Abstract

The agricultural sector cannot be separated from the role of inorganic fertilizers to support plant growth, as is the case with rice cultivation. Farmers' dependence on using inorganic fertilizers has led to decreased soil fertility and damage to natural resources. One way to overcome this is to implement organic farming. Organic cultivation in this research uses the SRI (System of Rice Intensification) method, while inorganic cultivation follows conventional methods from local communities. The aim of the research was to determine the effect of giving Trichoderma asperellum on rice plant height in organic and inorganic cultivation. The research was carried out in September-December 2022 in Jorong Galo gandang, Nagari III Koto, Tanah Datar Regency, Biological Research Laboratory, and Plant Physiology Laboratory, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Padang State University. This type of research is experimental. The research was structured using a Randomized Block Design, with 4 treatments, namely; O (Organic) OT (Organic + Trichoderma asperellum), A (Inorganic), AT (Inorganic + Trichoderma asperellum) and 5 repetitions. Observational data was analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) using the SPSS application. If there are differences, continue with the DNMRT test (Duncan's New Multiple Range Test). The results showed that giving Trichoderma asperellum had no significant effect on rice plant height in organic and inorganic cultivation. Because the high rainfall at the research location caused the nutrients from each experimental plot to be washed away by the water.

Abstract

Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is a staple food for Indonesians and plays a vital role in the country's economy. To increase rice production, intensification methods, including the use of fertilizers, are crucial. However, overuse of chemical fertilizers can damage soil structure and reduce microbial diversity. Organic fertilizers and biofertilizers, such as Trichoderma asperellum, have emerged as sustainable alternatives to chemical fertilizers due to their ability to produce growth-promoting hormones. This study investigates the effect of adding ecoenzyme to black glutinous rice-based Trichoderma asperellum formulas on the root length of Bujang Marantau rice variety seedlings. Using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments and five replicates, root growth was observed under varying concentrations of ecoenzyme (0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, and 80%). Results show that a 20% ecoenzyme concentration enhanced root length compared to the control. Higher concentrations, however, exhibited diminishing effects due to potential nutrient imbalances. The findings underscore the potential of ecoenzyme-enhanced Trichoderma asperellum formulations for sustainable agriculture.

Abstract

Biofertilizer merupakan pupuk organik yang mengandung unsur hara dan mikroorganisme yang diaplikasikan untuk mendukung pertumbuhan dan perkembangan tanaman. Pupuk organik memiliki dua wujud zat: padat dan cair. Salah satu pupuk organik cair (POC) adalah Ribost. POC Ribost mampu meningkatkan hasil tanaman pangan hingga 30%. Akan tetapi, pernyataan tersebut belum dipublikasikan ke dalam jurnal atau karya tulis ilmiah manapun. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan penelitian mengenai pengaruh POC Ribost terhadap tanaman. Salah satu tanaman yang dapat digunakan dalam penelitian adalah bayam cabut (Amaranthus tricolor L.) karena memiliki pertumbuhan yang cepat dan waktu panen yang singkat sehingga dapat diamati pertumbuhannya dengan efisien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pupuk organik cair Ribost terhadap luas daun tanaman bayam cabut (Amaranthus tricolor L.) varietas Maestro. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 7 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan yang diberikan di antaranya POC Ribost 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, NPK Mutiara 16-16-16 2,7 g, dan tanpa pupuk. Data berupa luas daun tanaman setiap perlakuan, dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan nyata setiap perlakuan.

Abstract

Persaingan sumber daya antara jagung dan gulma Cyperus rotundus dapat menurunkan produktivitas tanaman, Strategi pengelolaan gulma yang efektif dengan menggunakan agen hayati, seperti Trichoderma sp. sebagai pengendali terhadap patogen tanaman yang mendukung pertumbuhan tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Aplikasi Trichoderma asperellum terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman Jagung (Zea mays) dan Cyperus rotundus. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan yang diberikan dengan mengaplikasikan Trichoderma asperellum dengan konsentrasi, yaitu 0%, 20%, 25%, dan 30%. Data yang diperoleh akan dianalisis menggunakan uji Anova dan uji (DNMRT) dengan taraf nyata 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata tinggi tanaman tertinggi pada Cyperus Rotundus sebesar 54,3c dan Zea mays sebesar 34,16a dengan konsentrasi 25%, rerata biomassa tertinggi pada Cyperus Rotundus sebesar 2,97 g dan Zea mays sebesar 2,3c dengan konsentrasi 20%. Rerata Jumlah Daun Cyperus Rotundus tertinggi sebesar 3.67 pada P1(20%),P2 (25%) dan P3 (30%) dan Zea mays tertinggi sebesar 3.7 pada P2 (25%) dan P3 (30%).

Abstract

Kuman patogen yang resisten terhadap antimikroba merupakan masalah global. Terjadinya patogen yang resisten mengakibatkan infeksi lebih sulit untuk diobati, dan berujung pada meningkatnya angka kematian. Untuk mengatasi masalah resistensi antimikroba, perlu dicari sumber-sumber senyawa aktif baru salah satunya menggunakan tumbuhan obat. Salah satu tumbuhan obat yang berpotensinya khususnya sebagai antikanker, antibakteri dan antifungi adalah Cemara sumatra (Taxus sumatrana) yang mengandung senyawa aktif taxol, flavonoid, fenolik dan lignan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengisolasi dan menguji aktivitas antimikroba cendawan daun Taxus sumatrana. Untuk memperoleh senyawa aktif maka dilakukan isolasi mikroba. Cendawan yang telah diisolasi diidentifikasi berdasarkan morfologinya. Isolat cendawan endofit difermentasi untuk mendapatkan produk metabolit sekunder dan diuji aktivitas antimikrobanya. Penelitian ini berhasil mengisolasi 9 jenis isolat cendawan endofit dari daun Taxus sumatrana. Pada bakteri S. aureus diperoleh diameter sebesar 14 mm oleh isolat TD3. Pada bakteri E. coli, aktivitas antimikroba yang paling kuat dihasilkan oleh isolat K1 sebesar 8.50 mm, selanjutnya aktivitas antimikroba yang paling tinggi terhadap C. albicans dihasilkan oleh isolat D6 sebesar 9.93 mm. Aktivitas antimikroba yang paling baik dihasilkan oleh isolat TD3 terhadap S. aureus.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the learning competence of class VII students at SMPN 21 Padang for the 2017/2018 academic year through the application of the Discovery Learning learning model on the material of the organization of life and the interaction of living things with the environment. This research is Class Action Research (PTK) which was carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementing actions, observing and reflecting. The research subjects were class VII3 students at SMPN 21 Padang in the 2017/2018 academic year. Data sources are teachers and learners. Data collection techniques through tests and observation sheets. The collected data was then analyzed descriptively qualitatively. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the application of the Discovery Learning model can improve students' learning competence. The results of the research obtained that the percentage of pre-cycle attitude completeness competency was 79.3%, cycle I was 81.26%, and cycle II was 88.13%. The skills competency of pre-cycle students was 65.20%, cycle I was 72.33%, and cycle II was 74.00%. The knowledge competency of pre-cycle students was 66.43%, cycle I was 75.89%, and cycle II was 83.39%.

Abstract

The research aimed to investigate and elucidate the pressing need for the development of SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, Society)-based English practice guidance in SMAN 4 Padang. Employing a qualitative approach, the descriptive research revealed deficiencies in the current practice guidance, including its lack of systematic arrangement, incomplete components, insufficient validity, impracticality, and ineffectiveness. Additionally, the absence of a learning approach and model to enhance students' motivation and skills, coupled with the non-existence of SETS-based English practice guidance and the inadequate integration of learning across Science, Environment, Technology, and Society components, underscored the necessity for comprehensive improvements in the educational framework.

Abstract

The result of observation conducted in grade VIII of SMPN 1 Rao Selatan shows that students are less active in participating in learning process in the classroom. It might be caused by teachers' technique in conveying learning materials is through lecturing. As a result, students' learning competences in cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects are still low. An effort to overcome this problem is by using Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with Student Worksheets in learning process. The purpose of the research was to know the effect of PBL model with worksheet towards students' learning competences. It was a quasi experimental research. The population of this research was all students in grade   VIII of SMPN 1 Rao Selatan in academic year 2015/2016, whereas the sample of this reseach was students in class VIII4 as experimental class and students in class VIII6 as control class. The sample was taken by using purposive sampling technique. The instruments used in this research were multiple-choice test and affective and psychomotor observation sheets. Next, in this research, the data analysis used T-test to analyze cognitive competence and Mann Whitney U test to analyze affective and psychomotor competences. The result of this reseach shows that students' competences in learning English in experimental class are better than students' competences in control class.
