using the Winstep program. The one-dimensional testing of 20 items has a variance measured at 42.7% which exceeds the minimum points of 40.0% desired by the Rasch model. The reliability index of the respondents was 0.65 and the item reliability index was 0.98. All items show a positive value for Point Measure Correlation (PMC) in terms of item polarity which means there is no conflict between the item and the construct being measured. Outfit Mean Square value also shows that all items that almost all items have an MNSQ Outfit value smaller than 1.5 which means the measurement value can be said to be productive except for item 13 (3.77) and item 16 (3.77). Both of these items need to be re-examined because they have problems in measuring their validity. The results of this study have proven that the knowledge measurement test instrument in the Elementary School Curriculum Study and Development course has validity and reliability values that meet and are empirically feasible to be used in measuring Basic School Curriculum Study and Development knowledge for prospective teacher students.
