Abstract

Abstrack Type a descriptive study which describe the students' perceptions of learning the art of traditional music at SMP 27 Padang. The samples used were 44 students. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded: 1) Understanding Student Learning Against Traditional Music in SMP 27 Padang categorized Good that where 38 people (87.11%) respondents stated always (SL) and Frequently (SR), 2) students' reactions to learning traditional music at SMP 27 Good Enough categorized Padang where 35 people (77.96%) respondents stated always (SL) and Frequently (SR), 3) Acceptance of students towards learning the art of traditional music at SMP 27 Padang, where 32 are categorized Good Enough people (73.24%) respondents stated always (SL) and Frequently (SR). Abstract

Abstract This article aims to find out the results of increased student learning Class VII. 6 through direct instruction model on the subjects of art and culture (music) in SMP Negeri 13 Padang. The type of research was classroom action research. Classroom action research procedure consisted of four stages, they were planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Techniques of data collection were done by literature study, observation, test and documentation. The results showed that the application of direct learning model in the learning of art and culture (music) was very effective in improving student learning outcomes. From the learning process of student activity on cycle 1, it was found that the average of overall score of 1, 2 and 3 was 52%. While in cycle 2, the overall average score of meetings 1, 2 and 3 was 81%, the average student learning outcomes increased significantly from cycle 1 to cycle 2 with very good criteria. Judging from the data of the students' learning outcomes both written test and practice ability in the average pre cycle value 68 that increased in cycle 1 with the average value of 80 and cycle 2 with an average value of 85.3. Seen in the results of students' ability to practice improvement in each cycle that was in pre cycle had only has average score  67, cycle 1 with the average value of 80.3 and cycle 2 with an average value of 85. Keywords:                 Results of the Study, Direct Instruction Model, Cultural Art (Music),

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the urgency of applying the long tone method in producing sound colour for trombone major students. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Researchers found 7 categorizations, namely: the application of the long tone method is very influential for the trombonist, the benefits of the long tone method for the trombonist, the improvement of the ability to play the Trombone for the trombonist by applying the long tone method, the effect of the application of the long tone method on the ambasir, the facilities and infrastructure needed in the application of the long tone method, the allocation of time needed during practice to apply the long tone method well, and the obstacles to implementing long tone exercises. The application of the long tone method is an important part of the formation of a quality sound colour and must be carried out consistently, regularly, and with a commitment by the trombone students of Universitas Negeri Padang.

Abstract

Abstract This research aims to describe the implementation of learning ensamble music at 7th grade in MTs Lubuk Kilangan, Padang. The type of research was qualitative research with the descriptive analysis approach which was carried out in MTs Lubuk Kilangan. The object of the research was the implementation of learning ensamble music. The research instrument was the researcher itself and assisted by the supporting instruments such as stationery and photo cameras. The technique of data collection was done by observation, interview, and documentation. The results of this study showed that in the process of planning of learning ensamble music has not been run in accordance with the lesson plan. Since there are several indicators of learning that are not reached, in the implementation of learning, the students and teachers became obstructed due to the lack of facilities and infrastructure of learning ensamble music, such as musical instruments, whiteboards, books and modules/students’ worksheet as well as classroom that are not adequate yet. It caused the result of students’ assessment was not perfect and it could be seen from the results of students who did not achieve the minimum passing standards. From the result of the study, it was only half the students who passed it. Then, in the implementation of this learning activity, students have not been able to play a musical instrument with the right technique. Keywords: Ensamble music, Learning implementation.

Abstract

Abstract   This research was aimed at revealing the use of modeling method to improve the student’ skill in playing recorder.The subject of the research was the students in class VIII6of SMP Negeri 2 Kota Pariaman registered in academic year 2012-2013. This was a classroom action research.The result of the research indicated that there was an improvement on the student’ learning achievement after the method applied. In pre-cycle, the average score of the students was 68,14286 and it improved into 73,85714 in the first cycle. In the second cycle it became 82. Thus, it can be concluded that the modeling method could be used to help the students in learning.   Keyword: teacher, student,  recorder music,modeling method.

Abstract

Abstract This a article was intended to reveal the phenomena of Islamidar in the traditional music art in West Sumatera including him ideas, creativity and him contribution toward the development of Minagkabau traditional music in West Sumatera. This was a qualitative research which used Biography method. The data was gotten through interview, direct observation and documentation. The instruments of the research were the researcher herself, note-book, recorder and audio visual media. The data gathered then was analyzed by using ethnography data analysis technique. The research findings revealed that Islamidar had a talent in music since he was a child. He learned music in the age of 5, and when he was 16, he had become a great Talempong player. He had arranged a practical scale of Talempong to accompany a song or a dance. With him creativity, Islamidar had created more popular technique of playing Talempong, music for accompanying dance and arrangement of Talempong beats. Furthermore, Islamidar had a contribution in popularizing Talempong musical instruments so that there was an increasing interest among the society and artists either in or out of country. Abstract

Abstract   The aim of this research is describe the study of ensambel music recorder in using training method in SMP Negeri 05 kota Pangkalpinang. This research can be categorized as qualitative research. The way of collection data of this research used observation step through learning process. The way analysis of the data in this research using qualitative research and describing the data. The result from all of the steps in this study can be briefed that learning ensambel music recorder using practise method in SMP Negeri 05 kota Pangkalpinang in the class VIII b is good, it means that practise method can increase the result of study in playing music ensambel music recorder in class VIII b in SMP Negeri 05 kota Pangkalpinang. Abstract

Abstract The aim of this research was to describe the use of audio-visual media to improve the students’ independence in learning arts  and cultures subject. This was a qualitative research which used descriptive method. The sources of the data were the teacher and the students. The result of the research showed that the use of audio-visual media made learning process become more effective and made the students felt happy, be serious and focused on the material being explained. These had raised the students’ independence in learning so that they were willing to perform dancing, playing musical instruments and performing a drama in front of the class. Abstract

This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 3 Duo Koto Pasaman. The research objective was to describe students' interest in learning cultural arts (music) in class VII-3 at the school. This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The research object was 36 students of class VII-3, with the research instrument being the researcher himself as the main researcher with additional instruments such as observation notes, interview notes and literature study. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation.While data analysis is by systematically classifying the data to draw conclusions. The factors that influence students' interest in learning are divided into two, namely internal and external factors. Internal factors in the form of attention, talent, interest and motivation, how to learn. And external factors in the form of family, school, and others. From the results of the research that the researchers observed covering the factors that influence student interest in learning, the results showed that the lack of student interest in learning the art of music at SMP Negeri 3 Duo Koto Pasaman was caused by a lack of strategies and methods used by teachers in the learning process. Teachers are more likely to provide material in the form of theory using the lecture method, so that students feel bored and not enthusiastic in participating in learning the art of music. Meanwhile, learning the art of music requires balanced learning in the form of theory and practice, to increase student interest in learning the art of music.

Abstract

Abstract   This article aims to explain the Experience Music in Choral Activities at SMP Negeri 1 Payakumbuh. Qualitative research with descriptive method that provides a complete picture and set forth in writing in the event of Experience Music Choir at SMP Negeri 1 Payakumbuh. Research conducted the 1st half of the school year 2014/2015. The data obtained were collected through observation, interviews, documentation and study the literature. Data analysis included the presentation of data and inference data. Research explains that the Music Experience Choir Activity in SMP Negeri 1 Payakumbuh showed that activity in class VIII9 choir has advantages and disadvantages, so only a little musical experience gained by the students. The results of extracurricular activities chorus make students more aware of and understand the vocal technique, the students gained experience more in terms of both theory and practice. Interrelationship between choral activities in class VIII9 with extracurricular activities choir, where students who participate in extracurricular activities choir has more musical experience than those who did not follow extracurricular activities.
