Abstract

Abstract

Macroeconomic stability is a vital foundation for sustained economic growth; however, the mechanisms by which economic education influences aggregate stability have not been fully mapped. This study aims to examine the influence of economic education on macroeconomic stability, with financial literacy as a mediating variable and digital financial inclusion as a moderating variable. Employing a quantitative explanatory approach, data were collected from 400 respondents of productive age in Indonesia through structured online surveys (September-November 2025). Data analysis utilised Partial Least Squares - Structural Equation Modelling with SmartPLS 4.0. Results demonstrate that economic education positively and significantly influences macroeconomic stability (β=0.215, p=0.001). Financial literacy was partially confirmed to mediate this relationship (β=0.340, p<0.001), functioning as a crucial transmission mechanism through risk management, savings, and policy channels. Furthermore, digital financial inclusion was found to moderate positively (β=0.185, p=0.004), strengthening the impact of financial literacy on economic stability; higher digital access accelerates the effectiveness of prudent financial decision-making. These findings extend Human Capital Theory by demonstrating that the impact of economic education transcends individual productivity to encompass the resilience of the national economic system. Practically, the research recommends integrating financial life-skills curricula and digital inclusion policies accompanied by educational verification to mitigate systemic risks, particularly in emerging markets such as Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to identify obstacles and opportunities in the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Mojokerto Regency, Indonesia from a macroeconomic perspective. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, this study analyzes various literature and secondary data from national and international sources. The research findings show that MSMEs in Mojokerto Regency face several major obstacles, including limited access to financing, lack of digital literacy, inadequate infrastructure, and challenges in improving the quality of human resources. On the other hand, there are significant opportunities for MSME development through the use of digital technology, government policy support, and export market development. From a macroeconomic perspective, the success of MSME development in Mojokerto will not only have an impact on improving the welfare of local communities but can also contribute to regional and national economic growth. Recommendations from this study include increasing access to financing, accelerating the development of digital infrastructure, and strengthening the capacity of MSME actors through entrepreneurship training and technological literacy. By overcoming these obstacles and utilizing existing opportunities, MSMEs in Mojokerto Regency have the potential to become a driving force for a stronger and more sustainable economy.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to changes in consumption habits and irrational consumption, which also exhibit a strong tendency towards family economic education (FEE) in shaping student economic behavior and economic irrationality (IR). The novelty of this study lies in the exploration of the relationship between FEE and students’ economic behavior mediated by basic economic (BE) understanding, which is still under-explored in the context of economic education in Indonesia. This study uses a quantitative approach with structural equation modeling (SEM). A total of 385 students of economics or economic education study programs are spread across 38 provinces in Indonesia. The finding of the research indicate that FEE has a significant but relatively weak positive effect on students’ BE understanding. In addition, FEE directly increases students’ irrationality, as well as BE understanding, which also turns out to contribute positively to such irrational behavior. This finding implicitly shows that the delivery of intensive FEE information does not always have a positive impact but can actually strengthen IR in students. Thus, this study emphasizes the need for a more careful and selective approach in FEE to reduce students’ irrational behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development process, feasibility, student responses, and effectiveness of the Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship (KIK) e-module based on the SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, Society) approach in improving critical thinking skills of eleventh-grade vocational high school (SMK) students in Surabaya. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) by adopting the 4-D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) combined with True Experimental Design (Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design). The research subjects involved 232 students in five SMKs in Surabaya. Data were analyzed quantitatively through normality tests, paired sample t-tests, independent sample t-tests, and Cohen's d effect size calculations. The results of expert validation showed that the e-module was very feasible to use with a percentage of 97% from material experts, 95% from language experts, and 74% from graphic experts. Student responses confirmed high practicality with a score of 94%. An independent sample t-test showed a significant difference in critical thinking posttest scores between the experimental and control groups (p < 0.05). The average N-Gain score in the experimental class reached the "High" category (0.79–0.82), while the control class remained in the "Medium" category (0.52–0.71). Cohen's d analysis yielded a value of 1.42, indicating a strong effect size. The theoretical contribution and novelty of this study lies in the integration of the Science, Environment, Technology, and Society (SETS) approach into an interactive entrepreneurship e-module for vocational education, combined with experimental testing in various schools. This study demonstrates that SETS-based digital teaching materials can serve as an effective pedagogical innovation to support active, contextual, and critical learning in vocational entrepreneurship education.
