Abstract

Monkeypox is a zoonotic disease with increasing global prevalence, posing a significant challenge in healthcare. Its widespread transmission necessitates more accurate detection systems to assist medical professionals in diagnosing and managing cases effectively. One of the main challenges in developing monkeypox prediction models is class imbalance in datasets, which can cause models to favor the majority class and reduce predictive accuracy for rarer cases. To address this issue, this study evaluates the effectiveness of the SMOTEENN resampling technique in improving the classification performance of monkeypox cases. Three boosting algorithms Gradient Boosting, XGBoost, and LightGBM were applied to a monkeypox dataset consisting of 25,000 samples. The data preprocessing steps included handling missing values, feature encoding, and feature scaling. The dataset was then balanced using SMOTEENN, a hybrid technique combining the Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE) and Edited Nearest Neighbors (ENN). Additionally, hyperparameter tuning with GridSearchCV was performed to optimize model performance by systematically selecting the best parameter combinations. The results indicate that applying SMOTEENN significantly improved classification accuracy, achieving a maximum of 69%, with an F1-score of 67%. Compared to previous studies, the proposed approach demonstrated superior performance in handling class imbalance and enhancing classification robustness. These findings highlight the potential of SMOTEENN and boosting algorithms in medical data classification, particularly for infectious diseases with imbalanced datasets. This study contributes to the development of more reliable machine learning techniques for improving disease detection, classification accuracy, and overall model generalization. Future research should explore additional resampling techniques, deep learning architectures, and feature selection methods to further improve predictive performance in medical diagnostics.

Abstract

South Pringgasela Village, located in Pringgasela District, East Lombok Regency, is one of the areas at risk of natural disasters such as landslides and floods. To support reforestation and disaster mitigation, community service activities have been carried out by students of the 2021-2022 Mataram University Community Service Program (KKN). This activity focuses on planting trees on empty land and road cliffs around the Pancor Kopong tourist area, including the Goa Kopong spring tourist location. Tree planting is carried out to increase soil resistance to erosion and create a greener environment. The process of implementing the activity involved coordination with various parties, including village officials, mosque youth, and the local community. A total of 150 tree seedlings were successfully planted, with a growth success rate of 86% based on post-activity evaluations. The results of this activity show a positive impact on the environment, such as increasing the aesthetics of the tourist area, reducing disaster risks, and increasing public awareness of the importance of environmental conservation. This reforestation activity is expected to be the first step to encourage active community participation in protecting the environment and become a model for implementing conservation-based community service. Furthermore, the success of this program can be an inspiration for other regions in implementing disaster mitigation strategies through reforestation.

Abstract

The transition toward a sustainable future is increasingly dependent on the integration of renewable energy sources. This article explores the pivotal role that renewable energy plays in achieving sustainability goals. It discusses various forms of renewable energy, including solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal power, and examines their potential to reduce carbon emissions and mitigate climate change. Additionally, the article addresses the economic and social benefits of renewable energy, such as job creation, energy security, and reduced reliance on fossil fuels. The challenges and barriers to widespread adoption are also considered, alongside potential solutions and policy recommendations. Ultimately, this article underscores the necessity of renewable energy as a cornerstone in building a sustainable and resilient future for all.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian korelasional yang bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran hubungan pendekatan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi dengan minat belajar IPAS siswa kelas V SD Inpres 12/79 Lonrae Kecamatan Tanete Riattang Timur Kabupaten Bone. Jumlah populasi sebanyak 29 siswa kelas V dengan menggunakan Teknik sampel jenuh. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan angket. Teknik analisis data dengan menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis statiktik inferensial. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data statistik deskriktif diperoleh hasil penelitian rata-rata dari pretes 51,9 (kurang) sedangkan rata-rata dari posttest 81,03 (baik). Kesimpulan penelitian ini bahawa terdapat pengaruh penerapan pendekatan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi terhadap minat belajar IPAS siswa, yaitu ada perbedaan rata-rata hasil pre-tes dan post-test minat belajar siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui dampak pemberian reward terhadap minat belajar IPA siswa kelas V SDN 22 Jeppe’e. Fokus penelitian ini mencakup gambaran pembelajaran IPA serta dampak pemberian reward terhadap minat belajar siswa. Subjek penelitian adalah guru dan siswa kelas V SDN 22 Jeppe’e. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran IPA berjalan dengan baik dengan rata-rata angket siswa sebesar 95%. Reward yang diberikan guru berupa isyarat, acungan jempol, benda, penghormatan, tanda penghargaan, dan pujian mampu meningkatkan minat belajar siswa yang ditunjukkan dengan adanya pemusatan perhatian, perasaan senang, serta kemauan untuk aktif belajar. Dampak positif dari pemberian reward adalah meningkatnya motivasi dan partisipasi siswa. Namun, juga ditemukan dampak negatif seperti munculnya rasa iri antar siswa jika pemberian reward tidak dikelola secara adil. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian reward berpengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan minat belajar IPA siswa kelas V SDN 22 Jeppe’e Kecamatan Tanete Riattang Barat Kabupaten Bone.

Abstract

Pemetaan lahan terbangun penting dilakukan untuk dijadikan data dasar perencanaan tata ruang dan pengembangan kawasan. Lebih lanjut hal ini dapat dikateorikan upaya mitigasi bencana kawasan dengan kerentanan tinggi. Pemetaan lahan terbangun dilakukan dengan parameter Normalized Difference Built-up Index (NDBI) pada citra Landsat 8 OLI channel SWIR dan NIR. Hasil yang didapatkan pada Pulau Lombok, lahan terbangun tersebar secara merata di kawasan pesisir barat, utara, dan timur serta di bagian tengah ke selatan. Namun parameter NDBI belum dapat digunakan untuk membedakan lahan terbangun dengan lahan tandus.

Abstract

In classical fiqh, murâbahah is a simple sale and purchase contract that requires the seller to tell the truth about the cost and profit. This concept was later transformed in Islamic banking into murâbahah li al-âmir bi al-syira’, which introduced a credit sales system as a form of financing. This study reveals some contemporary world fatwas regarding the murâbahah li al-âmir bi al-syirâ’ contract with a qualitative-descriptive approach through library research. The results of the study show that there is ikhtilaf among contemporary scholars regarding the permissibility of the practice of this contract, with some critics calling the dominance of Murâbahah in Islamic banking products a ‘deviation from Islamic principles’ and encouraging Islamic banking to switch to a financing model based on profit loss sharing. However, some scholars in Islamic countries have issued fatwas accepting this contract with some stipulations that should not be violated by Islamic banks, otherwise, the validity of this contract should be doubted.

Abstract

Liver merupakan salah satu organ penting dalam tubuh manusia yang berperan dalam proses metabolisme tubuh. Mengutip artikel dari situs American Liver Foundation, pada tahun 2020 sebanyak 51.642 orang dewasa di Amerika Serikat meninggal akibat penyakit liver. Data hasil tes fungsi liver dari laboratorium dapat digunakan untuk mendiagnosis penyakit liver. Klasifikasi penyakit liver pada pasien perlu dilakukan dengan baik karena hasilnya dapat membantu dalam diagnosis awal apakah seorang pasien mengidap penyakit liver. Berdasarkan penelitian sebelumnya, metode Support Vector Machine (SVM) paling baik dalam mengklasifikasikan pasien penyakit liver. Namun, SVM memiliki kelemahan ketika diterapkan pada dataset dengan kelas yang tidak seimbang dan tidak bekerja secara akurat ketika terlalu banyak fitur yang tidak relevan digunakan. Untuk menyeimbangkan kelas pada dataset, digunakan metode Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE). Sedangkan untuk seleksi fitur dilakukan menggunakan metode Ensemble Filter, terdiri dari metode Information Gain, Gain Ratio, dan Relief-F untuk menangani fitur-fitur tidak relevan. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian, penerapan SMOTE dan Ensemble Filter pada metode klasifikasi SVM memberikan hasil terbaik dengan nilai accuracy sebesar 85% dan AUC sebesar 0,850. Pengujian tersebut dapat membuktikan jika SMOTE pada penyeimbangan kelas dan Ensemble Filter pada seleksi fitur dapat meningkatkan performa klasifikasi dari metode SVM.    Abstract   The liver is one of the important organs in the human body that plays a role in the body's metabolic processes. Quoting an article from the American Liver Foundation website, in 2020, as many as 51,642 adults in the United States died from liver disease. Liver function test data from the laboratory can be used to diagnose liver disease. Classification of liver disease in patients needs to be done well because the results can help in the initial diagnosis of whether a patient has liver disease. Based on previous research, the Support Vector Machine (SVM) method best classifies liver disease patients. However, SVM has weaknesses when applied to datasets with unbalanced classes and does not work accurately when too many irrelevant features are used. To class-balance the dataset, the Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE) method is used. Meanwhile, feature selection is performed using the Ensemble Filter method, which consists of Information Gain, Gain Ratio, and Relief-F methods to handle irrelevant features. Based on the test results, the application of SMOTE and Ensemble Filter in SVM classification gives the best results with an accuracy value of 85% and an AUC of 0.850. The test can prove if SMOTE on class balancing and Ensemble Filter on feature selection can improve the classification performance of the SVM method.

Abstract

The spatial arrangement patterns of rural areas are generally closely related to the natural environment and surrounding ecological, spiritual, and theological values. Kampung Genuren, the location chosen for the reconstruction of the Umah Pitu Ruang, is characterized by the presence of agricultural and plantation lands within its residential area. Moreover, Kampung Genuren is one of the traditional villages that still adheres to the Gayo cultural system, with a well-preserved rural atmosphere—both in terms of the local community’s activities and the environmental conditions. These characteristics make Kampung Genuren an appropriate site for the Umah Pitu Ruang reconstruction. The community's cultural practices and land use patterns help reveal various potential characteristics of the spatial settlement pattern in Kampung Genuren. These elements form the analytical foundation for identifying both opportunities and challenges that may arise at the study site, particularly in relation to the location and process of the Umah Pitu Ruang reconstruction, which is the main objective of this research. Based on field findings, the researcher conducted a site study using a descriptive qualitative method. The analysis of existing conditions was supported by map-based analysis through several stages to obtain primary data, which then served as a reference for identifying the spatial pattern characteristics of Kampung Genuren. The research was conducted over approximately three months. The initial stage involved collecting secondary data, followed by the acquisition of primary data through several journal references. These data were then processed and described using field documentation results, and visualized in map form using software applications such as ArcGIS, Google Earth, satellite imagery, and other supporting tools. The research concludes that several supporting facilities in the form of nearly extinct traditional buildings will be provided as a means to revive and preserve Gayo culture through the reconstruction of Umah Pitu Ruang.

Abstract

Matematika adalah ilmu eksak yang berperan sebagai media untuk menstimulasi cara berpikir peserta didik agar lebih terstruktur dan logis. Faktanya, pembelajaran matematika terbilang sulit dan hasil belajar peserta didik pun terbilang rendah. Hal ini memerlukan solusi berupa penggunaan model problem based learning agar mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika terutama di SMPN 5 Masbagik. Diketahui bahwa model pembelajaran berdampak pada hasil belajar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri dari 2 siklus dengan tiap siklus terdiri dari 4 tahapan (perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan, dan refleksi). Jumlah sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 25 orang. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa tes pilihan ganda dan dianalisis dengan deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peninngkatan hasil belajar peserta didik pada mata pelajaran matematika setelah melaksanakan pembelajaran dengan model problem based learning selama 2 siklus.
