Abstract

This study aims to explore the direct marketing strategy through WhatsApp implemented by Kopi Luwak Cikole, an ethical civet coffee agrotourism site in Lembang, West Bandung Regency, West Java, from the staff's perspective. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through a single case study, primary data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews with operational staff managing the facility's digital marketing communications, supported by non-participant observation during a field visit on April 30, 2026. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana (2020). Findings indicate that WhatsApp serves as the primary marketing communications channel for five key activities: promotional broadcasts, reservation confirmations, pre-visit services, post-visit follow-up, and product inquiry responses. Reservation confirmations are the most effective function, while post-visit follow-up has not been implemented systematically. This study identified that WhatsApp utilization at this facility is still reactive and relies on individual staff initiatives, not reaching its full potential as a structured direct marketing tool. Recommendations include standardizing message templates, developing post-visit flows, and migrating to the WhatsApp Business API to support scalable marketing communications. Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the effects of performance transformation, competence, and commitment on employee productivity at PT. Indonesia Bulk Terminal (IBT). Methodology: A descriptive quantitative research design was employed, utilizing purposive sampling technique with 100 permanent employees as respondents. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using SmartPLS 4.0 software, including Outer Model evaluation (convergent validity, discriminant validity, AVE, Composite Reliability), R², and path coefficient estimation with bootstrapping. Results: The results indicate that performance transformation positively and significantly affects productivity (T = 5.161, p = 0.000), competence positively and significantly affects productivity (T = 3.274, p = 0.001), while commitment has a significant but negative effect on productivity (T = 2.315, p = 0.021). The three independent variables collectively explain 67.1% (R² = 0.671). Findings: This study highlights that performance and competency transformation play an important role in improving productivity, while commitment does not have a significant direct effect on productivity. Novelty: Reveals unexpected negative influence of employee commitment on productivity in Indonesian bulk terminals. Originality: first study testing performance, competence, and commitment transformations as productivity predictors at PT. Indonesia Bulk Terminal. Conclusions: Productivity increases through effective performance transformation and competency development, while high commitment alone is not enough without discipline and Standard Operating Procedure compliance. Type of Paper: Empirical research paper

Abstract

General Background The specialty coffee sector increasingly faces scrutiny regarding environmental impacts and ethical production standards. Specific Background Civet coffee production requires balancing economic profitability, ecological preservation, and animal welfare compliance. Knowledge Gap Comprehensive field frameworks integrating natural geographical advantages, traditional processing, and byproduct upcycling within civet coffee operations remain inadequately documented. Aims This study analyzes the implementation of green economy principles at Cikole Luwak Coffee as a sustainable production model. Results The operation successfully leverages Lembang highland geography for natural temperature regulation, natural enzymatic digestive fermentation, solar drying energy efficiency, eco-education tourism, and coffee waste upcycling into cosmetic products. Novelty This research establishes an empirical five-dimension green economy framework combining animal welfare compliance with circular bioeconomy practice in specialty coffee agritourism. Implications Practitioners can adopt these integrated ecological operations to mitigate international welfare criticisms while enhancing product value and tourism revenue.  Key Findings Highlights Natural highland geographic conditions and solar drying methods eliminate the need for energy-intensive processing technologies. Integrating animal welfare standards with eco-education tourism creates sustainable revenue streams beyond raw coffee sales. Upcycling coffee production residues into skin cosmetic products achieves zero-waste operational goals. Keywords: Green Economy, Civet Coffee, Production Sustainability, Agrotourism, Circular Economy
