Abstract

The aims of this research are as to describe the social values and to describe the most dominant social values in the novel Laluir by Haji Abdul Karim Amrullah (HAMKA). This is qualitative research with descriptive method. The data of this research are event units in the form of words, phrases, clauses, or sentences that identify social values in the form of a narrator's narration about characters, actions of characters, and speeches of characters in the background of the novel. The source of the research data is the novel Laluir by HAMKA published by Gema Insani in 2016. The data collection was conducted by reading and understanding the novel, identifying the characters, identifying the event units, and identifying data related to social values in the novel. Overall, 31 data on social values were found in the novel Laluir by Haji Abdul Makil Karim Amrullah. Each of these social values are 10 values of love, 6 values of social responsibility, 5 social values of caring, 6 social values of empathy, and 4 social values of helping. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that social values in the novel Laluir by Haji Abdul Makil Karim Amrullah arise because of the speech of the characters and the narrator and the action of taking h in learning the novel text of high school students of class XII.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low poetry writing skills of tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 5 Pariaman, which are attributed to inappropriate teaching models, students’ fear of learning activities, lack of enthusiasm, and low creativity in writing poetry. These factors indicate the need for more effective teaching approaches to improve students’ learning outcomes in poetry writing. This study aims to describe the poetry text writing skills of class X students of SMA Negeri 5 Pariaman using the Project Based Learning model assisted animated video media, to describe the poetry text writing skills of class X students of SMA Negeri 5 Pariaman using conventional learning models, and to explain the effect of the Project Based Learning model assisted by animated media on the poetry text writing skills of class X students of SMA Negeri 5 Pariaman. This type of research is quantitative research with an experimental method.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas kajian sosilinguistik, tepatnya analisis penggunaan campur kode pada laman Twitter Collegemenfess. Laman Twitter ini merupakan salah satu auto base dengan pengikut terbanyak di Indonesia. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Setelah dilakukan penelitian, ditemukan penggunaan campur kode pada cuitan di Collegemenfess. Data yang ditemukan berupa sepuluh campur kode ke luar dan lima campur kode ke dalam. Penggunaan campur kode yang ditemukan berupa kata dasar, frasa, istilah dan kalimat. Penggunaan campur kode ke luar yang ditemukan yakni pada bahasa Inggris, lalu penggunaan campur kode ke dalam ditemukan pada bahasa Jawa, Sunda, dan Medan. Dapat disimpulkan, pengguna auto base Collegemenfess dalam berinteraksi di Twitter sering kali menggunakan campur kode untuk menyampaikan maksudnya.

Abstract

This article analyzes the folk tales of Pla Bu Thong and Bawang Putih Bawang Merah. These two stories have two countries, namely Thailand and Indonesia, which are located in the Southeast Asia region. These two folk tales were taken from the online library. The two folktales as data sources are compared to see the differences and similarities in these parts. By making a comparison, it was found that there were differences between the three stories in the elements of characters and characterization as well as the way in which the problems they faced were resolved. The existence of parts that show these differences at a further stage shows similarities. Differences in character and characterization are equalized by characters who both have the same temperament and family background. The difference is the location chosen to solve the problem. The differences in several elements that make up literary works lead to the same aims and objectives.

Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini perkembangan teknologi semakin pesat dalam kehidupan manusia di berbagai macam bidang, salah satunya pada bidang pendidikan. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan Research and Development (RD). Model pengembangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model 4-D terdiri dari empat tahapan, yaitu: 1) define, 2) design, 3) develop, dan 4) disseminate. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data instrumen angket yang disebarkan kepada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 34 Padang. Berdasarkan hasil analisis angket kebutuhan siswa, mendapatkan hasil bahwa 83% siswa membutuhkan media pembelajaran digital. Terdapat 3 aspek pada angket penelitian, yaitu kebutuhan siswa dalam aspek proses pembelajaran memperoleh presentase 84%, kebutuhan siswa dalam aspek media pembelajaran 84%, dan kebutuhan siswa dalam aspek isi bahan ajar 80%. Hasil rata-rata presentase seluruh aspek, sebesar 83% sehingga masuk ke dalam kategori “sangat layak”. Dari hasil analisis angket kebutuhan siswa, disimpulkan perlunya peneliti mengembangkan media pembelajaran berupa e-book interaktif berbasis kearifan lokal.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat bagaimana kontribusi sosiolinguistik dalam pembelajaran teks fabel dengan menggunakan pendekatan komunikatif pada kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Kerinci. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah proses pembelajaran teks fabel dengan pendekatan komunikatif. Dalam pengumpulan data teknik yang digunakan adalah wawancara dengan guru dan siswa, hal ini mengingat keterbatasan akses dan ruang gerak pada masa pandemi sekarang ini. Adapun hasil yang diperoleh adalah pada pembelajaran teks fabel kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Kerinci dapat diterapkan pendekatan komunikatif dengan baik. pembelajaran tersebut dimulai dari pembuka, inti, dan penutup yang kesemua langkah tersebut memperhatikan prinsip pendekatan komunikatif. Dalam pembelajaran dengan pendekatan komunikatif tersebut juga terdapat kontribusi sosiolinguistik di dalamnya, mulai dari proses penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran, pelaksanaan pembelajaran, hingga penggunaan bahasa dalam proses pembelajaran. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam pembelajaran teks fabel terdapat kontribusi kajian sosiolinguistik dalam menerapkan pendekatan komunikatif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Picture and Picture terhadap keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Pendalian IV Koto. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif metode eksperimen. Rancangan penelitian ini One Group Pretest and Postest. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII C SMPN 1 Pendalian IV Koto yang berjumlah 22 orang. Hasil penelitian ini, yaitu pertama, keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa sebelum menggunakan model picture and picture berada pada kualifikasi Cukup (C) dengan rata-rata 56.25. Kedua, keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa setelah menggunakan model picture and picture berada pada kualifikasi Baik (B) dengan rata-rata 80.3. Ketiga, berdasarkan uji-t, hipotesis alternative (H1) diterima pada taraf signifikan 95% dan dk=(22+22)-2 karena thitung>ttabel (10.21>2.07). Berdasarkan temuan penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model picture and picture dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Pendalian Koto.

Abstract

The implementation of learning short story writing skills is still oriented towards completing tasks designed by the teacher. Also, it seems conventional, so developing students' short story writing skills takes time and effort. Through this research, the authors review the effect of the project-based learning model on learning outcomes for students with high and low achievement motivation; and the interaction between the project-based learning model and achievement motivation. This research belongs to the quantitative research that applies the experimental method, involving two sample classes: class X hospitality 2 as the experimental class and class X clothing 4 as the control class. The results of the data analysis provide conclusions. First, the project-based learning model influences student learning outcomes. Second, the project-based learning model influences students' learning outcomes with high achievement motivation. Third, project-based learning model influences the learning outcomes of students with low achievement motivation. The project-based learning learning model can be used as an effective alternative learning model in improving students' short story writing skills.

Abstract

This study aims to see the effect of the PQRST method in learning the skills of reading descriptive texts for class VII students of SMP Negeri 3 Kota Sungai Lilin. The type of research used in this research is quantitative research with a quasi-experimental method using a one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study were 105 class VII students of SMP Negeri 3 Kota Sungai Kunci for the academic year 2022/2023, with a sample size of 26 students who were determined using a purposive sampling technique. Based on the results of the posttest and hypothesis testing, it was found that the average value of skills in reading descriptive texts after using the PQRST method was higher than the average value of skills in reading descriptive texts before using the PQRST method. learning the skills of reading descriptive text after using the PQRST method is in the Very Good (BS) classification with an average value of 96.15. When compared with the learning value of reading skill description text for class VII students of SMP Negeri 3 Kota Sungai Lilin before using the PQRST method it is lower and is in the Less Enough (KC) classification with an average value of 15.38. Based on the t-test it was concluded that the hypothesis (H1) was accepted at a significant level of 95% and dk = (n-1) because tcount > ttable (20.26>1.70). Thus, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the use of the PQRST method on the skills of reading descriptive texts for class VII students of SMP Negeri 3 Kota Sungai Lilin.

Abstract

This research is a qualitative research. Qualitative research is research that contains information or data obtained in the form of descriptions or sequences of words. This study aims to describe the use of picture media for description text writing skills of Class VII students of SMP Negeri 38 Padang. The method used in this research is descriptive method by describing the object of research based on the reality. The form of research used is classroom action research. Data collection in this study is by interview. The use of picture media on writing text description skills of class VII students of Padang Public Middle School 38 is very effective to be used to improve students' writing skills. In addition, it can also increase the average value of students, attract students' attention and interest in learning, and can help teachers in the learning process. This is because the use of varied media will cause the teaching and learning process to run conducively and the presence of interesting media can increase students' enthusiasm for learning.
