Abstract

Latar Belakang: Pemanfaatan tanaman herbal di Baratajaya, Surabaya memiliki potensi besar untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan ekonomi lokal, namun kurangnya keterampilan teknis dan minimnya kolaborasi antar pengusaha menjadi kendala utama. Tujuan: Program pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan budidaya, pengolahan, dan pemasaran produk herbal serta menciptakan kolaborasi antar pengusaha. Metode: Metode yang digunakan meliputi pelatihan intensif dari pakar ITS dan praktisi industri, diikuti pendampingan usaha berbasis sociopreneur kepada lebih dari 50 peserta. Hasil: Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan dalam budidaya tanaman herbal serta pengembangan produk turunan seperti jamu dan minyak herbal. Kolaborasi yang terjalin meningkatkan skala produksi dan daya saing produk di pasar lokal. Kesimpulan: Pelatihan dan kolaborasi efektif dalam menciptakan ekonomi berkelanjutan dan melestarikan kearifan lokal, serta memberikan dampak positif bagi kesejahteraan ekonomi dan sosial masyarakat. Program ini memiliki potensi untuk diterapkan di wilayah lain.

Abstract

Nicotiana tabacum (tobacco) is one of the most commercially agricultural crops in the world. Indonesia is one of the top ten tobacco producing countries in the world since 1990’s. Based on literature studies, tobacco has the main secondary metabolites such as cembranoids and flavonoids. They have fine biological activities as antiviral, antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-HIV, anti-proliferative, anti-inflammatory, anti-parasitic, anti-termite, and cytotoxicity effects. Therefore, N. tabacum is potential for further investigation on natural products research. This review aims to provide scientific evidences related to structure activity relationship between secondary metabolites and biological activities of N. tabacum.

Abstract

Nicotiana tabacum, recognized as tobacco, has been reported its secondary metabolites and biological activities in the past decade. Madura is one of the islands in Indonesia that produces N. tabacum rapidly. In Madura, N. tabacum is called as bhekoh. Previously, antioxidant activity of N. tabacum leaves extracts has been reported. However, the extracts showed very low antioxidant activity due to low of the stock concentration. Accordingly, this research was aimed at the antibacterial and antioxidant evaluation of N. tabacum leaves from Madura with improvement of the concentration. Furthermore, N. tabacum leaves were extracted by using different solvents including n-hexane, dichloromethane, ethyl acetate, acetone, and methanol. The extracts have been evaluated their antibacterial activities by using colorimetric resazurin microtiter assay (REMA) method. The extracts have been assayed their antibacterial activities against both gram-positive and negative bacteria. While, the antioxidant evaluation has been determined by using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picryl-hydrazyl (DPPH) method. The result showed that the extracts have fine antibacterial and antioxidant activities. The methanol extract presented antioxidant activity with IC50 of 12.12 ppm compared to gallic acid as a standard. Furthermore, the acetone extract showed the highest antibacterial activity against Bacillus subtilis, Propionibacterium acnes, and Salmonella typhi with MIC of 0.31, 0.63, and 0.63 mg/mL, respectively, compared to ampicillin as a standard. In conclusion, the acetone and methanol extracts have the highest antibacterial and antioxidant activities. Therefore, our result suggested acetone and methanol extracts of N. tabacum leaves as antibacterial and antioxidant agents.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this research is to examine the existence of Fisher Effect for Indonesian Economy, by regressing interest rate on rate of inflation in period 1980-2011. With co-integration and error correction technique, the results indicate that an increases of one percent in inflation rate lead to increase in interest rate at 0,13 percent in short-run and at 0,95 percent in long- run. This research can’t confirm the existence of Fisher Effect in Indonesian Economy in short-run, but this effect exists in long-run. Keywords: Fisher Effect, Interest Rate, Inflation Rate, Co-integration, Error Correction Model ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji keberadaan efek Fisher pada perekonomian Indonesia, dengan melakukan regresi laju inflasi terhadap suku bunga pada tahun periode 1980-2011. Dengan menggunakan teknik co-integration dan error correction, hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa kenaikan satu persen laju inflasi mengakibatkan kenaikan suku bunga sebesar 0,13 persen dalam jangka pendek dan kenaikan suku bunga sebesar 0,95 persen dalam jangka panjang. Riset ini tidak dapat mengkonfirmasi keberadaan efek Fisher pada perekonomian Indonesia dalam jangka pendek, tetapi efek Fisher tersebut terbukti keberadaannya pada perekonomian Indonesia dalam jangka panjang. Abstract

Background: Chitosan synthesized from Penaeus monodon shells was developed into a chitosan-gelatin suspension as an injectable bone substitute for socket preservation. Purpose: To investigate the characteristics of chitosan from P. monodon shells and their influence on the viscosity of a chitosan-gelatin suspension. Methods: P. monodon shells from Tarakan Waters were prepared using three methods: Group 1) deproteinization-depigmentation-deacetylation, Group 2) demineralization-depigmentation-deacetylation, and Group 3) deproteinization-demineralization-depigmentation-deacetylation. The chitosan was characterized by morphology, moisture and ash content, molecular weight (MW), deacetylation degree (DD), and viscosity. This chitosan was made into a chitosan-gelatin suspension with a ratio of 45:55 (w/w%) (95 ml:110 ml). The differences in viscosity of the chitosan-gelatin suspension were determined using Kruskal–Wallis and Mann–Whitney tests. The effects of the chitosan’s MW and DD on the viscosity of the chitosan-gelatin suspension were analyzed using Spearman’s correlation. Results: Group 2 had the highest moisture content (10.63%), MW (159.68 kDa), viscosity of the chitosan powder (5.53 dPa.s), and viscosity of the chitosan-gelatin suspension (40.20 cps). Group 1 had the highest ash content (27.83%) and DD (93.72%). Group 3 showed the lowest ash content (1.06%), MW (37.12 kDa), and DD (86.22%), but it had good viscosity of the chitosan-gelatin suspension (37.25 cps). A significant difference in viscosity was found between the chitosan-gelatin suspension groups. Spearman’s correlation coefficients between the viscosity of the chitosan-gelatin suspension and MW and between the viscosity of the chitosan-gelatin suspension and DD were 0.389 and −0.195, respectively. Conclusion: The viscosity of a chitosan-gelatin suspension is influenced by the MW and DD of the chitosan powder. Chitosan from P. monodon can potentially be an injectable bone substitute in socket preservation.

Abstract

This study aims to create an integrated assessment instrument for environmental science literacy focused on thermodynamics for high school students. The research methodology employed is Research and Development (R&D), specifically using the 4-D model. Participants in the study included 34 twelfth-grade students from Public High School 1 Palangka Raya. The validity of the instrument was evaluated using Aiken's index with input from five expert validators, while its quality was analyzed through the Rasch Model. The findings indicate that the instrument demonstrates unidimensionality, with a Raw Variance Explained by Measures value of 43.2%, confirming its effectiveness in assessing the desired aspects of science literacy. Out of the 16 items analyzed, 13 were considered fitting. The instrument also showed exceptionally high reliability, boasting a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.89, and most items exhibited no gender bias, according to the Differential Item Functioning (DIF) test. This instrument's development is anticipated to assist students in connecting scientific concepts to real-world scenarios, enhance their science literacy skills, and raise awareness of the importance of environmental conservation, particularly regarding peatland preservation in Palangka Raya.

Abstract

Keterbatasan instrumen tes keterampilan berpikir kreatif pada materi energi terbarukan menjadi alasan perlunya pengembangan dan analisis instrumen secara mendalam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis butir soal instrumen tes keterampilan berpikir kreatif pada materi energi terbarukan secara keseluruhan menggunakan Rasch Model. Pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif diterapkan sebagai metode penelitian dengan mengambil subjek sebanyak 34 siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Palangka Raya yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes berupa soal essay sebanyak 12 soal. Hasil data dianalisis menggunakan Rasch Model berbantuan software Winsteps 5.9.0. dengan beberapa parameter uji: unidimensionality, item fit, DIF, reliabilitas, separation, wright maps, dan tingkat kesukaran soal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan unidimensionality, dengan nilai raw variance explained by measures sebesar 46,9% (baik), dari 12 soal yang dianalisis, 6 soal fit dengan model, sementara sisanya perlu direvisi. Tidak teramati bias terhadap butir soal berdasarkan hasil DIF (p>0,05). Namun, 2 butir soal dengan nilai logit ekstrem (2<logit<-2 ) tergolong sulit sekali dan mudah sekali sehingga perlu perhatian lebih lanjut. Nilai Cronbach’s Alpha senilai 0,62 tergolong cukup dalam pengukuran. Hasil indeks separation (H) item (4), dan person (2) menunjukkan kemampuan instrumen dalam membedakan tingkat kemampuan siswa dan tingkat kesukaran soal secara jelas. Sebaran kemampuan siswa berdasarkan wright maps, berada pada logit 0 hingga -1. Instrumen ini memiliki kualitas yang cukup valid dan reliabel sebagai alat ukur keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa pada materi energi terbarukan dan dapat digunakan oleh pendidik. Rekomendasi penelitian selanjutnya perlu mengembangkan instrumen dengan indikator berpikir kreatif secara merata, memperluas sampel uji coba instrumen, serta mengombinasikan pendekatan analisis lainnya agar kualitas instrumen lebih akurat.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kreatif adalah salah satu keterampilan penting yang wajib dikuasai oleh peserta didik untuk menghadapi tantangan abad ke-21. Penelitian memiliki tujuan untuk menggambarkan dan menganalisis profil keterampilan berpikir kreatif peserta didik kelas X dalam mata pelajaran fisika di SMA Negeri 1 Palangka Raya. Keterampilan berpikir kreatif dievaluasi menggunakan tiga indikator utama, yaitu keluwesan (flexibility), kelancaran (fluency) dan keaslian (originality) pada materi besaran dan satuan, dengan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dalam bentuk soal essay sebanyak 9 soal materi besaran dan satuan yang telah divalidasi oleh ahli dengan nilai hasil sebesar 99,62% dan dengan nilai reliabilitas sebesar 0,805. Sampel penelitian adalah 38 peserta didik yang diambil secara purposive sampling. Data diperoleh melalui tes essay yang dirancang berdasarkan indikator-indikator tersebut. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa nilai tertinggi berada pada indikator kelancaran sebesar 65%, diikuti oleh keaslian 58%, dan keluwesan 46%. Mayoritas peserta didik tergolong dalam kategori cukup kreatif, sementara hanya sejumlah kecil yang berada dalam kategori kurang kreatif. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik mampu menghasilkan banyak ide namun masih kurang dalam fleksibilitas berpikir dan keunikan gagasan. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa pembelajaran fisika perlu dirancang untuk meningkatkan keluwesan dan keaslian dalam berpikir kreatif. Rekomendasi pembelajaran berbasis proyek diusulkan untuk mengatasi keterbatasan tersebut, sehingga dapat memfasilitasi pengembangan keterampilan berpikir kreatif yang lebih holistik pada peserta didik

Abstract

Penelitian ini menyelidiki bagaimana praktikum berpengaruh pada pembelajaran fisik siswa, terutama kinematika gerak lurus. Dalam penelitian ini, desain quasi eksperimen yang digunakan adalah pendekatan satu kelompok pretest-posttest. Sampel terdiri dari 43 siswa. Tes dilakukan melalui soal esai, dan data dianalisis menggunakan SPSS 27. Hasil belajar diukur dengan membandingkan nilai pretest dan posttest. Nilai rata-rata pretest adalah 55,93, dan nilai signifikansi normalitasnya adalah 0,887 dan 0,831, masing-masing lebih besar dari 0,05, yang menunjukkan distribusi normal. Terdapat perbedaan statistik yang signifikan antara variabel awal dan akhir, menurut nilai signifikansi uji-t sebesar 0,001. Effect size yang dihitung sebesar 2,4 termasuk kategori tinggi dengan tingkat efektivitas sebesar 98%. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa tentang topik gerak lurus meningkat secara signifikan ketika mereka menggunakan praktikum, yang menunjukkan bahwa praktik memiliki efek positif pada pembelajaran fisik siswa.
