Abstract

This study investigates the impact of social support and learning motivation on students' desire to pursue higher education at SMA Negeri 4 in South Tangerang City. It employs a quantitative design through survey methods, collecting data via a Google Form questionnaire from 84 participants, with instruments validated and tested for reliability using SPSS version 27. Analysis involved simple and multiple linear regression, supplemented by t-tests for individual effects and F-tests for combined influences. Social support (X1) significantly affects interest in further education (Y), showing a regression coefficient of 1.521 (p = 0.000) and R² of 0.649. Learning motivation (X2) likewise exerts a strong positive influence on interest in higher education (Y), with a coefficient of 1.307 (p = 0.000) and R² of 0.691. Together, these factors significantly predict students' interest (F = 106.418, p = 0.000), explaining 72.4% of the variance (multiple R² = 0.724), while 27.6% stems from unexamined variables. These results highlight the critical role of social support and robust learning motivation in boosting students' aspirations for advanced studies. Schools, families, and policymakers can leverage these insights to craft targeted initiatives for enhancing postsecondary enrollment. Despite using digital tool like PowerPoint, the intergration within the pedagogical context was suboptimal. The students desire to obtain an interactive and relevant learning experiences. The developed module integrates Content Knowledge, Pedagogical Knowledge, and Technological Knowledge, using media such as Padlet and Wordwall. Expert validation indicated that the module is highly suitable for use, with an average score of 84%. It is anticipated that this module will improve the quality of Social Studies learning, equip students with relevant skills, and integrate Islamic values. With this approach, the module is expected to enhance student understanding and engagement, as well as adaptability to future curriculum developments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of Illegal Gold Mining (PETI) activities on the degradation of river water quality and aquatic environmental ecosystems. Illegal mining activities carried out without official permits and proper waste management are considered one of the main causes of river pollution, especially through increasing Total Suspended Solid (TSS) concentrations, water turbidity, and changes in the physical, chemical, and biological characteristics of water bodies. This study used a normative juridical method with a library research approach. Data were obtained from primary legal materials in the form of laws and regulations related to environmental protection, as well as secondary legal materials derived from books, scientific journals, and relevant previous studies. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and qualitatively by examining the impact of illegal gold mining activities on river water quality based on existing literature. The results showed that illegal gold mining activities cause increased TSS levels, higher water turbidity, and changes in water color into yellowish-brown due to untreated mining waste disposal into rivers. In addition, the use of hazardous chemicals such as mercury potentially pollutes the environment and disrupts aquatic ecosystems, including fish and phytoplankton. Therefore, stricter supervision, law enforcement, and sustainable environmental management are necessary to prevent further environmental degradation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of character-based curriculum development on the disciplinary attitudes of elementary school students. The background of this research is based on the importance of character education in shaping students' disciplined behavior from an early age. Character-based curriculum development is expected to instill positive values such as responsibility, discipline, honesty, and compliance with school regulations. This study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The research population consisted of elementary school students, while the sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and documentation. The data were analyzed using simple regression analysis to determine the effect of character-based curriculum development on students' disciplinary attitudes. The results indicate that character-based curriculum development has a positive and significant effect on the disciplinary attitudes of elementary school students. The better the implementation of a character-based curriculum, the higher the level of student discipline in participating in learning activities and complying with school rules. This study is expected to serve as a reference for schools and educators in developing curricula that are not only academically oriented but also focused on the character development of students.
