Abstract

Parak is the most common agroforestry site, especially on dry land in the form of gardens or fields. The term parak is only used by people in West Sumatra, and is a release of the ecosystem between agricultural land and forests. Parak has many different species, with many trees, and a complex and layered vertical structure. The purpose of this study was to determine the structure and composition of vegetation in the Parak ecosystem in Nagari Lubuk Pandan, 2X11 Enam Lingkung District, Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatera. The method used is a field survey method by making observation plots measuring 10m x 10m for trees and sub-plots 5m x 5m for poles, 2m x 2m for undergrowth placed in the parak area in Nagari Lubuk Pandan District 2X11 Enam Lingkung, Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatera. The results of this study obtained the highest INP value, namely the type Durio zibethinus L. with an INP value of 32.57. The index value of hostility in the parak ecosystem in Nagari Lubuk Pandan is high and community stability is high with a diversity index of 3.50. The composition of plant species in the parak ecosystem consists of 61 plant species with 35 different families.

Abstract

The majority of farmers currently use chemical fertilizers and pesticides in farming. However, continuous use of these materials can cause negative impacts such as environmental pollution, health risks, nutrient cycle imbalances, and reduced crop yields. To overcome this problem, research has been conducted that focuses on the use of microorganisms found in the soil layer surrounding plant roots, called the rhizosphere. These microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi and protozoa form a group known as Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR). PGPR can increase plant growth through various mechanisms such as nitrogen fixation, phosphorus dissolution, production of cyanide acid compounds (HCN), and Indole Acetic Acid (IAA) compounds. This research aims to collect and analyze articles related to the role of PGPR in sustainable agriculture. The method used is a literature review by collecting sources from Google Scholar and other internet databases. The results of the articles collected were on topics related to PGPR, including mechanisms of nitrogen fixation and phosphorus solubilization, as well as their role in producing IAA and siderophores. Apart from that, the research also discusses the role of PGPR as a biocontrol agent that can control plant pathogens, and the antagonistic activity of PGPR against pathogens.

Abstract

Biofertilizer is a material that contains live microorganisms that are able to increase plant nutrition, one of which is Trichoderma. Trichoderma is able to have a positive influence on plants, plant growth and plant production results. Bran is a material that can be used as a growth medium for Trichoderma sp because it is able to increase nutrition in plants and is able to meet the needs needed for the growth and development of Trichoderma. The shelf life of bran is limited, therefore glycerol is added to the bran medium. This research is an experimental study using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 5 replications. The research was carried out by making a Trichoderma asperellum formulation using bran as the basic ingredient and adding glycerol at concentrations namely 0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100%. Data in the form of the number of spores at each concentration were analyzed using analysis of variance. The results of the research showed that for Trichoderma asperellum, giving different concentrations of glycerol in bran-based media did not affect the number of Trichoderma asperellum spores and shelf life because there was no real difference between the different concentrations given.

Abstract

Biofertilizer merupakan pupuk organik yang mengandung mikroorganisme yang keberadaannya bisa tunggal atau berupa gabungan beberapa jenis yang disebut dengan konsorsium. Biofertilizer dapat berasal dari kelompok PGPR dan PGPF. Salah satu PGPF yang telah dilaporkan sejauh ini adalah Trichoderma. Trichoderna dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan perkembangan tanaman seperti daya kecambah benih, tinggi bibit tanaman padi. Selama ini medium untuk pertumbuhan Trichoderma di Laboratorium adalah PDA. Di samping itu ada beberapa medium lainnya yang dapat digunakan dan salah satunya adalah Jagung. Jagung merupakan medium alternatif yang mengandung nutrisi dan mendukung pertumbuhan Trichoderma, meskipun demikian daya simpan pada medium jagung masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian parafin terhadap jumlah spora dan lama simpan Trichoderma asperellum pada medium cair berbahan dasar jagung. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen. Rancangan penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 6 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah penambahan konsentrasi parafin 0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% dan 100%. Data berupa jumlah spora masing-masing konsentrasi pada umur simpan 45 hari yang dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA pada taraf 5% dan uji lanjut dengan DNMRT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata jumlah spora berkisar sekitar 2,16 x106 /mL hingga 7,44x106 /mL. Rata-rata spora tertinggi terdapat pada konsentrasi 40%. Berdasarkan analisis data, pemberian konsentrasi parafin pada media berbahan dasar jagung mempengaruhi jumlah spora Trichoderma asperellum dan lama simpannya.

Abstract

The relatively high and continuous use of inorganic fertilizers in rice cultivation can cause negative impacts on the environment. Minister of Agriculture Regulation Number: 40/2007 recommends providing organic fertilizer combined with inorganic fertilizer with the aim of improving soil condition and fertility. This research aims to determine the effect of the composition of organic goat manure and inorganic fertilizer on the number of rice tillers. This research was structured using a Completely Randomized Design. The treatment given was a comparison of organic fertilizer to inorganic fertilizer consisting of 6 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments given consisted of A(100% NPK Fertilizer + 0% Goat Manure Fertilizer), B(80% NPK Fertilizer + 20% Goat Manure Fertilizer), C(60% NPK Fertilizer + 40% Goat Manure Fertilizer), D(40% NPK Fertilizer + 60% Goat Manure Fertilizer), E(20% NPK Fertilizer + 80% Goat Manure Fertilizer), F(0% NPK Fertilizer + 100% Goat Manure Fertilizer). Observational data was analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) using the SPSS application. The results showed that the use of inorganic NPK fertilizer combined with organic goat manure had no significant effect on the number of offspring. The composition of inorganic NPK fertilizer and organic goat manure gave the same response to the number of rice tillers.

Abstract

Continuous use of inorganic fertilizers on rice plants has a negative impact on soil productivity and the environment so that plant growth is disrupted. Therefore, it can be used to reduce the impact of using inorganic fertilizers by using organic fertilizers. This research aims to determine the effect of the composition of organic cow dung fertilizer and inorganic fertilizer on the growth of rice plants which was carried out from July to November 2023 at the Plant Physiology and Wire House Laboratory, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Padang State University. This research was structured using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 6 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment given consisted of A = 100% NPK Fertilizer + 0% Cow Manure, B = 80% NPK Fertilizer + 20% Cow Manure, C = 60% NPK Fertilizer + 40% Cow Manure, D = 40% NPK Fertilizer + 60% Cow Manure Fertilizer, E = 20% NPK Fertilizer + 80% Cow Manure Fertilizer, F = 0% NPK Fertilizer + 100% Cow Manure Fertilizer. The results showed that the influence of the composition of inorganic NPK fertilizer and organic cow dung fertilizer for rice plants had no significant effect on plant height at 15, 30, 45 and 60 HST.

Abstract

In the 2013 curriculum, students are demanded to be active in learning process. To actualize it, teacher should has adequate ability and skills by implementing appropriate learning model in teaching. Purpose of the research was to know effect of Active Learning in form of scientific approach with assistance of student worksheets based Problem Based Learning to wards students' Biology competence in Bacterial material. The research method used a quasi experimental research by using randomized control posted only design. The population was students in grade X MIPA of SMAN 1 Pasaman registered in academic year 2018/2019. Samples were taken by using Purposive Sampling technique. Instrument used was psychomotor competence observation sheet. Data analysis was conducted by using Mann Whitney U test. The finding showed that there is a significant difference between students' biology competence in experimental class and control class, in which students' biology competence in experimental class is higher than in control class. Average score of students' biology competence in experimental class is 3.34 (B+) and in control class is 3.17 (B). So, it can be concluded that Active Learning in form of scientific approach with assistance of student worksheets based Problem Based Learning can improve students Biology competence.

Abstract

Weeds are plants that humans try to manage because they inhibit the growth of cultivated plants or are harmful to human interests. This study aims to evaluate the effect of teki grass extract (Cyperus rotundus) on the growth of green beans (Vigna radiata) and red spinach (Amaranthus dubius). The research method used a completely randomized design (CRD) with two extract concentration treatments (30% and 50%) applied to both plants. The results showed that treatment with teki extract significantly affected plant growth, with a decrease in height and fresh weight at higher concentrations. The allelopathic effect of the teki extract inhibited the vegetative growth of mung beans and red spinach, indicating that this extract has potential as a bioherbicide agent.

Abstract

Padi (Oryza sativa) merupakan komoditas pangan utama di indonesia, di mana peningkatan jumlah anakan produktif berperan penting dalam hasil panen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ecoenzyme dalam formulasi Trichoderma asperellum berbahan dasar ketan hitam terhadap jumlah anakan padi varietas Bujang Marantau. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak lengkap (RAL) dengan lima konsentrasi ecoenzyme (0%,20%,40%,60%,80%) dan lima ulangan. Pengamatan jumlah anakan dilakukan pada minggu ke-3, ke-5, dan ke-7 setelah tanam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi ecoenzyme dengan konsentrasi >40% secara signifikan (p<0,05) menghambat pembentukan anakan Pada minggu ke-3 dan ke-5, namun tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan (p>0,05) pada minggu ke-7. Penurunan jumlah anakan pada konsentrasi tinggi di sebabkan oleh keberadaan senyawa organik alelopati dan gangguan keseimbangan hormon. Oleh karena itu, aplikasi ecoenzyme dengan konsentrasi <40% lebih baik untuk mendukung pertumbuhan anakan padi secara optimal.

Abstract

Peningkatan kadar klorofil dapat dipengaruhu oleh kemampuan Trichoderma asperellum dalam meningkatkan penyerapan nutrisi, khususnya nitrogen sebagai komponen penting dalam sintesis klorofil. Penelitian bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh frekuensi formula Trichoderma asperellum terhadap kadar klorofil. Penelitian dengan metode eksperimental dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), dengan penambahan ecoenzyme pada konsentrasi 0% dan 60% yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Hasil menunjukkan pada klorofil a nilai tertinggi 6.8260 mg/L dan terendah 5.7620 mg/L. Hal ini, Trichoderma asperellum tidak berpengaruh signifikan. Pada klorofil b tercatat nilai tertinggi 8.7280 mg/L dengan nilai paling rendah 6.6500 mg/L menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan. Sedangkan pada klorofil total mencatat nilai tertinggi 15.328 mg/L dan terendah 12.458 mg/L. menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada pengaruh signifikan diantara perlakuan.
