Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of Think Pair Share on the ability to develop hikayat text into short stories of class X SMA Negeri 2 Batusangkar students. Quantitative research is a type of research conducted using experimental methods. One Group Pretest-Posttest design is an experimental design used in this study. The data of this research is the result of the final test of converting short story text. Through pre-test and post-test, data was collected that showed students' ability to develop hikayat text into short stories. The t-test result was 10.731> 1. 68, meaning that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. So, it can be concluded that there is an average difference between the results of the pretest and posttest, which means that there is an effect of Think Pair Share to develop the skills of hikayat text into short story text of class X SMA Negeri 2 Batusangkar students.

Abstract

This article was written to explain the influence of the CIRC (Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition) cooperative learning model on the reading comprehension skills of persuasive texts for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Pariaman. The research data is the score of the objective test results before using this type of cooperative learning model with the score after getting treatment using this learning model. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that there are three results that become findings, namely as follows. First, the reading comprehension skills of persuasive texts before using the cooperative learning model type CIRC (Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition) class VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Pariaman are in the "Enough" qualification (C) with an average of 66.19. Second, the reading comprehension skills of persuasive texts after using the cooperative learning model type CIRC (Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition) class VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Pariaman are in the "Good" qualification (B) with an average of 80.58. Third, there is a significant influence on the use of the CIRC type cooperative learning model on the reading comprehension skills of persuasive texts for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Pariaman.

Abstract

The implementation of learning short story writing skills is still oriented towards completing tasks designed by the teacher. Also, it seems conventional, so developing students' short story writing skills takes time and effort. Through this research, the authors review the effect of the project-based learning model on learning outcomes for students with high and low achievement motivation; and the interaction between the project-based learning model and achievement motivation. This research belongs to the quantitative research that applies the experimental method, involving two sample classes: class X hospitality 2 as the experimental class and class X clothing 4 as the control class. The results of the data analysis provide conclusions. First, the project-based learning model influences student learning outcomes. Second, the project-based learning model influences students' learning outcomes with high achievement motivation. Third, project-based learning model influences the learning outcomes of students with low achievement motivation. The project-based learning learning model can be used as an effective alternative learning model in improving students' short story writing skills.

Abstract

The credit granting process in savings and loan cooperatives often faces obstacles in terms of objectivity and efficiency of assessment of prospective debtors. Manual and subjective assessments have the potential to result in inaccurate decisions and increase the risk of problematic credit. This study aims to develop a Decision Support System (DSS) in credit granting by implementing the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) algorithm combined with the Entropy weighting method. The SAW method was chosen because of its ability to calculate aggregate values ​​against a number of criteria, while the Entropy method is used to determine the weight of the criteria objectively based on data variations. The criteria used include monthly income, credit history, number of dependents, length of membership, and history of installment ratio to income. The results of the study showed that the system was able to systematically sort 15 alternative customers. Based on the final calculation results, the customer who obtained the highest score of 0.862 and was ranked first as the best candidate for credit recipients. These results indicate that the SAW method with Entropy weighting can provide objective recommendations and help make more appropriate decisions in granting credit. The main contribution of this research is to provide a technology-based tool that can improve accuracy, transparency, and efficiency in the creditworthiness evaluation process in savings and loan cooperatives.

Abstract

The main focus of this research is applying the Scramble learning model assisted by Educandy media as an interactive approach to overcome student difficulties so that the quality of learning can improve. The research method used was an experiment using score data from a test of understanding archaic words. The population of this research is all class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Keritang for the 2023/2024 academic year, with a total of 259 students. The research results show an influence of the scramble learning model assisted by Educandy media on understanding archaic words. This is proven by obtaining the price value tcount > ttable with df = 63 and α = 0.05, namely 1.673 > 1.669, meaning that H0 is rejected. Thus, it can be proven that the scramble learning model assisted by Educandy media influences the understanding of archaic words in the saga texts of class X SMA Negeri 1 Keritang students. This research implies that using the Scramble learning model assisted by Educandy media is an effective alternative learning method in Islamic education. Islamic education management can consider integrating technology and interactive approaches such as those proposed in this research as strategies to improve the quality of learning in educational institutions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan konjungsi dalam berita nasional kompas.com Edisi Sabtu, 20 Mei 2023. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu teknik baca keseluruh isi dan catat kata konjungsi yang ada di dalam berita sehingga data yang diperoleh menjadi konkret. Berdasarkan analisis data yang dilakukan diperoleh jenis konjungsi yang ditemukan yakni konjungsi dan, tetapi, karena, saat, untuk. Konjungsi dan digunakan untuk menyatukan ide atau pernyataan sejajar, sementara tetapi menyoroti perbedaan atau kontrast antara dua unsur. Konjungsi karena menggambarkan sebab-akibat, menjelaskan alasan atau sebab di balik suatu pernyataan. Kata saat digunakan untuk menunjukkan waktu atau situasi tertentu di mana suatu peristiwa terjadi, dan kata untuk menyatakan tujuan atau maksud dari suatu tindakan. Implikasinya, penggunaan konjungsi memperkaya ekspresi bahasa dan membantu menyampaikan informasi dengan lebih terstruktur, membimbing pembaca melalui alur pikiran yang logis, serta menyampaikan variasi makna dalam kalimat.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze grammatical cohesion in the form of references in three short stories from the October 2017 edition of Kompas: Sepucuk Amplop di Taman (Envelope in the Garden), Tanah Warisan Asal (Ancestral Heritage Land), and Toko Wong (Wong's Shop). The study focused on the types of grammatical references, such as personal and demonstrative references, used to establish coherence and coherence in the text. A qualitative descriptive approach was used based on the KORTARA corpus (Nusantara Referential Language Corpus) to identify and classify reference forms and their frequency. The analysis showed that the most dominant type of reference was the first-person singular "aku," which strengthens the narrator's position in the story. Meanwhile, demonstrative references such as "ini," "itu," "sini," and "kini" also support the spatial and temporal context of the narrative. This study demonstrates that the use of references not only serves to maintain clarity of reference in the text but also plays a crucial role in forming a cohesive narrative structure. By examining grammatical cohesion through a corpus approach, this research contributes to linguistic studies and Indonesian language teaching, particularly in understanding the interrelationships between sentences in literary discourse. This research also opens up opportunities for further studies examining grammatical cohesion in various other text genres, such as news, essays, or academic texts.
