Abstract

The purpose of this research was to compare the effectiveness of guided inquiry learning with SETS approach and lecturing on cognitive learning achievement and naturalist intelligence of fourth grade elementary school students. This research used quasy experimental design, pretest-postest control group type design with guided inquiry learning SETS approach as independent variable. The dependent variable is the cognitive learning achievement and naturalist intelligence. The results of this research found that the students' cognitive learning achievement increases after being teached by using guided inquiry learning SETS approach that compare to discussion and lecturing. There is significant difference of learning achievements that apply the guided inquiry learning with SETS approach compared to the discussion and lecturing. Guided inquiry learning is more effective in improving cognitive learning achievement of fourth grade students. There is a high naturalist intelligence on the application of guided inquiry learning with SETS approach on science subject. It is suggested to teachers to apply guided inquiry learning with SETS approach in order to improve cognitive learning and naturalist intelligence. The use of guided inquiry learning with SETS approach should be priopritized in learning.

Abstract

The development of science mobile learning is based on school condition which is lack of the use of technology. The lack of creativity and the uses of technology influencing study environment in class and has an effect in the student's result. So, it is needed to create some innovation in term of choose and use media. This research's goal is to enhance student's achievements. The type of research that used in this study is research and development (R & D). The stages in this research is used ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implementation, and Evaluation). The research was carried out at SDN 2 Bobos & SDN 1 Cangkoak. For the test use n-gain test. Based on n-gain calculation, it show that the small sample obtain 0.61 and for the large sample reach 0.57, both in moderate categories.  It can be conclude that science mobile learning can enhance student's study result achievements.

Abstract

This study aimed to find out the process of developing a Cirebon ethnoscience-based thematic-integrated book for primary 4 students with the theme “Selalu Berhemat Energi” along with its’ validity. This study applied development technique of ADDIE that consists of five stages: (1) analysis, (2) design, (3) develop, (4) implement, and (5) evaluate (Branch, 2010). The analysis stage was carried out by taking theoretical review and field data through questionnaires and interview conducted to teachers and principals from four schools in Cirebon which have implemented 2013 curriculum. It was found from the respondents that they have not integrated Cirebon’s culture into the learning process except Art. Thus, students have comprehension on their own culture. Prototypes of the product were then created as the basis of the product development. Through the validation process and suggestions from the validators, the product then developed into an ethnoscience-based of thematic-integrated book entitled “Selalu Berhemat Energi” with batik mega mendung taken as the main learning material of the developed book.

Abstract

The research is motivated by the lack of ICT-based learning media, mathematics learning for elementary school children is still inductive, and lacks of good character attitudes. The purpose of this study was to develop realistic mathematics education mobile learning for elementary school students. The research method used ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate). Based on the needs analysis, both students and teachers need a realistic learning media that can be represented through smartphone or tablet devices to support the learning. So, it is important to develop realistic mathematics education mobile learning. The product was validated by media experts, material experts, and practitioners. The results of expert validation get  percentage of  90% with  very good category for its performance, 92.5% with  very good category for the content competency. Furthermore, validation results from practitioners get 89% with very good categories. The realistic mathematics education mobile learning contains elements used in context, used of models, interactivity, students contribution, and interwoven. In addition, the media contained concrete images, videos, sounds, and questions that are arranged in online system. Based on these results it can be said that the realistic mathematics education mobile learning is valid for use.

Abstract

The background of the research is how to low ability to recognize mathematical concepts of early childhood. The low ability is due to the use of instructional media which is less enjoyable for children when playing and learning in class. Gender of boys and girls may have different orientations in playing and in recognizing mathematical concepts. The purpose of this study is to analyze the differences in the influence of the use of animated films and animation on the ability to recognize mathematical concepts, analyze the differences in the influence of gender on the ability to recognize mathematical concepts, and analyze the interaction between animated films and gender in their effects on the ability to recognize mathematical concepts early childhood. This research uses a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design using Factorial (2x2). A population of 151 children with a purposive sampling technique obtained a sample of 105 kindergarten B children in the Dahlia PAUD cluster in Batangan’s Kecamatan. The collecting of data in this study from the results of observations and tests and analyzed using two-way ANOVA. The results showed, there were differences in the influence of the use of animated films and animation, F = 17.546 in sig. 0.001, there is a difference in the influence of gender, F = 5.399 with sig. 0.022 and there is no interaction between animated films with gender differences in the ability to recognize mathematical concepts in early childhood, F = 0.130 with sig. 0.719. This research can be used as an alternative in choosing fun learning media to introduce mathematical concepts in early childhood.

Abstract

The using of E-Puzzle media-based multimedia will combine various types of media needed in the game. For example, with images, text, and other media, students will use it directly through the computer-integration, namely E-Puzzle application software based on Adobe Flash Professional CS6. This study aims to develop E-Puzzle mediabased multimedia to improve the visual-spatial abilities and religious character of early childhood. This study used R&D (research and development) with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) and the research design uses pre-experimental design. The subjects in this study were 12 students of group B Raudhatul Athfal Tawang Rejosari and Raudhatul Athfal Terpadu Al-Qolam. Data collection techniques was used observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The data analysis technique in this research is descriptive test and prerequisite test. The results showed that visual-spatial stimulation includes an increase in the ability to perceive image patterns and colors. Simultaneously, the religious character is about knowledge of moral values, moral feelings, and moral actions through prayer movement images in the form of puzzles as an integrated learning medium with Adobe Flash Professional CS6 applications. This development is effectively used to improve children's visual-spatial abilities and religious character aged 5-6 years. Based on the results of expert validation with a mean score of 69.33%, while the N-Gain score results of the experimental class of 77.00 are in the high category and N-Gain in the controllerclass is 44.06, which belongs to the moderate category. This research can be an innovation related to multimedia in early childhood education, especially for researchers, and can be a reference for future researchers.

Abstract

Speaking skills have a very important role in a child's life. In fact, many children do not have good listening skills so that children have difficulty when talking to other people. This study aims to analyze the multimedia role of the animated film Nusa and Rara in improving speaking and listening skills in children aged 5-6 years. The method in this study used experimental research with a nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study consisted of 200 children aged 5-6 years. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The sample in this study were 60 children. Data collection techniques using observation and aneckdotal records. The results showed that the multimedia animation of nusa and rara was effective for improving listening and speaking skills in children after the intervention. The result of the probability hypothesis test is .000 (sig value 0.00 <0.05). This shows that the multimedia animation of nusa and rara is effective in improving listening and speaking skills in children aged 5-6 years at PAUD Mukti Tama
