Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Jamu is one of Indonesia's traditional medicines that is widely consumed by the public. According to a national survey in 2023, nearly 50% of Indonesians use jamu for treatment or maintaining their health. Public interest in jamu has been increasing in recent years, creating more opportunities to generate new jobs. However, a major challenge is the lack of knowledge among entrepreneurs and the public about processing raw materials for jamu and developing innovative products. The purpose of this community service program is to enhance knowledge and skills in processing raw materials into innovative jamu products with high market value. The program's partners are the members of RT 15/RW 5, Tegalrejo District, Yogyakarta. A total of 52 members of RT 15/RW 5 Tegalrejo participated in this activity. The method used in this community service program is service learning, involving the UII pharmacy department and the community on the topic of traditional medicine production, including providing basic information about traditional medicine to the community and conducting preliminary tests to assess initial understanding.. It is followed by a training on making jamu products, such as instant ginger powder, beras kencur drinks, and butterfly pea flower drinks. The activity concludes with a post-test. The results show that this community service program improves understanding of traditional medicine and enhances the community's skills in producing marketable traditional medicine products, which can serve as business ideas in the traditional medicine sector.

Abstract

This study examines legal uncertainty concerning the protection of workers’ rights upon reaching retirement age within Indonesia’s labor law regime. The research is motivated by inconsistencies in regulatory norms, ambiguities in legal provisions, and disparities in judicial interpretations regarding retirement entitlements. Employing a normative–empirical methodology, the study analyzes statutory regulations, court decisions, and empirical data obtained from interviews with stakeholders, including labor authorities, employers, and workers. The findings reveal that legal uncertainty primarily stems from incomplete regulatory formulations in Government Regulation No. 35 of 2021, particularly regarding procedures for retirement-related termination, calculation mechanisms for retirement benefits, and the legal status of pension fund contributions. Moreover, the regulation disproportionately positions employers as the dominant party in retirement decisions, thereby generating procedural injustice and weakening workers’ bargaining power. Judicial practices further demonstrate interpretative variations that contribute to inconsistent legal outcomes. The study argues that legal reconstruction is necessary to ensure certainty, fairness, and balance in retirement-related employment termination. It proposes strengthening normative clarity, recognizing workers’ rights to initiate retirement, and enhancing tripartite synergy among government, employers, and labor unions. The research contributes to the discourse on labor protection by advancing a justice-oriented framework aligned with the principles of the Pancasila Welfare State.

Abstract

Coffee is often consumed by students to enhance concentration and stamina; however, its caffeine content is known to affect sleep quality. This study aims to examine the relationship between coffee consumption and sleep quality among medical students of Universitas Kristen Krida Wacana (FK UKRIDA), class of 2021. This research is an analytical observational study with a cross-sectional approach involving 130 students as respondents. Data were collected using a coffee consumption questionnaire and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), and analyzed using the chi-square test. The results showed that 68.5% of respondents experienced poor sleep quality, and there was a significant relationship between both the amount (p = 0.000) and duration (p = 0.001) of coffee consumption and sleep quality. It was found that consuming more than two cups per day and drinking coffee for more than two months were correlated with decreased sleep quality. In conclusion, excessive and prolonged coffee consumption significantly affects the decline in sleep quality among students, indicating the need for better education on mindful coffee intake.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of digital health technologies has fundamentally reshaped hospital service delivery; however, limited conceptual studies have examined how digitalization transforms the core characteristics of services. This study aims to analyze how digital transformation alters the fundamental service dimensions of hospitals intangibility, heterogeneity, inseparability, and perishability and to identify their managerial implications. A systematic and thematic literature review was conducted using peer-reviewed articles indexed in Scopus, PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar published between 2015 and 2024. From the initial search results, relevant studies were screened based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, and the selected articles were synthesized thematically. The findings indicate that digital technologies such as electronic medical records, telemedicine, hospital information systems, and artificial intelligence enhance service transparency and traceability, reduce variability through process standardization, enable remote interaction beyond physical boundaries, and improve capacity management through real-time monitoring. These transformations require strategic alignment, digital competency development, and strengthened information governance to ensure service quality and data security. This study contributes conceptually by integrating service marketing theory with digital health transformation and provides practical insights for hospital managers in designing adaptive and patient-centered service strategies.
