Abstract

 Background: Household food insecurity is a underlaying causes on undernutrition problems in children under five years. Household food security especially from food acces dimention is reflected from many indicators that are complex and easier to understand in a composite index. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to develop a index of household food security and its relationship to nutrient intake level and nutritional status in children under five years. Method: This cross-sectional study was conducted in four villages in West Bangka Regency in December 2018 until April 2019. The study involved 219 subjects consisting of mothers and children aged 12-59 months. Data were analyzed using Rank Spearman relationship test. Results: The validation results showed that the index score has a negatively correlation (p<0.01) with the proportion of food expenditure and it has a significant correlation with dietary diversity (HDDS Score). In addition, the index score was a significant correlation (p<0.01) with the level of adequacy of energy, protein, fat, calcium, iron, zinc and dietary diversity in children. The index score was a significant associated (p<0.01) with the nutritional status of children based on height for age, weight gor age, and height for wight. Conclusions: The index was developed from this study can be an alternative to evaluate the status of household food security level and stronger marker of food consumption and nutritional status of under five children.ABSTRAKLatar Belakang: Kondisi rawan pangan pada rumah tangga merupakan salah satu penyebab masalah kekurangan gizi pada anak berusia di bawah lima tahun. Ketahanan pangan rumah tangga tercermin dari banyak indikator yang kompleks dan lebih mudah dipahami dalam indeks komposit.Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan indeks ketahanan pangan rumah tangga serta hubungannya dengan tingkat asupan gizi dan status gizi pada anak balita.Metode: Penelitian cross-sectional ini dilakukan di empat desa di Kabupaten Bangka Barat. Penelitian ini melibatkan 219 subjek yang terdiri dari anak berusia 12-59 bulan dan ibu dari anak. Data dianalis menggunakan uji beda Kruskal Wallis dan uji hubungan Rank Spearman.Hasil: Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa skor indeks memiliki perbedaan yang nyata (p<0,05) berdasarkan tingkat kerentanan pangan wilayah dan terdapat hubungan negatif yang kuat (p<0,05) dengan proporsi pengeluaran pangan. Selain itu, skor indeks memiliki keterkaitan yang kuat (p<0,05) dengan tingkat kecukupan energi, protein, lemak, kalsium, besi, seng serta keragaman diet pada balita. Skor indeks juga memiliki hubungan yang nyata (p<0,05) dengan nilai z-score status gizi balita berdasarkan indeks antropometri tinggi badan menurut usia, berat badan menurut umur, dan tinggi badan menurut berat badan.Kesimpulan: Indeks yang dikembangkan dari penelitian ini dapat menjadi alternatif dalam menilai status ketahanan pangan rumah tangga serta prediktor yang kuat dalam melihat gambaran konsumsi pangan dan status gizi balita.

Abstract

Background: Methods of evaluation of the regional government’s commitment in the development of food and nutrition security are not yet available. The index that measures the government’s commitment to national food and nutrition security is HANCI. Therefore, this study aimed to develop a method of evaluating the commitment of the regional government in the development of food and nutrition security.Objectives: This study aimed to develop a method of evaluating the commitment of regional government in the development of food and nutrition security.  Methods: The design of this study was a cross-sectional study using secondary data that refers to HANCI measurements. This research stage consisted of identification of potential indicators, qualitative selection of candidate indicator, assessment of indicator used the scoring method, and applied the method to provinces in Indonesia. Results: The result showed shortlist of 42 commitment indicators of food and nutrition security and aggregate score of provinces. Only 2.9% of provinces had high commitment and 17.6% of provinces with low commitment level. Highest rank was achieved by East Java Province and the lowest rank was East Nusa Tenggara Province. Low political commitment could lead to low priority of food and nutrition interventions. The government was in need to make regulations/policies and prepare adequate budgets for specific and sensitive food and nutrition programs.Conclusions: Development of this evaluation method is relevant to show the commitment of the regional government. The government needs to improve efforts to address problems of food and nutrition.ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Metode evaluasi komitmen pemerintah daerah provinsi dalam pembangunan ketahanan pangan dan gizi saat ini belum tersedia. Index yang mengukur komitmen pemerintah terhadap ketahanan pangan dan gizi secara nasional adalah HANCI. Oleh karena itu, studi ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan metode evaluasi komitmen pemerintah daerah provinsi dalam pembangunan ketahanan pangan dan gizi.Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan metode evaluasi komitmen pemerintah daerah provinsi dalam pengembangan ketahanan pangan dan gizi.Metode: Desain penelitian ini adalah cross-sectional study dengan menggunakan data sekunder yang mengacu pada pengukuran HANCI. Tahap penelitian terdiri dari identifikasi indikator potensial, seleksi calon indikator secara kualitatif, perhitungan skor menggunakan metode scoring, dan aplikasi metode pada provinsi di Indonesia.Hasil: Hasil menunjukkan shortlist 42 indikator komitmen ketahanan pangan dan gizi dan skor agregat provinsi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa hanya 2,9% provinsi yang memiliki komitmen tinggi dan 17,6% provinsi memiliki tingkat komitmen rendah. Provinsi Jawa Timur berada pada peringkat pertama sedangkan peringkat terakhir ditempati oleh Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur. Komitmen politik yang rendah dapat menyebabkan rendahnya prioritas intervensi pangan dan gizi. Pemerintah perlu membuat peraturan/kebijakan dan menyiapkan anggaran yang memadai untuk program pangan dan gizi secara spesifik maupun sensitif.Kesimpulan: Pengembangan metode telah relevan digunakan untuk melihat komitmen pemerintah daerah provinsi. Pemerintah perlu meningkatkan upaya berupa pembuatan peraturan dan kebijakan serta anggaran untuk penanganan masalah pangan dan gizi.

Abstract

Port of Tanjung Priok is one of the ports in Indonesia which has the potential to be developed into an international seaport with the level of activity and the capacity of loading and unloading. This study aims to understand the key variables that determine the service quality of the port, so as to achieve customer satisfaction and loyalty. By using Structural Equation Modeling, this study analyzes the effects of various dimensions of service quality to customer satisfaction, and the relationships formed between perceived value and customer loyalty of the port service industry in Indonesia. The sampling method used was stratified random sampling with a total of 406 respondents. The results show positive relationships between the variables. This implies that service quality is an important aspect to focus on in order for Port of Tanjung Priok to achieve customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Abstract

Introduction: Food waste (FW) is a serious problem and significantly impacts the environment, economy, and social. Globally, the average FW reaches 121 kg/ capita/year, and households are the main contributors to FW. Several countries have implemented various strategies to prevent household FW. This review aims to explore the household FW prevention policies and their potential to be implemented in Indonesia. Discussion: Three strategies have been widely applied worldwide, including economic incentives, regulations, as well as FW awareness and behavior campaigns. In this case, the economic incentives include landfill tax, incineration tax, and Pay-As-You-Throw (PAYT). Many laws and regulations have been implemented related to waste management, food, economics, and those regulations are either directly or indirectly related to FW. The awareness and behavior change campaign is the most widely applied strategy to prevent household FW globally. Conclusion: Well-designed policies and regulations supported by education and awareness campaigns are the potential strategies for household food waste reduction and prevention in Indonesia.

Abstract

Nationally, production of broiler eggs chicken continues to increase, however production of broiler eggs chicken in Aceh Province is still low to meet the needs of the people. This study aimed to analyze the forecasting of egg production and demand for broiler chickens in Aceh Province as a source of animal protein contribution. The study was conducted in Aceh Province, which consists of 23 districts/cities. This study used descriptive quantitative methods in narrating a series of time series results obtained from secondary data. A forecasting analysis was carried out on the population, production and egg needs of purebred chickens in Aceh Province for a period of 3 years (2022-2024). There was tendency to decrease from forecasting results (2022, 2023, 2024) on the egg production of purebred chickens in Aceh Province. The egg production of broiler chickens was below the average production value in previous years, which was 8649.0 tons/year. There was a tendency to increase the demand for purebred chicken eggs from 31,008 tons per year to 32,083 tons/year for 2022 to 2024. Based on forecasting results on production and population needs for purebred chicken eggs in Aceh Province, it is not sufficient for the consumption of chicken eggs as a contribution to meet the needs of animal protein.

Abstract

National food security requires grain for food adequacy, which is then processed into rice as a cereal product, one of the most dominant food commodities for the majority of Indonesian people. The analysis of the ratio normative consumption per capita to cereal production shows that 39.66% of districts in Indonesia experience a deficit in food availability, partly due to population growth which an increase has not matched in cereal production. The purpose of this research is to perform forecasting on the amount of grain production as a reference in formulating a strategy for supplying grain to the population to fulfil the staple food consumption needs of the Indonesian population. This research method uses secondary data on grain production in Indonesia with a range of 2000-2021, and forecasting is carried out until 2024. The data source comes from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), and data processing uses SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science). Forecasting techniques use four methods: simple moving average, weight moving average, exponential smoothing and double exponential smoothing. Forecasting results for grain production in 2000-2024 were below actual production, and the peak of production increase occurred in 2017 and then decreased production until forecasting in 2024. The lowest values ​​for MAD, MSE and MAPE were for forecasting results using the WMA method.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh informasi atau gambaran perilaku gizi anak usia sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan tahap awal dan merupakan penelitian observasional dengan desain studi potong lintang (cross-sectional study) yang berlokasi di tujuh sekolah di Kota Bandung. Subjek yang menjadi sampel penelitian sebanyak 300 orang berasal dari 7 sekolah negeri di Kota Bandung. Kriteria inklusi subjek adalah siswa kelas 5 dan bersedia menjadi subjek penelitian. Pemilihan subjek dengan teknik random sampling. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui pengisian kuesioner yang terdiri atas pengetahuan gizi, sikap gizi dan praktik gizi subjek dengan teknik wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa status gizi subjek sebagian besar berada pada kategori normal. Persentase anak overweight adalah 21.7% dan obes 19.7%. Pengetahuan gizi subjek, lebih dari setengah jumlah subjek memiliki pengetahuan gizi baik (59.3%), hasil uji ANOVA menunjukkan tidak berbeda nyata antara pengetahuan gizi dari setiap kategori status gizi. Sikap gizi subjek pada umumnya (82.7%) memiliki sikap yang positif. Uji hubungan antar sikap gizi dan pengetahuan gizi memiliki hubungan positif dengan nilai (r=0.215; p=0.000). Praktik gizi subjek termasuk tindakan yang diamati dari subjek yang dapat mempengaruhi perilaku gizi subjek. Praktik gizi subjek menunjukkan kategori sedang (51.7%). Hasil uji ANOVA dan hasil uji hubungan menunjukkan pengetahuan gizi dan praktik gizi subjek tidak berbeda nyata dan tidak berhubungan.Kata kunci : Anak usia sekolah dasar, perilaku gizi, pengetahuan gizi, praktik gizi, sikap gizi

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to classify districts in Aceh Province based on indicators of poverty and stunting prevalence rates. The data used is cross-section data for 2022, including the poverty severity index, poverty depth index, the percentage of poor people, and the prevalence of stunting from the 2022 SSGI results. The method used is cluster analysis, utilizing poverty percentage data (P0) to determine clusters and analyze the difference between district clusters and the average stunting rate. Based on the analysis results, it can be concluded that poverty at the district level is grouped into three categories. Group 1 consists of districts such as Aceh Besar, Aceh Jaya, Aceh Tamiang, Central Aceh, Southeast Aceh, Biruen, Banda Aceh, Langsa, Sabang, and East Aceh. Group 2 includes the Regencies of West Aceh, Southwest Aceh, North Aceh, Nagan Raya, Lhokseumawe, and Subussalaam. Group 3 comprises Singkil, Bener Meriah, Gayo Lues, Pidie, Pidie Jaya, and Simeulu Regencies. The cluster analysis reveals that districts with lower poverty rates are in group 1, while group 2 exhibits moderate poverty, and group 3 experiences a high poverty index. Furthermore, the results of the correlation analysis show that there is a positive correlation between the percentage of stunting prevalence and the percentage of poverty with a real relationship and the correlation is significant.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis tingkat kemiskinan di Provinsi Sumatera Utara, dan kaitannya dengan Indeks Pembangunan Manusia. Penelitian menggunakan desain cross-sectional, memanfaatkan data sekunder dari BPS tahun 2022. Analisis tingkat kemiskinan digunakan data persentasi penduduk miskin, Indeks kedalaman dan Keparahan Kemiskinan. Indeks Pembangunan Manusia (IPM) dihitung berdasarkan komponen IPM yang terdiri atas umur panjang dan hidup sehat, pengetahuan dan standar hidup layak. Analisis bivariat dilakukan untuk mengamati hubungan persentase kemiskinan, tingkat kedalaman dan keparahan kemiskinan terhadap Indeks Pembangunan Manusia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentasi kemiskinan (P0), tingkat kedalaman (P1), tingkat Keparahan (P2) Kemiskinan berkorelasi negatif signifikan terhadap IPM di Provinsi Sumatera Utara; sedangkan rata-rata lama sekolah, harapan lama sekolah, umur harapan hidup dan besar pengeluaran ril perkapita yang disesuaikan berkorelasi positif signifikan terhadap IPM. Terdapat hubungan negatif meskipun tidak signifikan antara kemiskinan (P0), tingkat kedalaman (P1) dan keparahan (P2) kemiskinan terhadap stunting, namun tidak ada hubungan dengan BBLR. Kemiskinan dan ketimpangan secara bersama-sama berkontribusi sebesar 77.4 % terhadap IPM di Provinsi Sumatera Utara.

Abstract

Stunting still becomes a global public health challenge affecting millions of people, including Indonesians. To alleviate the situation, Indonesia is fighting to reduce the prevalence of stunting to 10.4% in 2024 by increasing the consumption of Animal Source Foods. This study aimed to forecast the Layer Egg Production in West Java, Indonesia, as an animal source food to provide protein for reducing stunting. The study employed descriptive quantitative and time series approaches using secondary data analysis. The Layer Egg Production for 2023-2025 was forecasted using the Moving Average (MA) and Weighted Moving Average (WMA) using Layer Egg production data for 2000-2022. The WMA method was more accurate as it had a Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) of 15.32 compared to a MAPE of MA of 16.23. Furthermore, the population projections for West Java 2021-2025 were made by the Geometric method. The study's findings declare that the Layer Egg Production is still low to meet the population demand for West Java. In this case, the population can get 18.77 g of egg per person daily, an average of 2.4g of protein. In addition, the egg contributes 4.2% to the protein required by each person a day.
