Abstract

Science learning based on the 2013 curriculum is implemented in scientific inquiry to develop scientific work. The purpose of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of guided inquiry model with mind mapping to improve science process skill and student learning motivation. The research is used quasi experimental model with nonequivalent control group design. Data collection methods used in this research include test methods, observation, interviews and documentation. The data were analyzed by using quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the use of guided inquiry model with mind mapping effective to improve science process skill and motivation of fourth grade student of SDN Krobokan. There is a significant difference of science skill score between experimental and control class with significance level of 5%. The acquisition of experimental class obtain N-Gain value of 0.47 in medium category and control class 0.27 in low category. The guided inquiry model with mind mapping is also effective in student learning motivation. This is evidenced by the score of motivation to learn in the experimental class that is 76 on the satisfied category and control class of 72 in good category. The results of correlation test shows a very strong relationship between the science process skills with student learning motivation. It shown from the correlation value of 0.938 with 1% significance level and the direction of positive relationships,. It can be conclude that the higher the score of students' science process skills the higher the student learning motivation.

Abstract

The purpose abstract of this research is (1) analyze the mastery of the concepts in fourth grade in inquiry learning guided; (2) analyze the attitude  fourth grade students in inquiry learning guided; (3) analyze the science process skills in fourth grade in inquiry learning’s guided; (4) analyze the different in mastery of concepts, science process skills and scientific attitudes between other students in fourth grade who learn using conventional learning with inquiry learning’s guided. The type of research which has used is quantitative quasi-experimental research method with nonequivalent control group design. The population of the study consist of all fourth-grade students who have ranked includes the Papak Group of Papak Group, Leuwimunding sub-district, Majalengka District. The sample has been selected through a purposive sampling technique, so SDN Rajawangi I was chosen as the control class and SDN Ciparai II as an experimental class. The techniques of data collection using non-test techniques, including interview guidelines, observation guidelines, and documentation. The result of the study show that (1) the application of the guide inquiry approach influences the mastery of concepts are increasing in the N-gain value in the medium category with a score of 0.61; (2) the application of the guide inquiry approach influences the mastery of concepts are increasing in the N-gain value in the medium category with a score of 0.64; (3) the application of the guide inquiry approach influences the science process skills, namely an increase in the N-gain value inquiry in the medium  category  a score of 0.64; (4) guided inquiry approach can improve mastery of concepts, scientific attitudes and science skill of science. The Sig score obtained is less than 0.05 so, it can be applied that there is mastery of concepts, scientific attitudes and science process skills of students after the guided inquiry approach has been applied with the media in the school environment.

Abstract

This research aims to find out validity and reliability of mini research based learning material supplement for fifth graders primary school. This research and development (R&D) had stages started from: identifying potency and problem, collecting the data by using questionnaire, observation, interview, pre-test question and post-test, designing product in the form of mini research based learning material under theme respiration system of human as learning supplement with current developed topic about the danger of smoking for human health, validating the design done by media and material experts, revising the design based on judgment, critics, and experts? advices, and testing the products done at VB graders of Islamic Primary School Ta?allamul Huda Bumiayu. The data was analyzed descriptive qualitatively. The finding showed that the media and the subject content experts giving average score of 3.48 (87%) and 3.94 (98.33%), respectively. Based on the teacher?s judgment, the average score obtained 3.20 (80%) and judgment given by students showed average score 3.82 (95.49%). The judgment from media and subject content experts, teachers, and students showed that the supplement was reliable. The implementation of this product to measure conceptual understanding and showed improvement from 42.54 into 74.77 with N-gain 0.55, categorized as moderate. The students? attitudes dealing with smoking showed N-gain 0.39, categorized moderate with improvement score from 82.33 into 87.67, categorized to gave negative respons for smoking attitude. The learning material supplement based on mini research under theme human respiration system was valid and reliable to be used as learning materials for fifth graders.

Abstract

Embedding integrated character in learning is still a problem in implementation in schools, especially the development of the value of curiosity in science learning. This research aims to describe the value of the character of students curiosity in science learning; analyze the signs of curiosity character values that emerge; and know the obstacles experienced when applying the character of curiosity in the science learning process. This research used a qualitative research method, namely, case study research. Research in Elementary School 4 Besito Kudus. Research respondents included 16 fifth grade students and fifth-grade teachers. Data collection using interviews, observation, questionnaires, and documentation. Triangulation is used as a data validity test. The process of data analysis through the process of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results showed that the enthusiasm of students in the scientific process, enthusiastic about looking for answers; the emergence of the character of curiosity in science learning is carried out by the teacher in teaching by providing practice; and different backgrounds affect the character of children and the role of teachers and parents in encouraging student curiosity, so it can be concluded that the formation of curiosity characters in science learning through a scientific approach in elementary school, it is necessary to get used to teaching and learning activities.

Abstract

This research innovation is developing problem-solving-based science teaching materials that can help students solve problems in daily life and science and teaching materials can be tested for feasibility. This research is an important step in providing innovation in the development of science teaching materials and forming changes in the form an increase in students critical thingking and logical thingking skills. This research aims to develop problem-solving-based science teaching materials to improve the critical thinking and logical thinking skills of the learners. This Research & Development adopted Sugiyono’s model. The research design used was one groups pretest-posttest design with the member of subject were 58 students. The data collection techniques were interview, test, and questionnaire. The results of the interview show that there is a need for innovation in the development of science teaching materials. The results based on tes show that the problem-solving-based science teaching materials influenced the critical thinking and logical thinking skill improvements with the classical accomplishment 89%. The N-Gain score is 0.70, categorized high. The results based questinnaire show the teachers’ responses were 100% considered the material was very excellent. The results of the learners’ responses showed a percentage of 96.75% considered the material was very excellent. The content reliability, validity, display, and graph obtained a percentage of 86.54%, categorized as very reliable. Thus, the problem-solving-based teaching material was reliable for the learners to solve the lesson related to daily life. It could also improve the critical thinking and logical thinking skills of the learners.

Abstract

Learning with the 2013 curriculum requires the use of various learning resources, learning media and teaching materials that vary to support the learning process.. These results of the students being constrained in learning the material because the material in the book is too little, so it is difficult to understand. This study aims to analyze the effect of PBL-based supplementary teaching materials on the concept mastery and health care attitude. This study used a quasi-experimental method with nonequivalent control group research design. The samples used were VA and VB SDIT Tazkia Insani classes. The instruments used were tests, attitude scale sheets, observation sheets, interviews, and notes. The results showed that after being given action in the experimental class, students' concept mastery and health care attitudes increased. The conclusions of this study are 1) PBL-based supplementary teaching materials on human respiration affect mastery of concepts. 2) Supplements of PBL-based teaching materials on human respiration influence health care attitudes. 3) Supplements of PBL-based teaching materials on human respiration have a received a positive response from teachers and students. 4) Supplements of PBL-based teaching materials on human respiration have a relationship between concept mastery and health care attitudes
