Abstract

The reading interest of Indonesians is still relatively low, especially in rural areas. A similar condition was found in Tenrigangkae Village, where children spend more time with their gadgets than reading books. To address this issue, a reading corner program was designed as an alternative means of improving basic literacy by providing a simple, comfortable, and child-friendly reading space. This study used a qualitative descriptive method with a field research approach, through the stages of preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the reading corner, which was rearranged with a diverse collection of reading materials, simple decorations, and supported by joint literacy activities, was able to attract children's enthusiasm for reading. The evaluation showed positive behavioral changes, namely an increase in interest, involvement, and reading habits. These findings confirm that reading corners not only function as book storage spaces but also as effective educational tools in fostering a culture of literacy in rural areas. Prospects for developing this program include adding to the reading collection, organizing ongoing literacy activities, and involving teachers and parents so that it can be replicated as a model for community-based literacy empowerment

Abstract

The development of digital technology has opened up great opportunities for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to expand their markets through digital-based marketing strategies. However, MSME players in Tenrigangkae Village still face limitations in digital literacy, social media utilization, and marketplace management. This community service article aims to improve the digital marketing capacity of MSME actors through a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach that emphasizes active participation in every stage. The activities carried out include an initial survey, discussions with partners, as well as socialization and assistance in creating Instagram and Shopee accounts. This community service article shows an increase in the understanding and skills of MSME players in managing social media, uploading products, editing photos, and developing more effective promotional strategies. This program not only increases the competitiveness of MSMEs locally but also opens up marketing opportunities to a wider market. This community service article concludes that practice-based mentoring can have a tangible impact on SME development and has the potential to be replicated in other regions with similar contexts.

Abstract

The Rumah Belajar Ceria program was implemented as part of the community service component of the KKN-PPL program of Universitas Negeri Makassar in Tenrigangkae Village, aiming to enhance elementary school students’ motivation and understanding of Mathematics and English. This initiative was driven by limited learning facilities and a lack of academic support outside school hours, causing children to spend more time playing without academic guidance. The program was conducted informally in three phases: planning, implementation, and evaluation. The learning strategy emphasized interactive, contextual, and game-based approaches. The results showed increased motivation, participation, and confidence among students, along with significant improvement in understanding basic concepts. In addition, the program received positive support from parents and the community, strengthening social bonds between students, parents, and university students. These findings highlight that informal game-based learning models can serve as an alternative solution to improve both educational quality and community empowerment in rural areas.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan GeoGebra sebagai media pembelajaran matematika kepada siswa SMA Negeri 4 Parepare. Pelatihan dilaksanakan melalui program Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek kegiatan adalah 25 siswa kelas XI. Tahapan pelatihan meliputi persiapan, pengenalan fitur dasar GeoGebra, demonstrasi materi (fungsi kuadrat, SPLDV, dan SPLTV), praktik mandiri, diskusi-refleksi dengan integrasi Kahoot, serta evaluasi melalui angket. Data diperoleh dari observasi, dokumentasi, dan kuesioner respon siswa. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa siswa merespon positif kegiatan ini: penyampaian materi dinilai jelas, modul bermanfaat, dan penggunaan GeoGebra membuat pembelajaran lebih menarik dan interaktif. Integrasi Kahoot sebagai media evaluasi semakin meningkatkan antusiasme siswa sekaligus memperkuat pemahaman konsep melalui visualisasi. Kendala yang ditemui adalah keterbatasan waktu praktik dan pengalaman awal siswa dalam menggunakan aplikasi. Secara keseluruhan, pelatihan ini berhasil memperlihatkan bahwa GeoGebra dapat menjadi media pembelajaran yang inovatif dan bermakna dalam mendukung pemahaman matematika di tingkat SMA.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to enhance the quantitative data processing competency of undergraduate students through a Statisty.app-based workshop held at Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM) on April 25, 2026. Statisty.app is a free, web-based statistical analysis platform requiring no installation. A total of 53 students participated in the pre-test and 48 in the post-test, predominantly from the first and second semester (92.5%) and with no prior training in data analysis (94.3%). The workshop covered six sessions: introduction to quantitative data, Statisty.app orientation, data preparation, validity and reliability testing, descriptive and inferential analysis, and interpretation of statistical results. A pre-post test design was employed using a 10-item Likert-scale instrument aligned with the workshop sessions. The Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test was used due to non-normal pre-test score distribution. Results revealed a statistically significant improvement in student competency (W = 80.500, p < 0.001), with a large effect size (Cohen's d = 1.110) and a mean Normalized Gain of 35.4% (moderate category). Workshop evaluation scores were consistently high across all dimensions (M = 3.94–4.15 out of 5). These findings indicate that a structured, application-based workshop using accessible tools effectively improves students' quantitative research competency for academic writing.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi Artificial Intelligence (AI) membuka peluang besar bagi guru untuk merancang evaluasi pembelajaran yang lebih efektif, efisien, dan adaptif. Namun demikian, masih banyak guru yang belum familiar dengan platform berbasis AI yang dirancang khusus untuk kebutuhan pendidikan, termasuk di lingkungan UPT SPF SMP Negeri 26 Makassar. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam membuat alat evaluasi pembelajaran berbasis AI menggunakan platform Brisk Teaching. Metode yang digunakan adalah pelatihan partisipatif berbasis pendampingan yang dilaksanakan secara tatap muka dalam satu hari, dengan melibatkan 23 orang guru sebagai peserta. Kegiatan meliputi pengenalan platform Brisk Teaching, pendaftaran akun, serta praktik langsung pembuatan soal evaluasi melalui dua fitur utama, yaitu berbasis video YouTube dan integrasi Google Docs, yang hasilnya diekspor ke dalam Google Form. Setiap guru mempraktikkan pembuatan soal sesuai dengan mata pelajaran yang diampunya masing-masing. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa hampir seluruh peserta berhasil membuat soal evaluasi secara mandiri, para guru menunjukkan antusias yang sangat tinggi, dan hasil angket evaluasi mencerminkan tingkat kepuasan peserta yang baik terhadap pelaksanaan pelatihan. Kegiatan ini diharapkan menjadi titik awal transformasi digital dalam praktik evaluasi pembelajaran di UPT SPF SMP Negeri 26 Makassar

Abstract

Desa Terampil program is an implementation of the awareness about the importance of mastering skills in using technology, especially in the fields of education and economy. This program was implemented by the KKN Tematik Team of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Makassar in two places, which are SMK Negeri 3 Bone and SMP Negeri 1 Libureng. The main objectives of this program are to improve the ability of teachers to use Canva in making learning media and disseminating information about the QRIS digital payment system. The results obtained are that teachers can use Canva in making learning media and students and teachers recognize and can use QRIS in transactions.

Abstract

Desa Sehat merupakan program kerja yang diusung oleh mahasiswa dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan kesehatan masyarakat dan mencegah penyebaran penyakit di Desa Bune melalui beberapa kegiatan, seperti penyuluhan kesehatan gigi dan mulut, senam, dan Jumat Bersih. Berdasarkan hasil survei situasi dan lapangan, salah satu masalah masyarakat adalah terkait masalah tentang kesehatan yaitu masih rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat Desa Bune dalam menjaga kesehatan diri dan kebersihan lingkungan. Oleh karena itu, Tim KKN Tematik UNM 2023 melalui program Desa Sehat diharapkan mampu menjawab permasalahan masyarakat. Melalui program ini dapat memberdayakan masyarakat Desa Bune untuk hidup sehat sebagai penunjang kesejahteraan masyarakat melalui kegiatan kesehatan dan olahraga. Dalam program ini terdapat 3 kegiatan yang dilaksanakan yaitu penyuluhan/edukasi kesehatan gigi dan mulut, senam dan jumat bersih. Program Desa Sehat ini diikuti oleh seluruh kalangan masyarakat Desa Bune. Dalam program ini ada yang bersifat rutin dan ada yang hanya satu kali pelaksanaan. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat yang menjadi sasaran memberikan respon yang baik dan kontribusi yang besar terhadap program yang dilaksanakan.

Abstract

This study was conducted to comprehensively examine the presentation of exponents in the Grade 10 Mathematics textbook (Revised Edition 2023) published by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. This study focuses on analyzing the structure of the concept map, alignment with national learning objectives, depth of material essence, relevance of the context used, and mapping the strengths and weaknesses of the textbook. A qualitative approach was used, employing content analysis through systematic documentation study. Research findings show that exponents are arranged coherently and hierarchically, and integrated with various real-life contexts, such as population growth, virus spread, and compound interest. This textbook encourages the development of higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) through the presentation of questions at the cognitive levels of analyzing (C4), evaluating (C5), and creating (C6) according to Bloom's Taxonomy. However, this study also found several important limitations, including inconsistencies between the material map and chapter content, particularly regarding the existence of logarithms, the density of material content that could potentially reduce the depth of student understanding, and the absence of explicit instructions and difficulty indicators for complex questions. Based on these findings, this study recommends the need to adjust the material map, separate the discussion of logarithms into a separate chapter, and add reflective guidance to exploration activities to support student independent learning in line with the spirit of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to conduct a critical review of the Merdeka Curriculum Grade 10 Mathematics Textbook (Revised Edition 2023) on trigonometric ratios. The study focuses on analyzing the structure of the concept map, the suitability of the material with the learning objectives using the ABCD framework (Audience, Behavior, Condition, Degree), the depth of mathematical essence, the identification of problems in the presentation of material, and the evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of the textbook. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with documentation study and content analysis techniques on the textbook as the object of research. The results show that the book presents the material systematically, contextually, and supports active learning through varied exploration and visual representation activities. However, several problems were found, including the lack of a strong connection between prerequisite concepts, the absence of a conceptual bridge between exploration and formal symbolization, a high level of abstraction of concepts without adequate reinforcement of representations, the dominance of high-level cognitive exercises without gradual differentiation, and the presentation of special angle material that tends to be procedural. In addition, the formulation of learning objectives did not fully meet the ABCD components, particularly in terms of conditions and degree of achievement. Therefore, improvements are needed in the conceptual structure, strengthening the transition from concrete to symbolic contexts, providing graded exercises, and formulating more specific and measurable learning objectives to optimally support students' conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills.
