Abstract

The rapid science in the modern era, provides significant changes for humans, both in the fields of economics, politics, culture, environment, society, education, and even religion. The 19th century is a century of science that is growing rapidly, this can be seen from the emergence of various scientists who provide concepts, theories based on philosophy with basic ontology, epistemology, and axiology as a contribution to the development of science. One of them, the scientist known as the father of sociology, was Auguste Comte a scientist from France. Comte is famous for its philosophy of postivism because of the many references by scientists in the contemporary era. This is based on the calculation of the success of designing the social structure of modern humans with three stages of law, but one side of the theory he produced has eliminated the fundamental value in humans, namely eliminating the metaphysical basis. In a three-stage law, more concerned with physical values than metaphysical values, this will result in a society that abandons religion and even eliminates the existence of God. The thoughts produced by Comte are thoughts originating from the west, where the basic West is relativism so if viewed from an Islamic point of view this theory will produce atheists and eliminate the sanctity of religion. In Islam religion and society are inseparable because religion is a guideline that is used as a basis in people's lives based on the values of the Qur'an and Sunnah. Therefore in this paper we will study more deeply the criticisms of Aguste Comte's thinking, using qualitative research types, with descriptive analysis methods and theological philosophical approaches.

Abstract

As the term for the present age, the Millennial age is very full of various diseases that attack the biological side of humans and are rife in the community, including psychic and mental illnesses. That problem is usually characterized by uncontrolled morals as well as an uneasy soul. In this case, mental health becomes the main goal in healing the disease and makes many psychologists examine specifically mental health. In this regard, Zakiah Daradjat, the first Muslim psychologist in Indonesia, offers the best medicine for healing by presenting religion as a guide to human life. Using descriptive-analytical methods, the most important point found in this paper is that religion in daily life is very related and influential in fostering mental health because it has implications for controlling morals and calming one's soul.

Abstract

This paper is based on deviation of mindset, attitudes, and human behavior that happened this nowadays. The deviation can be captured through the attitudes and behavior that is no longer based on human nature, but based on the lust. As a result, there is a moral degradation that led to the multi- dimensional crisis. Actually, the previous Islamic scholars, such as Fakhruddîn ar-Râzî had stressed the importance of establishing the mindset, attitude, and behavior on the basis of tawhid or human nature. In Islam, tawhid has a central position. It is the source of mindset, attitudes, and human behavior. Therefore, if tawhid is true, the behavior should be true, and also on the contrary. In Islam, between tawhid and mindsets, attitudes and behavior, have a close relationship, even they may not be separated. The attitudes of a believer, according to ar- Râzî, are being pious, keeping away from dirty deeds, do not hurt others, and do not do things that are prohibited. Meanwhile, the attitudes of musyrik are stubborn, do not believe and reject the truth. Likewise with the deeds. The kindness which is performed by people with correct tawhid should be different with the kindness done by others. The people who has correct tawhid do good thing simply because the worship of God, while those who has not correct tawhid do something based on humanitarian grounds. This matter, in the perspective of tawhid, can be categorized as riya’ and therefore, according to ar-Râzî, can be called by disobedience.

Abstract

Kitâb al-Luma' fî al-Taṣawwuf of al-Sarrâj (d. 378H./988CE.) is the earliest work in Sufism survived and arrived at us. It did not only record the history of Sufism up to that time but also promoted and placed its position among other disciplines in the history of intellectual and spiritual traditions of Islam. With this work, al-Sarrâj formulated Sufi epistemology in its earliest development. This paper attempts to explore the Sufi epistemology of al-Sarrâj, which will cover the discussion about his classification and hierarchy of knowledge, his analysis of the position of Sufism among other knowledge, and then his elaboration of the methodology of Sufism. Before ending the discussion, the paper will read the works of Indonesian Sufis using Sufi epistemology as a perspective. This study finds that al-Sarrâj was successfully constructed Sufi epistemology in its initial emergence. He placed Sufism as a discipline of knowledge and posed it at the highest level in the structural hierarchy of knowledge. Reading the works of Indonesian Sufis from Sufi epistemology, it appears that in the early days of their birth, these works were colored by the epistemology of philosophical Sufism. It was only later that the epistemology of Sunni Sufism came into existence, and this became more evident in the following periods in the development of Sufism in this country.

Abstract

AbstractThis study discusses faith in Islamic psychotherapy. This study departs from the fact of moral degradation that occurs in many parts of the world caused by psyche illness. Moral degradation causes the erosion of faith, especially for Muslims. For this reason, an effort is needed as faith can be maintained and the soul remains healthy. The cause of treating mental illness is more difficult than treating physical pain. In this context, a well-known Turkish scholar, Badiuzzaman Said Nursi, has an interesting concept to address the problem of moral degradation. Nursi said the best solution to overcome mental illness is to improve one's faith as if the faith is correct then the behaviour will be right, and vice versa. Islam is not only limited to intellectual contemplation, but also as a direct answer from the various discussions that he experienced personally as well as a response to the problem being discussed by the Turkish community compilation. This research is a qualitative study (literature) of Nursi's work, Risale-i Nur. His ideas about psychotherapy are distributed in the book. His views on Islamic psychotherapy produce a deep understanding of the concept of faith and its influence in life. The authors hope this study can make scientific contributions and be able to provide solutions to the problems that are currently being approved. Keywords: Badiuzzaman Said Nursi, Risale-i Nur, Psychotherapy, Faith, Islam. Abstract

Mostly, a research about nation ideology is related to a religion. Some people wish the religion becomes foundation for their nation, but others expect the opposite. The first type is optimistic that the religion will be able to help the nation to create a life with justice, prosperity, honesty, respect, unity in diversity, morality, and other sacred values. Therefore, there is no bargaining for integrity between religion and politics. They think religion and politics must be integrated with no exception, including the religion and the politics in Indonesia. The founders of Indonesia had said that the nation has to pay most attention to Moslem people’s privileges as the majority of Indonesian people. Meanwhile, according to the second type, Islam doesn’t have to play its role formally for the nation. It is enough for the religion to affect people’s mindset and their action. By using critical-analysis method, this paper tries to observe how the real process of political thought history including its ideological construction and its theory works together in one side, and how Islamic political thought develops and changes step by step to be profane and secular in another side. Finally, it will be revealed that a nation with a religion as its foundation to manage its government guarantees security, justice, prosperity, welfare, and happiness. It is more promising than a nation which marginalizes religion in managing its national affairs. It is proven by the Islamic history how the Prophet Muhammad had managed Islamic government very well and successfully.

Abstract

In this modern era, some people are more often faced with the high social, economic, political, legal problems. As a result, difficult, anxious, and depression continue to overshadow, even inevitable sekes again. Various ways taken to reduce the burden, to healt of life. There are sports, yoga, going to clinic, alternative medicine, and others including counseling to a psychologist. Psychologists receive an order surge over this problem. But as its limitations, the problem never finished, even more so. This study is present to find out the failure of psychologists to solve problems and to find alternative solutions as models. The construction begins from a critical analytical to the human concept that psychologists believe. Then proceed by analyzing the pattern of overcoming the problem. On the basis of in-depth study, found that the psychologist's inability is not due to his method, but rather his concept of an incomplete human being. According to him humans have two dimensions jismiyah and nafsiyah, without belief aspects of ruhiyah as its essence. This concepts have implications for counseling that do not touch the essence of the real problem. The psychologist's point of view about human beings, and the pattern of unraveling such problems are different from those of the Sufis. To heal the mental healt, most of Sufis such as Robi'ah al-Adawiyah, Abi Yazid al-Bistami, al-Hallaj and al-Qushyairi prefer the spiritual approach as the therapist. With a spiritual approach, the core content untouched by psychologists has become the right momentum momentum. They can not only finish their souls, but more of that the benefits, even the tranquility and happiness of life.

Abstract

The phenomenon of Islamophobia has always been a contemporary issue, especially in a world that is supposed to be global and full of diversity. In fact, in some Muslim-majority countries, the phenomenon is actually spread. Further study found that among the reasons was a misunderstanding in exploring and understanding Islam as a religion. Especially on the meaning of Islam as a universal religion for humans. Methodologically, this literature research model uses a historical literacy approach in the form of a Western phobia of Islam (especially religion) in the Middle Ages (anti-semitic), primary sources of Islamic teachings, and Islamic religious philosophy specifically excavated from Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas. Al-Attas’ analysis is used based on his capacity to understand ideas about metaphysics and Western civilization and Islam itself. The theoretical study is focusing on al-Attas' conception of 'corruption of the knowledge' that occurs as a result of 'loss of adab'. This is a global challenge for contemporary Muslims, the 'pursuit of knowledge' ; that is, the spread of 'erroneous science' that is like true, but contains falsehood and brings damage to the correct understanding of Islam. This study found that 'the corruption of the Knowledge' about Islam often results in Islamophobia; which begun with misunderstanding about the very essential things in Islam. Muslims join in phobias towards their religion because of the loss of adab. Most of the misconceptions result from 1) studying Islam without referring to scientific authority 2) framing social media about Islam 3) Secularization which reduces Islam is only limited to ancient Arabic culture.
Aliran Kepercayaan dan Kebatinan: Membaca Tradisi dan Budaya Sinkretis Masyarakat Jawa Jarman Arroisi
