Abstract

Abstract Tests or questions that use ACTFL standards at level Novice is one way to find out Arabic language learning standards and students' ability standards, especially writing skills tests. ACTFL standardization at the Novice level consists of 3 levels, namely Novice High (high beginner level), Novice Mid (intermediate beginner level), and Novice Low (low beginner level). The research uses a qualitative method through a literature study by studying the Skills Guide book American Council On The Teaching Of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) and other literature such as articles and books. Based on the results of the analysis carried out in this research, there are 20 tests or questions according to ACTFL standardization at the level Novice that is 20% of the questions of difficulty level or Novice High (4 questions), 50% of the questions are medium level or Novice Mid (10 questions), and 30% easy level questions or Novice Low (6 questions). Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) Mengetahui nilai kelas eksperimen sebelum dan sesudah penerapan strategi The Learning Cell. (2) Mencari hasil tes kelas kontrol sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran konvensional. (3) Mengkaji efektivitas strategi ini terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas III KMI di Pondok Pesantren Darussalam Gontor Putri Kampus 1. Metode – Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen kuantitatif dengan menggunakan desain Quation Experiment yaitu Non-equivalent Control Group Design yang berbentuk Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Melaksanakan tes awal dan akhir di kedua kelas. Uji u-test (Mann Whitney) digunakan untuk mengetahui keefektifan strategi The Learning Cell terhadap hasil belajar siswi. Temuan – (1) Nilai kelas eksperimen sebelum menggunakan strategi The Learning Cell mempunyai nilai rata-rata sebesar 3,46, dan 8,86 setelah menggunakan strategi The Learning Cell. (2) Nilai kelas kontrol sebelum menerapkan pembelajaran konvensional adalah 3,33, dan setelah menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional adalah 6,16. (3) Penggunaan strategi The Learning Cell terhadap hasil belajar Sejarah Islam pada siswi kelas III KMI dinyatakan efektif dengan hasil Sig. (2-tailed) dari Uji Mann Withney 0,000 < 0,05. Implikasi– Hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi panduan bagi guru yang ingin menerapkan strategi pengajaran yang dapat melibatkan kemampuan kooperatif siswa untuk menghasilkan hasil belajar yang lebih baik. Hasil – Hasil penelitian ini memberikan saran bagi para pendidik tentang bagaimana menciptakan strategi pembelajaran yang efektif, khususnya pada mata pelajaran sejarah Islam

Abstract

The process of assessing learning outcomes is an important component that is inseparable in the world of education, the quality of the measuring instrument guarantees the validity of an assessment result, if the assessment instrument is valid and reliable it will also produce an effective assessment. The aims of this study is to understand how to develop practical assessment rubric techniques. This study used library research with data collection techniques in the form of books, magazines, and documents related to the content analysis approach. The results of this study is the practical assessment rubric is structured based on the sequence of rubric components, including determining Task Descriptions, Assessment Scales, Assessment Dimensions (Indicators), and Dimension Descriptions (Criteria) as a reference for assessment. Simply incorporating these four aspects in developing the practical assessment rubric is not enough. To meet the standards of objective assessment, the rubric needs to be tested.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the use of ACTFL standards in Arabic language listening comprehension tests at the Novice level. The ACTFL standards for the Novice level are divided into three sub-levels: Novice High, Novice Mid, and Novice Low. This research employs a qualitative approach through literature review, analyzing the "Skills Guide" by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) and other relevant literature such as articles and books. The analysis reveals that a well-structured Arabic listening comprehension test for Novice learners consists of 5 questions based on ACTFL standards: 20% of the questions are at the Novice High level (3 questions), 50% are at the Novice Mid level (4 questions), and 30% are at the Novice Low level (3 questions). The findings highlight the importance of aligning language proficiency assessments with ACTFL standards to ensure effective learning outcomes at the beginner level. The implications of this research suggest that such tests can better gauge the listening comprehension skills of novice learners, thus improving the quality of language instruction.

Abstract

The low Arabic language skills of students at MTs Al-Khairiyah Kelapian Banten are partly influenced by the use of questions that tend to measure Low Order Thinking Skills (LOTS). This research aims to determine the effect of using questions based on High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) on the Arabic language learning outcomes of class VIII students at MTs Al-Khairiyah Kelapian Banten for the 2022 – 2023 academic year. This research uses a quantitative experimental method with a True Experimental Design research design with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design approach. The research sample consisted of 30 students who were divided into two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. Research data was taken using tests. Data analysis uses the difference test. The results of the research show that there is an influence of HOTS-based questions on students' Arabic learning outcomes.

Abstract

Tujuan utama dari belajar adalah adanya perubahan tingkah laku yang ditandai dengan diperolehnya kemampuan, pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan baru. Perubahan tersebut diartikan sebagai hasil belajar. Hasil belajar seringkali digunakan sebagaiukuran untuk mengetahui seberapa jauh seseorang menguasai bahan yang sudah diajarkan. Tes praktik atau tes kinerja adalah teknik penilaian yang menuntut peserta didik mendemonstrasikan kemahirannya atas materi yang sudah dipelajari. Rubrik adalah panduan yang digunakan sebagai pedoman penilaian kinerja siswa atau untuk mengevaluasi praktik siswa dalam tugas yang tidak dapat dinilai menggunakan mesin. Rubrik berisi kriteria yang digunakan untuk mengevaluasi kinerja siswa. Kriteria dalam rubrik berfungsi sebagai panduan kinerja yang akan disesuaian dengan bentuk penilaian yang dilakukan oleh guru. Rubrik analitik menuntut kejelian dan kecermatan dalam penyusunannya karena penilaian dilakukan terhadap proses kinerja siswa dilakukan secara terpisah dan kemudian menggabungkan hasil akhir dari setiap komponen. Rubrik ini memberikan umpan balik yang spesifik kepada siswa sehingga mampu mengembangkan dan meningkatkan kemampuan mereka.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to develop a arabic grammar test model based on the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) theory. ACTFL theory emphasises the importance of communicative skills in language learning, including grammar as a fundamental component in language ability. In this study, Arabic grammar test was designed to measure grammar competence in the context of authentic and communicative language use. The research method involved library research. The results show that the developed test model is in accordance with ACTFL standards, effective in evaluating Arabic grammar competence, and can be used as a valid and reliable measurement tool in Arabic language learning. This test model is expected to help educators in assessing students' grammar skills more comprehensively and accurately, as well as supporting the improvement of the quality of Arabic language learning at various levels of education.

Abstract

One of the visions of the University of Darussalam Gontor is to become a center for the language of the Qur'an. An online Arabic language test is conducted to measure its students' Arabic proficiency. This study aims to analyze the difficulty level of the online Arabic language test at the University of Darussalam Gontor based on Bloom's Cognitive Taxonomy. The research employs a descriptive quantitative method. The data was collected from students' test scores, which cover three language skills: reading (qira'ah), listening (istima'), and writing (kitabah). The sample was randomly selected, comprising 135 students for the writing test, 127 for the listening test, and 129 for the reading test. The results indicate that the difficulty level of the questions based on students' test results for the reading skill shows that 10% of the questions were classified as difficult, 42% as middle, and 48% as easy. For the listening skill, 17% of the questions were classified as difficult, 44% as middle, and 39% as easy. There were no difficult questions in the writing skill, with 83% being middle and 17% easy. Regarding the cognitive domains of Bloom's taxonomy, 21% of the questions in reading test (qiraah) were categorized as HOTS, 52% as MOTS, and 17% as LOTS. For the listening test (istima), 11% of the questions were classified as HOTS, 67% as MOTS, and 11% as LOTS, while for the writing test, 10% were categorized as HOTS, 55% as MOTS, and 25% as LOTS.

Abstract

Arabic Camp is a short Arabic language course program held by the Center for Education and Training (pusdiklat), University of Darussalam Gontor. This program was carried out to enhance students' speaking skills. However, the program seemed to face obstacles when dealing with students’ spelling skills (imla'). Most students can speak good Arabic but struggle to write basic Arabic words according to its rules. Early studies suggested that the Center has yet to have well-established teaching material for Imla’. Hence, this article aimed to design and find its effectiveness in improving students' spelling skills. Research & Development (R&D) methodology and used five instruments were used to collect data such as observation, interviews, questionnaires, tests, and documents. In analyzing data, Paired Sample t-Test is used. The procedures started with the literature review, planning, designing, validating, and experiment. The results of this research were the teaching materials in the form of a textbook. This study also suggested that the textbook validity is in good grade with a percentage score of 84.65%, meaning that the designed materials can be used with some modification and correction. As for its effectiveness, the Sig. (2-tailed) result is (0,000) < (less than) (0,005). It means that the textbook effectively improves students' spelling skills. In conclusion, the current study underscores a collective push towards innovative teaching materials in enhancing language education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas strategi pembelajaran Example Non Example dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dalam mata pelajaran fiqih kelas 1 Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Puti Kampus 1. Penelitian menggunakan jenis penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan model hoppkins, dilakukan dalam tiga siklus dan setiap siklus terdapat empat tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas 1. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan tes, observasi, dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi pembelajaran example non example dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar fiqih siswa dengan tingkat ketuntasan belajar pada siklus sebesar 62%,  pada siklus II 79,3% dan pada siklus III sebesar presentase 96,5%. Begitu juga keaktifan belajar siswa di kelas meningkat di mana pada siklus I keaktifan siswa sebesar 81,24%, meningkat menjadi 83,33% pada siklus II dan pada siklus III keaktifan belajar siswa mencapai 88,54%.
