Abstract

Kepercayaan diri atau self-confidence merupakan suatu keyakinan dalam jiwa manusia bahwa tantangan hidup apapun harus dihadapi dengan berbuat sesuatu. Sedangkan Kemampuan komunikasi matematis adalah kemampuan siswa dalam menyampaikan ide matematika baik secara lisan maupun tulisan. Sikap percaya diri dan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa sangatlah perlu diperhatikan dan dikembangkan karena memiliki peranan penting bagi siswa dalam menjalankan proses pembelajaran ataupun dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana hubungan kepercayaan diri dan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa terhadap hasil belajar matematika. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian korelasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX Mts. Al-Aziziyah Putri, dengan sampel penelitian sejumlah 36 siswa dengan pengambilan sampel secara cluster random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah angket kepercayaan diri dan tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai signifikan X1 dan X2 terhadap Y sebesar 0,032<0,05 dengan nilai pearson correlation 0,435. Nilai signifikan X1 terhadap Y sebesar 0,016<0,05 dengan  nilai pearson correlation 0,398. Dan nilai signifikan X2 terhadap Y sebesar 0,049<0,05 dengan nilai pearson correlation 0,331. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif secara bersama-sama antara kepercayaan diri dan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa terhadap hasil belajar matematika, terdapat hubungan positif kepercayaan diri dengan hasil belajar matematika, dan terdapat hubungan positif kemampuan komunikasai matematis dengan hasil belajar matematika siswa.

Abstract

Matematika adalah ilmu universal yang memiliki peran penting dalam berbagai bidang ilmu. Untuk memperoleh hasil pembelajaran matematika yang optimal diperlukan peranan guru, penerapan model pembelajaran serta bantuan belajar yang sesuai dengan karakteristik siswa dan materi yang diajarkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan pengaruh pemberian scaffolding dalam penyelesaian masalah materi jarak dalam ruang terhadap motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa kelas XII SMAN 1 Pringgabaya tahun pelajaran 2022/2023. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif metode eksperimen dengan desain true experimental. Sampel terdiri dari dua kelas yaitu XII IPA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang diberi perlakuan berupa scaffolding dan kelas XII IPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol yang diberikan latihan soal dan diskusi. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP), angket motivasi belajar dan soal tes. Teknik analisis data berupa uji validitas, uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis. Adapun hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa, (1) Terdapat perbedaan rata-rata motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol. (2) Rata-rata motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen lebih besar, yaitu 45,94 berada pada kategori sedang dan 80,71 yang berada pada kategori cukup.  Adapun rata-rata motivasi dan hasil belajar yang diperoleh kelas kontrol  yaitu 43,11 berada pada kategori sedang dan 73,60 pada kategori cukup. Besar pengaruh yang timbul akibat adanya pemberian scaffolding terhadap motivasi belajar siswa adalah sedang (medium) dengan nilai keberartian 0,57 atau sebesar 33%. Sedangkan besar pengaruh yang timbul akibat adanya pemberian  scaffolding terhadap hasil belajar siswa adalah sedang (medium) dengan nilai keberartian 0,73 atau sebesar 43%.

Abstract

Kemampuan mengkomunikasikan gagasan matematika secara tepat dan efektif merupakan salah satu tujuan dari pembelajaran matematika. Selain itu, hasil belajar siswa dalam mata pelajaran matematik salah satunya dipengaruhi oleh kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Dimana kemampuan komunikasi matematis dapat mempermudah pertukaran informasi atau penyampaian gagasan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Sehingga terlihat pentingnya siswa menguasai kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Namun, siswa SMPN 4 Gerung terlihat memiliki kemampuan komunikasi matematis rendah terlihat dari hasil belajar pada mata pelajaran matematika yang tergolong kurang terutama dalam mengerjakan soal berbentuk narasi dengan permasalahan sehari-hari. Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan setiap tingkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa kelas VIII SMPN 4 Gerung tahun ajaran 2022/2023 dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita materi Relasi dan Fungsi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Dimana instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes tulis berupa dua butir soal uraian berbentuk soal cerita dengan materi Relasi dan Fungsi yang dapat digunakan untuk mengetahui kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa berdasarkan indikator kemampuan komunikasi matematis yaitu,  menggambar, menulis, dan menggunakan simbol matematika dan juga instrumen berupa pedoman wawancara. Data hasil tes tulis akan diperjelas dengan wawancara semi terstruktur dan dilakukan analisis data penskoran dan pemberian kategori berdasarkan pedoman penskoran. Kemudian data yang didapat akan dianalisis berdasarkan Miles dan Huberman. Berdasarkan hasil analisis yang dilakukan didapat siswa berkemampuan komunikasi matematis dengan kategori rendah memiliki persentase terbanyak dan disusul berkategori sedang dan tinggi. Dimana dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa dengan kemampuan komunikasi matematis tinggi sebanyak 29,63% dan mampu menguasai ketiga indikator dengan kategori tinggi. Siswa dengan kemampuan komunikasi matematis sedang sebanyak 33,33% dan mampu menguasai ketiga indikator namun tidak sempurna dengan kategori sedang. Dan siswa dengan kemampuan komunikasi matematis rendah sebanyak 37,04% dan kurang bahkan tidak mampu menguasai ketiga indikator dengan dua kategori rendah dan indikator menggambar berkategori sedang.

Abstract

This research was a development research which was aimed to producing a new product in the form of digital mathematical comic. Digital mathematical comic developed through four stages according to the 4D model procedure which are define, design, develop, and disseminate. The instrument in this study was a questionnaire used to assess the feasibility of comics and student responses. The feasibility of comics was assessed by 2 lecturers as media experts and 2 teachers as material experts. The media expert’s give an average score of 70.50 out of a total average of 80.00 with very feasible category and the material expert’s give an average score of 48.00 out of a total average of 52.00 with very feasible category. Subsequently, a trial was conducted on 26 seventh grade students at SMPN 8 Mataram. According to the student response questionnaire an average score of 14.27 was obtained from a total average of 15.00 with very feasible category. So it can be concluded that digital mathematical comics are declared very feasible for use in math learning in the classroom.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the level of critical thinking skills in Year 7 students of SMPN 1 Narmada related to the subject of Algebra. This study was quantitative descriptive. The instruments of this study implemented the indicators based on Perkins and Murphy’s levels of critical thinking skills, which are (1) clarification, (2) assessment, (3) strategy, and (4) inference. There were 352 students in this study population with 64 students as the samples were obtained with a simple random sampling technique. Written test and interview was applied as the data collection technique with descriptive statistics as the data analysis technique. The results showed that 4,69% of the students grouped as having a high level of critical thinking skills had already had the ability to answer all questions completing all stages of critical thinking skills. While 4,69% of the students categorized as having the middle level had answered the questions using their level of critical thinking skill except for numbers 3 and 4 leaving some incompleted stages of critical thinking skill. Significantly, 90,62% of the students categorized as low level were not able to answer the questions with the stages of critical thinking skills. This concluded that the level of critical thinking skills on the subject of Algebra in Year 7 students of SMPN 1 Narmada is low categorized.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the critical thinking skills of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Narmada in solving story problems based on a two-variable system of linear equations. This type of research is called descriptive qualitative. The instrument used in this study uses the stages of Perkins and Murphy's critical thinking skills, namely (1) clarification, (2) assessment, (3) inference, and (4) strategy. The subjects in this study were from class VIII.8, which consisted of 36 students, then given essay tests and interviews. The test results data were analyzed to determine the categories of students' critical thinking abilities in the high, medium, and low categories. Then interviews were conducted to examine the test results that had been obtained by students in the high, medium, and low categories. The results of this study indicate that 14% of students with high critical thinking skills have not been able to complete the strategy stage. Fifthly percent of students with moderate critical thinking skills have not been able to complete the inference and strategy stages. Thirty-six percent of students with low critical thinking skills have not been able to complete all stages. This shows that students' critical thinking skills in solving story problems on the material of a two-variable linear equation system are in the medium category.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation of mathematics learning online and describe the strategies used by teachers in mathematics learning during the Covid-19 pandemic at SMPN 11 Mataram. This type of research is qualitative research. All students and teachers of mathematics learning at SMPN 11 Mataram are population, where the sample number of 3 mathematics teachers and 76 students are selected by random sampling cluster rules. Data collection uses questionnaires to obtain data on the implementation of mathematics learning online while the interview profit is to explore more in-depth information about teacher strategies in online mathematics learning. From this study, the results were obtained that: (1) The implementation of online mathematics learning in general at SMPN 11 Mataram is in the category quite well. Mathematics learning carried out online is at their respective homes, students use whatsapp, google meet and google forms. (2) Assessment of learning processes and outcomes, evaluation and supervision of the learning process is in the category of good enough where the teacher provides written test analysis and corrects and returns student assignments. Supervision of the online learning process is carried out by teachers by controlling students from the beginning of the lesson to the end of the lesson while parents provide supervision at home by reminding their children to complete assignments from school.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the quality of the analysis of Class VII mathematics problems of MTs Khairul Fatihin NW Ijobalit academic year 2020/2021 HOTS type viewed from the aspects of validity, reliability, difficulty level, differentiator and finisher. The type of research used is quantitative descriptip. Subjects in this study were students of Class VII MTs Pondok Pesantren Khairul Fatihin NW Ijobalit which amounted to 37 people. The object of the study was hots type math problems and the answers of grade VII students of the even Semester of the 2020/2021 school year, which consisted of 35 objective questions. Data collection techniques are carried out by interview and documentation methods. The results showed that: there are 4 questions category HOTS where all the questions cognitive level is C4 in terms of validity, item hots problem classified as a valid problem; in terms of reliability, hots problem classified as a matter of moderate reliability with an index of 0.469; in terms of differentiating power, the item about HOTS is in the category enough with a percentage of 75%; in terms of difficulty level, the item about hots classified as having a moderate difficulty level; in terms of the effectiveness of the Spieler, hots problem has a very good Spieler effectiveness because the Spieler is selected with a percentage of more than 5%.

Abstract

Success in learning mathematics can be seen from understanding students' initial mathematical concepts, but a low average score is an indication of difficulties in understanding mathematical concepts related to algebraic operations. This study aims to determine the effect of cooperative learning models Think Pair Share (TPS) type assisted by student worksheets (LKPD) on students' understanding of algebraic operations. The research design used was Pre-Experimental Design (Non Design) in the form of One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in this study was all class VII, while the selected sample was class VIIA as the control class and class VIIB as the experimental class. Data on the ability to understand different concepts were taken using a pretest-posttest instrument in the form of essay questions. Before further analyzing the results of the pretest-posttest, the two classes were first tested for normality and homogeneity. The results of the hypothesis test show that = 0.441 < = 1.96 which means Ho is accepted, so that there is a difference between understanding the operation of algebraic forms in the experimental and control classes or in other words there is no effect of the TPS type cooperative learning model assisted by LKPD on understanding the operation of the form. algebra to students. Abstract

This study aims to determine the mathematical representation ability of class IX students with visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles on the Pythagoras Theorem material at SMPN 1 (public junior high school) Gunungsari Indonesia in the 2021/2022 academic year. This type of research is descriptive with a quantitative approach. The populations in this study were all students of class IX SMPN 1 Gunungsari. The research sampling technique used purposive sampling, and the sample was class IX-H. The instruments used are learning style questionnaires, mathematical representation ability tests, and interview guidelines. The results of this study indicate that the mathematical representation ability of students with visual learning styles is 35.56% in the low category, or students have yet to be able to meet the overall visual, symbolic, and verbal representation indicators. Furthermore, the mathematical representation ability of students with auditory and kinesthetic learning styles is 49.86% and 41.87% in the medium category. Respectively, students have been able to meet the indicators of visual and symbolic representation quite well but have yet to be able to fulfill the visual and symbolic representation and verbal representation indicators.
