Abstract

This study examined the effects of Training Quality and Work Motivation on Teacher Performance among vocational high school teachers. A quantitative explanatory survey was conducted involving all 31 teachers at SMKN 7 Sijunjung using a census sampling technique. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.1.0.8. The measurement model demonstrated satisfactory reliability and validity. Training Quality had the strongest positive effect on Teacher Performance (β = 0.646, p < 0.001), followed by Work Motivation (β = 0.416, p < 0.001). Together, both variables explained 64.9% of the variance in Teacher Performance (R² = 0.649). Enhancing teacher performance requires integrating high-quality professional development with strategies that strengthen teachers' work motivation

Abstract

The low learning outcomes of Grade X Welding Engineering students in the Fundamentals of Welding Engineering and Metal Fabrication course at SMK Negeri 1 Sumbar were influenced by a learning process that remained dominated by the lecture method, resulting in students being less active and motivated to participate in learning. This study aimed to describe the implementation of the guided inquiry learning model and analyze its effect on students’ learning outcomes. The study employed an experimental method with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The research sample included all 35 Grade X LAS students at SMK Negeri 1 Sumbar. Data were collected using a learning achievement test that had been assessed for validity, reliability, difficulty level, and discriminating power. The data were analyzed through normality and homogeneity tests, followed by hypothesis testing using a paired-samples t-test. The results showed that the mean posttest score was 83.86, which was higher than the mean pretest score of 61.20. The hypothesis test yielded a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05; therefore, H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted at a significance level of α = 0.05. These findings indicated a significant difference in learning outcomes before and after the implementation of the guided inquiry learning model. Thus, the guided inquiry learning model had a significant effect on the learning outcomes of Grade X LAS students in the Fundamentals of Welding Engineering and Metal Fabrication course at SMK Negeri 1 Sumbar. The implementation of this model can serve as an alternative learning approach that promotes student activeness and improves learning achievement in vocational education.

Abstract

Workshop facilities and learning motivation are important factors in supporting the success of practical learning, particularly in the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) subject at vocational high schools. This study aimed to analyze the effects of workshop facilities and learning motivation, both partially and simultaneously, on the learning outcomes of eleventh-grade Machining Engineering students in the SMAW subject at SMK Negeri 5 Padang. The study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design and involved a population of 53 eleventh-grade Machining Engineering students from classes XI TP 1 and XI TP 2. Data were collected through questionnaires, documentation, and observation and were then analyzed using simple linear regression and multiple linear regression. The results showed that workshop facilities had a significant effect on students’ learning outcomes, with a calculated t-value of 9.672 and the regression equation Y = −28.155 + 1.720X₁. Learning motivation also had a significant effect on learning outcomes, with a calculated t-value of 9.378 and the regression equation Y = 28.32 + 10.61X₂. Simultaneously, workshop facilities and learning motivation had a positive and significant effect on students’ learning outcomes, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.724 and the regression equation Y = 23.878 + 1.009X₁ + 0.578X₂. These findings confirm that adequate workshop facilities and high learning motivation jointly contribute to improving students’ learning outcomes in SMAW welding instruction. The implications of this study indicate the need for schools to improve the provision of practical facilities and foster students’ motivation through contextual and participatory learning strategies.

Abstract

Berkembangnya studi mengenai AI dalam pendidikan secara global, tidak otomatis menghilangkan kesenjangan dalam memahami bagaimana bidang penelitian ini berkembang dalam konteks Indonesia. Dalam upaya memahami bagaimana AI dalam pendidikan di Indonesia yang memiliki tantangan pendidikannya tersendiri. Studi ini mengadopsi systematic literature review, yang menunjukkan peningkatan jumlah studi mengenai AI dalam pendidikan di Indonesia tiap tahunnya, terdapat juga daerah pada regional Jawa yang masih mendominasi tempat penelitian, masih kurangnya studi yang berfokus pada aspek etis, metodologi studi yang masih didominasi oleh perceftion-based. Studi ini merekomendasikan peningkatan jumlah studi yang tidak hanya berfokus pada aspek pedagogis, namun juga etis, serta studi yang mencakup regional-regional lain di Indonesia yang belum tersentuh oleh penelitian sebelumnya.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of competence, work environment, and industrial internship on learning effectiveness through teacher performance in Vocational High Schools (SMK) using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. A total of 35 relevant articles published between 2020 and 2025 were thematically analyzed to identify patterns and gaps in related research. The study results show that teacher competencies, especially in pedagogical and professional aspects, strongly influence student motivation and learning outcomes. A conducive working environment and effective leadership also improve teachers' performance in delivering materials optimally. In addition, the industrial apprenticeship program (PKL) for students and teachers is proven to improve the relevance of learning to the needs of the world of work, although its implementation still faces various challenges such as the lack of guidance from the industry and the mismatch of tasks with student competencies. This review suggests the need for continuous synergy between schools and industry and strengthening teacher training to make vocational education more responsive to labor market dynamics. Further research is recommended to examine the long-term impact of vocational education on graduates' career success and the development of effective school-industry partnership models

Abstract

This study systematically examines the factors that affect students' job readiness and satisfaction in engineering education through a comprehensive analysis of industry support, certification programs, and academic engagement. The Industrial Revolution 4.0 era has created a significant skills gap between graduate competencies and industry needs, demanding innovative approaches in the preparation of work-ready graduates. Through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) which follows PRISMA's guidelines for articles obtained from the ScienceDirect database during the period 2017-2024, this study integrates evidence from multiple theoretical frameworks including experiential learning theory, social cognitive theory, and human capital theory. Of the 800 articles identified through ScienceDirect's database search, after going through a rigorous PRISMA selection process with quality assessment using the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool (MMAT), 185 high-quality articles were successfully selected and analyzed in depth. Key findings show a significant positive relationship between industry-university collaboration, the implementation of professional certification programs, and active academic involvement to improving job readiness and student satisfaction. The analysis revealed that the implementation of industrial internship programs (94% effectiveness, satisfaction score 4.6/5.0), industry-specific competency certification (satisfaction rating 4.4/5.0), and extracurricular activities such as capstone projects and engineering competitions can significantly increase employability. Nonetheless, systemic challenges such as curriculum gaps with industry needs (identified in 68.1% of studies), limited faculty experience in industry (53% of studies), and infrastructure limitations (47% of studies) remain structural barriers that require comprehensive solutions. This research provides an evidence-based framework for transforming technical education toward more industry-relevant, student-centered approaches and provides actionable recommendations for educational practitioners, policymakers, and industry partners.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study examines the relationship between talent and interest in CNC machine programming skills in grade XI students of Mechanical Engineering SMK Negeri 2 Payakumbuh. The problems addressed in this study are the low talent of students in CNC programming, the low interest of students in participating in learning and doing CNC programming tasks, and the students' skills in developing and implementing CNC programs are not optimal. This study aims to find out the relationship between talent and interest in CNC machine programming skills. This study uses a quantitative method with a correlational approach. This study involved 60 students of grade XI TPM 1 and XI TPM 2, where the entire population was sampled using the total sampling technique. The instrument consists of a questionnaire for talents and interests as well as a rubric of CNC machining programming skills assessment. Data analysis uses descriptive statistics, prerequisite tests, and hypothesis tests using product moment correlation and multiple correlation. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between talent (r = 0.912; p < 0.05) and interest (r = 0.928; p < 0.05) with CNC machining programming skills. Simultaneously, talent and interest had a positive and significant relationship with CNC machine programming skills (R = 0.941; R² = 0.885). Thus, talents and interests play an important role in improving students' skills. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini mengkaji hubungan antara bakat dan minat terhadap keterampilan pemrograman mesin CNC pada siswa kelas XI Teknik Pemesinan SMK Negeri 2 Payakumbuh. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya bakat siswa dalam pemrograman CNC, rendahnya minat siswa dalam mengikuti pembelajaran dan mengerjakan tugas pemrograman CNC, serta keterampilan siswa dalam menyusun dan menerapkan program CNC belum optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara bakat dan minat terhadap keterampilan pemrograman mesin CNC. Penelitian ini menggunkan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan korelasional. Penelitian ini melibatkan 60 siswa kelas XI TPM 1 dan XI TPM 2, dimana seluruh populasi dijadikan sampel menggunakan teknik total sampling. Instrumen terdiri dari angket untuk bakat dan minat serta rubrik penilaian keterampilan pemrograman mesin CNC. Analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif, uji prasyarat, dan uji hipotesis menggunakan korelasi product moment serta korelasi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hubungan positif dan signifikan antara bakat (r = 0,912; p < 0,05) maupun minat (r = 0,928; p < 0,05) dengan keterampilan pemrograman mesin CNC. Secara simultan, bakat dan minat memiliki hubungan positif dan signifikan terhadap keterampilan pemrograman mesin CNC (R = 0,941; R² = 0,885). Dengan demikian, bakat dan minat berperan penting dalam meningkatkan keterampilan siswa.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Vocational education plays a crucial role in preparing graduates with competencies aligned with industrial demands. However, students' learning outcomes on lathe cutting parameter materials remain suboptimal due to teacher-centered instruction and the limited use of technology-based learning media. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) assisted by instructional videos on students' learning outcomes and to compare its effectiveness with conventional instruction. A quantitative approach employing a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design was used. The participants consisted of 50 eleventh-grade machining engineering students at SMK Negeri 1 Padang, divided into an experimental class and a control class. Data were collected using a multiple-choice achievement test and analyzed through the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, Levene's homogeneity test, Independent Samples t-test, and N-Gain analysis. The results revealed a significant difference in learning outcomes between the two groups (p = 0.000), with the experimental class achieving a higher posttest mean score than the control class. Furthermore, the experimental class attained a high N-Gain score (0.701), while the control class achieved a moderate N-Gain score (0.419). These findings indicate that PjBL assisted by instructional videos is an effective instructional approach for improving students' learning outcomes on lathe cutting parameter materials. ABSTRAK Peningkatan kompetensi siswa pada pendidikan vokasi memerlukan pembelajaran yang mampu menghubungkan pemahaman konseptual dengan penerapan praktik. Namun, hasil belajar siswa pada materi parameter pemotongan mesin bubut masih belum optimal karena pembelajaran cenderung berpusat pada guru dan pemanfaatan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis efektivitas penerapan Project Based Learning (PjBL) berbantuan video pembelajaran terhadap hasil belajar siswa serta membandingkannya dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi experiment dan desain nonequivalent control group design. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 50 siswa kelas XI Teknik Pemesinan di SMK Negeri 1 Padang yang terbagi menjadi kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes hasil belajar, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji Shapiro–Wilk, uji Levene, Independent Sample t-test, dan N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar yang signifikan antara kedua kelas (Sig. = 0,000), dengan rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Nilai N-Gain kelas eksperimen berada pada kategori tinggi (0,701), sedangkan kelas kontrol berada pada kategori sedang (0,419). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan PjBL berbantuan video pembelajaran efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi parameter pemotongan mesin bubut.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The low participation of vocational high school graduates in pursuing higher education remains a major challenge in Indonesian vocational education, despite the important role of higher education in improving graduates' competencies and competitiveness. Learning motivation is considered one of the internal factors associated with students' intention to continue their studies. This study aimed to examine the relationship between learning motivation and the intention to pursue higher education among eleventh-grade Mechanical Engineering students at SMKN 1 Sumatera Barat. A quantitative correlational design was employed. The sample consisted of 79 students selected using simple random sampling and proportional random sampling techniques. Data were collected through a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality and linearity tests, and Pearson Product Moment correlation with IBM SPSS Statistics 23. The findings revealed a positive and significant relationship between learning motivation and students' intention to pursue higher education (r = 0.612, p = 0.000). These findings indicate that strengthening students' learning motivation may enhance their educational aspirations. Therefore, schools should implement academic guidance, career counseling, and higher education information programs to foster students' motivation and encourage them to continue their studies. ABSTRAK Rendahnya partisipasi lulusan SMK dalam melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi masih menjadi tantangan pendidikan vokasi di Indonesia, meskipun pendidikan tinggi berperan penting dalam meningkatkan kompetensi dan daya saing lulusan. Salah satu faktor internal yang diduga berkaitan dengan minat melanjutkan studi adalah motivasi belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis hubungan antara motivasi belajar dengan minat melanjutkan studi ke perguruan tinggi pada siswa kelas XI Program Keahlian Teknik Mesin di SMKN 1 Sumatera Barat. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Sampel berjumlah 79 siswa yang dipilih melalui simple random sampling dan proportional random sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan angket skala Likert dan dianalisis melalui statistik deskriptif, uji normalitas, uji linearitas, serta korelasi Pearson Product Moment menggunakan IBM SPSS Statistics 23. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara motivasi belajar dengan minat melanjutkan studi (r = 0,612; p = 0,000). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan motivasi belajar berpotensi memperkuat orientasi siswa untuk melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi. Oleh karena itu, sekolah perlu mengembangkan program yang mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar melalui bimbingan akademik, layanan karier, dan penyediaan informasi pendidikan tinggi.

Abstract

Terlaksananya proses pembelajaran disekolah tidak lepas dari penggunan media pembelajaran sebagai alat interaksi antara siswa dan guru. Salah satu media pembelajaran yang banyak digunakan yaitu Modul. Pengembangan modul untuk pembelajaran sangat efektif di gunakan sebagai media pembelajaran di sekolah. Ketersediaan modul yang sangat minim membuat siswa susah mencari pedoman sewaktu belajar terutama pada mata pelajaran Teknik pemesinan bubut dengan materi pembuatan ulir khususnya ulir segitiga, sehingga banyak siswa yang kurang mampu dalam pembuatan ulir segitiga. Maka dari itu perlu adanya pengembangan modul khusunya pada pembuatan ulir segita guna meningkatkan kemampuan siswa saat melakukan pratikum pembuatan ulir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan modul pratikum sebagai media pembelajaran pada mata pelajaran Teknik Pemesina Bubut khususnya Pembuatan Ulir segitiga. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rnd (research and development) yang mengadopsi model 4-D (Four D Models) dengan beberapa tahap yang pertama pendefinisian kemudian dilanjutkan dengan tahap pembuatan desain tampilan, pengembangan, dan penyebaran. Hasil Penelitian menunjukan bahwa Modul praktikum yang di buat untuk pembelajaran pembuatan Ulir Segitiga mendapatkan penilaian sangat layak dari beberapa validasi diantaranya ahli materi dan ahli media. Berdasarkan pendapat guru Modul yang dikembangakan masuk kedalam kategori sangat layak. Kesimpulan dari riset ini bahwa modul praktikum ini layak di gunakan di SMK Negeri 1 Tanjung Raya sebagai bahan tambahan yang dapat digunakan untuk belajar mengajar.
