Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of work readiness on the quarter-life crisis among 2024 fresh graduates in Padang City. A quantitative approach was employed, involving 150 fresh graduates selected through purposive sampling based on the criteria of graduating in 2024, being unmarried, and currently unemployed. Data were collected using two instruments: the quarter-life crisis scale developed by Hasyim (2024) and the work readiness scale by Wijayanti (2019). Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression. The results show a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) with a regression coefficient of −0.264, indicating a significant negative effect between work readiness and the quarter-life crisis. These findings suggest that the higher the level of work readiness, the lower the level of quarter-life crisis experienced by 2024 fresh graduates in Padang City.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of the Big Five Personality Traits on academic procrastination in thesis completion among students at Universitas Negeri Padang. A quantitative approach was used, with proportional random sampling to select a sample of 259 students from the 2018–2020 cohorts who had enrolled in the thesis course for at least one year. The instruments employed included the IPIP-BFM-50 scale to measure the five personality dimensions and an academic procrastination scale to assess the level of task delay. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results revealed that among the five personality dimensions, only neuroticism had a significant effect on academic procrastination in thesis completion. This indicates that students with higher neuroticism scores tend to exhibit greater tendencies to postpone academic tasks, including thesis work. These findings highlight the importance of considering personality traits in academic mentoring strategies and stress management interventions for students.

Abstract

Employees who match their jobs have a much higher level of job satisfaction than employees who experience a mismatch with their jobs. Several studies say that a mismatch between education and work can have an impact on low levels of job satisfaction and make mismatch one of the factors that influences a person's job satisfaction. Based on several studies, the results show that job satisfaction is influenced by two things, namely work factors and individual factors, for example age and education. Government services have the highest level of nonconformity, namely 74.24%. Based on the data that has been explained, it is known that there is data on job qualification discrepancies in Indonesia, especially in the government sector. The aim of this research is to determine the differences in job satisfaction of state civil servants in the Padang City Government who experience job mismatch based on age and education. This research was studied using quantitative research with a comparative approach. Data collection was carried out using a Google form by distributing the barcode scan questionnaire link via WhatsApp social media and the Google Leans application. The data analysis technique for this research uses the two way anova test. The results obtained in this research show that there is no difference in job satisfaction of Padang City Government ASN who experience job mismatch based on age and education.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the extent to which the Big Five Personality traits influence suicidal ideation in individuals transitioning into emerging adulthood. A quantitative approach was employed, with a purposive sample of 100 individuals aged 18-25 who had experienced suicidal ideation. Two primary instruments were utilized: the IPIP-BFM-50 scale to measure participants' personality traits on the five dimensions, and the Beck Scale for Suicide Ideation to assess the frequency and intensity of suicidal thoughts. Multiple linear regression analysis was conducted to analyze the data. Results indicated that of the five personality dimensions, only Neuroticism demonstrated a significant relationship with suicide ideation. Specifically, higher scores on the Neuroticism dimension were associated with a greater likelihood of experiencing suicidal thoughts.

Abstract

Although the phenomenon of educated unemployment has serious psychological implications, empirical studies on the level of psychological well-being in this group viewed from demographic characteristics remain limited. This study aimed to describe psychological well-being among educated unemployed individuals in Padang City based on gender, age, marital status, and education level. A quantitative approach with a descriptive design was employed, involving 103 educated unemployed individuals selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using a Psychological Well-Being scale and analyzed with descriptive statistics, independent samples t-test, and one-way ANOVA. The results showed that, overall, the psychological well-being of educated unemployed individuals in Padang City was at a moderate level. There was a difference in psychological well-being based on gender, with women having higher psychological well-being than men. In addition, there were differences in psychological well-being based on marital status and education level, indicating that educated unemployed individuals who were unmarried and those with lower levels of education had higher psychological well-being, whereas age did not show a significant difference. These findings enrich the literature on psychological well-being among the educated unemployed and provide an empirical basis for designing psychosocial intervention programs that are more sensitive to demographic characteristics.

Abstract

Kekerasan dalam pacaran merupakan fenomena yang mengkhawatirkan di kalangan mahasiswa, sering kali dinormalisasi dan dipertahankan meski menimbulkan dampak buruk. Penelitian kualitatif fenomenologis ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pengalaman mahasiswi di Kota Padang yang bertahan dalam hubungan pacaran penuh kekerasan, dengan fokus pada peran disonansi kognitif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan tiga partisipan dan dianalisis menggunakan Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). Temuan penelitian mengungkap bahwa partisipan mengalami berbagai bentuk kekerasan (verbal, fisik, psikologis, seksual) dan kontrol yang sistematis. Untuk meredakan ketegangan psikologis antara keyakinan akan hubungan yang dicintai dan realita disakiti, mereka melakukan mekanisme reduksi disonansi kognitif, seperti merasionalisasi kekerasan sebagai hal wajar, memaknai kontrol sebagai perhatian, dan membenarkan ketahanan hubungan berdasarkan investasi emosional atau finansial. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa normalisasi kekerasan merupakan strategi kognitif aktif untuk mempertahankan konsistensi psikis. Implikasinya, intervensi pencegahan perlu menjangkau aspek restrukturisasi kognitif di samping edukasi tentang relasi sehat.
