Abstract

To support the implementation of the President’s instructions to boost investment in various regions in Indonesia, the West Lombok Regency Government, in the West Nusa Tenggara Province (NTB), through the Ministry of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN). Is striving to create an investmentfriendly climate through the Spatial Detail Plan (RDTR). Various elements that support the readiness of the RDTR program need to be prepared thoroughly, including the provision of standardized halal meat products, the application of science and technology, and mapping the potential at the Slaughterhouse (RPH) needs improvement. Additionally, important factors to consider include halal aspects and animal welfare to meet market needs where the resulting slaughtered livestockes meets the ASUH criteria (Safe, Healthy, Intact, and Halal). Unfortunately, only 10 butchers in the entire NTB have Veterinary Control Numbers (NKV) and are certified Halal Slaughterers (Juleha) by the National Certification Profession Agency (BNSP). The readiness of certified Juleha butchers needs to be improved to achieve the continuity of ASUH processed meat products. From this community service activity, there are a total of 20 butchers who have passed the test and obtained Juleha certification. The butcher program for butchers who have Juleha certification is a subsequent step that has been agreed upon by the community service team and the NTB Government.

Abstract

Abstract Teacher competency development in Indonesia is a gradual and progressive task that is intended to increase teachers’ professionalism. In accordance with Permenpan RB Number 16 of 2009 concerning Teacher Functional Positions and Credit Points, Junior Superintendent IIIa who wishes to advance to First Class Junior Superintendent IIIb must obtain 3 points for self-development and teachers who wish to advance from First Class Junior Superintendent IIIb to Superintendent IIIc must obtain 4 points for professional development from scientific publications or innovative works. The writing of scholarly articles by teachers is fostered by Law Number 18 of 2007, which has made it a requirement, one of the parameters used to evaluate in-service teacher certification portfolio, and one of the forms of activity or professional development work that is highly respected. Regrettably, teachers encounter some obstacles in producing and publishing scholarly articles so errors are regularly made while submitting manuscripts to the predatory journal.

Abstract

Several studies have been conducted to determine the implementation of the Independent Curriculum. However, the existing studies have not identified English teachers self-efficacy in implementing the curriculum. Therefore, the present research aims to investigate the English teachers self-efficacy in applying the Independent Curriculum in secondary schools in Indonesia. This study was a mixed method study using a questionnaire and focus group discussions with teachers in teacher support groups. The data was collected from 171 secondary school English teachers. The results show that most English teachers understand the freedom offered by the government to schools and teachers in the new curriculum. However, they have low self-efficacy in implementing the curriculum in the teaching-learning process. They do not have adequate knowledge of how to translate the learning objectives specified by the government into their own syllabi. They do not have sufficient understanding or ability to conduct a needs analysis and syllabus design as a prerequisite for implementing the curriculum. Our research suggests that the teachers need further support from the government and teacher trainers through in-person hands-on training and workshops on needs analysis, syllabus design, and materials selection and development to effectively implement the Independent Curriculum.
