Abstract

The Brigif retention pond not only serves to temporarily store rainwater for groundwater reserving but also reduces the risk of flooding in the Southern Jakarta area. Research was purposed to study two critical conditions of a dike made from clayey material from before to after water impounding stages correlating with its stability. The research will investigate pore-water pressure (u) parameter changes at any stage in both conditions. The parameter of (u) can be predicted (upre) using the laboratory consolidation or oedometer test and measured (uact) completely with hydrostatic pressure (u0) directly in the field. Actual measurements using a piezometer were also conducted on the body of the dike. The prediction analysis used the self-developed program and conventional geotechnical software. The critical peak depth of (u) was found at 3.0 to 4.0 m. The actual settlement potential values reached -0.10 to -1.42 m and matched the prediction result. Safety factor (SF) was around 2.0 to 4.0, or in stable condition. Research results found that the magnitude parameter of (u) could be influenced by groundwater flow and porosity or void ratio fluctuations. The consolidation process also would affect the physical soil pore, contributing to the change of (SF) the dike pond.

Abstract

The problems in this research are as follows: 1) What is the poetry-writing ability of class X students at Sinar Husni Private High School before the genius learning method in stylistics is applied? 2) What is the poetry-writing ability of class X students at Sinar Husni Private High School after applying the genius learning method in stylistics? 3) Is the genius learning method effective in improving the poetry-writing ability of class X students at Sinar Husni Private High School? The objectives of this research are: 1) to determine the poetry-writing ability of the class and 2) to determine the poetry-writing ability of the class academic year 2024-2025. An experimental method is used in this study. The instrument used to collect data is a test in the form of a test essay. The test was used to determine students’ post-writing abilities. To determine the average student score, the data processing technique that the author uses is the average formula (mean), determines the standard deviation, and then determine the final score. The results of the research show that the ability to write poetry in class X of Sinar Husni Private High School for the 2024 academic year -2025 using the genius learning method in literary stylistics, is better than using conventional methods. Thus, the genius learning method in literary stylistics can improve the ability of class X students of Sinar Husni Private High School for the 2024-2025 academic year. This is proven by the value of "t0" in this study being 5.57 where the "t" table is 1.697 within the significance standard of 0.05 or 5%. Means “t0” is greater than “tt.”

Abstract

The problem in this research is the relationship between attitudes towards literature and the ability to read short stories together with the narrative writing skills of class X SMA Swasta RK Bintang Timur Pematangsiantar students. The aim of this research is to describe the relationship between attitudes towards literature and the ability to read short stories, together with the narrative writing skills of class X SMA Swasta RK Bintang Timur Pematangsiantar students. The method used in this study was a descriptive method using correlation analysis techniques. The author used this method because the author wanted to find the relationship between the three variables in this research, namely attitudes towards literature (X1), ability to read short stories (X2), and narrative writing skills as variable Y. The population in this study was all classes, and the instruments used in data collection were tests and questionnaires. Tests were used to obtain data on short story reading abilities and narrative writing skills, and questionnaires were used to obtain data on students' attitudes towards the literature. The research results showed that "There is a significant relationship between attitudes towards literature and the ability to read short stories together with narrative writing skills by class X SMA Swasta RK Bintang Timur Pematangsiantar students at a significance level of 5%". Compared with the assessment criteria that had been proposed previously, it turns out that the t-test value is greater than ttable, so hypothesis Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Thus, attitudes towards literature have a significant relationship with students' narrative writing skills, and the ability to read short stories also has a significant relationship with Class X students' narrative writing skills at RK Bintang Timur Private High School Pematangsiantar
