Abstract

Adolescents with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) often face complex challenges in their social relationships of rejection, including rejection from peers, stigma and difficulty in building meaningful friendships. However, some of them are able to show resilience in adapting positively in the midst of the social pressures they face. This study aims to explore the role of peer support as a social protective factor in building resilience of adolescents with ADHD through the perspective of Positive Psychology. This study uses a literature review method that refers to 20 selected articles in the range of 2015 – 2025, which are then analyzed thematically. The results of the review show that peer support contributes greatly to increased social acceptance, self-efficacy, emotion regulation, and minimizing the impact of stigma. Supportive peer relationships not only encourage adaptive coping strategies but also serve as a foundation for healthier psychosocial development, especially for adolescents with ADHD. The study also emphasizes the need for a shift from a deficit paradigm to a culturally sensitive strength, in order to maximize the resilience potential of adolescents with ADHD in their social contexts.

Abstract

The increasing prevalence of single-parent families in Indonesia, as a consequence of the high rate of divorce or death of a partner, drives the urgency to understand family resilience in this context. This phenomenon is crucial considering that changes in family structure can significantly affect the psychological well-being of both parents and children. This study synthesizes and analyzes the existing literature on the resilience of single-parent families in Indonesia, with a particular focus on the psychological factors influencing family welfare and adaptation. The approach used was a literature review, with articles collected from the Scopus and Google Scholar databases. The initial search process resulted in 1678 articles, which were then filtered down to 20 relevant articles. Key findings suggest that individual psychological factors, diverse coping strategies, and sociocultural support, including the role of gender-based social stigma and religious values significantly affect single-parent family resilience. This study emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach that considers the peculiarities of Indonesia's cultural context in an effort to support the resilience of single-parent families. It is hoped that this research can provide essential insights for the development of social policies and interventions that are more effective for single-parent families in Indonesia.

Abstract

Adolescence is a critical developmental stage marked by emotional volatility and identity exploration. However, not all adolescents navigate this phase successfully many exhibit risky behaviors categorized as juvenile delinquency. This literature review aims to examine the role of self-control in adolescent delinquency by exploring the types of delinquent behaviors associated with low self-control, identifying environmental factors that influence self-control, and analyzing the educational and psychosocial implications of these findings. Using articles published between 2020 and 2025 sourced from Google Scholar, Scopus, and EBSCO, a total of 11 relevant studies were reviewed. The analysis revealed that low self-control significantly contributes to aggressive behavior, substance abuse, cyberbullying, and sexual offenses among youth. Furthermore, external factors such as permissive parenting, deviant peer influence, and punitive school discipline were found to weaken self-control, whereas consistent parental attachment and supportive school environments can strengthen it. This review highlights the need for integrated interventions involving family, schools, and community support systems to enhance adolescents' self-control capacities and reduce delinquent behaviors. These findings support the theoretical framework of self-control theory while emphasizing the interplay between individual psychological traits and environmental contexts.

Abstract

Intercultural marriage has become increasingly common in the era of globalization; however, cultural differences between partners introduce complex challenges in maintaining marital well-being. This literature review aims to explore the concept of marital flourishing within the context of intercultural couples and the psychological factors that support it. Using a narrative literature review method, the study analyzed 12 relevant articles published between 2015– 2025 that focus on the psychological aspects of intercultural marriage. The findings reveal that marital flourishing is influenced by a combination of internal factors (such as self-compassion, mindfulness, and life management skills), effective communication, communal values, religiosity, and social support. Cultural differences necessitate ongoing adaptation and cultural negotiation. This study highlights the importance of a multidisciplinary approach and culturally sensitive interventions to support intercultural couples in building a healthy and fulfilling marriage.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically review the empirical literature on the role of positive emotions in encouraging pro-environmental behavior (PEB). Through the systematic literature review method, as many as 10 selected articles published between 2015–2025 were analyzed based on certain criteria, such as focus on specific positive emotions and relevance to pro-environmental actions. The results of the study showed that emotions such as anticipated pride, satisfaction, subjective happiness, compassion, and connection with nature had a significant influence on increasing individual intentions and involvement in pro-environmental actions. These emotions also act as mediators between other psychological factors, such as social norms, self-efficacy, and personal values, and actual behavior. This study highlights that positive emotions-based approaches are more effective and sustainable than approaches that emphasize guilt or fear. These findings contribute to the development of more empowering environmental communication and education strategies and support consistent eco-friendly behaviors.

Abstract

Minangkabau people migrate to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities. Becoming an entrepreneur in a foreign land is not without various challenges, whether from an economic, environmental, or cultural perspective. Entrepreneurs who can navigate these challenges tend to have a resilient personality, driven by their entrepreneurial motivation. This study aims to examine the extent to which entrepreneurial motivation influences the hardiness of Minangkabau migrant entrepreneurs. The research employs a quantitative method using nonlinear quadratic regression analysis. The respondents in this study consisted of 96 participants selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using the Entrepreneurial Motivation Scale and the Dispositional Resilience Scale: A Short Hardiness Scale. The results indicate that entrepreneurial motivation significantly influences the hardiness of Minangkabau migrant entrepreneurs, as shown by an R2 value of .505. This means that entrepreneurial motivation contributes 50.5% to the hardiness of Minangkabau migrant entrepreneurs.
