Abstract

This research attempts to test the feasibility of 4C-based manual transmission repair competency learning devices and determine the improvement of student learning outcomes with the developed learning devices. This kind of study employs a Research and Development strategy. This development research is designed by following the 4D development steps. The results of the development research showed a learning device product for manual transmission repair competency with a score of 96.75%. Based on the results of the analysis, it is known that there is a significant increase in student learning outcomes in the aspects of knowledge, skills, and attitudes of practice through 4C. These findings support the notion that learning tools developed are very feasible to use and student learning outcomes have increased using these devices.

Abstract

This research was aimed to design a booklet of local folktales to support junior high school ninth grade students English extensive reading activities as well as to help them to reach their reading objectives in classroom with the related reading topic. This research was a subject of an English teacher. The method used for this research was development research that used the first three phases of the ADDIE instructional model, namely the analysis, design, and development phases. We conducted the first interview, followed by documentation and observation to gather the data and used experts"™ recommendations and descriptive analysis to analyze the data. In the analysis phase, as the preliminary process of the research, we collected the data through interviews, documentation, and observation. In the design phase, we began to design a draft of the product. In the development phase, we started to develop a draft of the local folktales booklet followed by an internal evaluation. According to the findings of the research, it was indicated that the local folktales booklet was appropriate and able to support the students"™ English extensive reading activities as well as to be their supplementary reading material product to be used in the classroom.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of P5 activities at SMK Negeri 1 Kramatwatu. The research method used is observation with a qualitative approach. With data obtained through observation of P5 activities and journals or scientific articles and documents or files related to the implementation of P5 activities in schools. While the data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative to describe and explain the overall data that will be concluded at the end of the study. This study concluded the implementation of P5 activities in schools with drama performances aimed at educating students about bullying and preventing bullying from occurring in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of selected songs on Spotify to continuous tense mastery through a deductive approach. Conducted as a quantitative research employing a pre-experimental design with one group pre-test post-test, it focused on ninth-grade students of SMP Negeri 25 Pontianak Utara in the Academic Year 2023/2024. Data collection involved a multiple-choice test comprising 12 questions, validated and deemed reliable through reliability and validity tests. Results indicated a significant enhancement in students' scores, with a pre-test mean score of 61.79 and a post-test mean score of 91.38. The t-test value of 8.508, surpassing the critical t-table value of 1.701, affirmed the alternative hypothesis. Moreover, the effect size of 1.58 signified strong effectiveness. Consequently, the study concluded that selected Spotify songs effectively facilitate continuous tense mastery through deductive methods. This research highlights opportunities for further exploration, suggesting investigation in diverse educational settings or with different student demographics to validate the efficacy of using selected songs for mastering other grammatical tenses.

Abstract

In a job there must be something called work accidents, these work accidents can be caused by humans and the environment, where this is due to unsafe behavior and unsafe conditions. Occupational Health and Safety (K3) is something that is very important and must be given great attention in companies/industry in the current era. From the research conducted, it aims to carry out an analysis of the potential hazards and how to control the Conveyor Belt Machine. This research was conducted using a descriptive method, which was to obtain data through literature studies and documentation. The data were combined from industry, journals and the internet. Belt Conveyor is one of the equipment in the cement company PT. Cemindo Gemilang Tbk. Belt Conveyor as a machine for moving and transferring material along a horizontal direction or with a continuous slope. In general, the potential for danger at PT. Cemindo Gemilang Tbk. has been identified and handled well. To improve health and safety at work, various identified potential hazards can become knowledge for implementing work more thoroughly and carefully.Keywords: control, conveyor belt, K3, potential hazard.Dalam sebuah pekerjaan pasti ada yang namanya kecelakaan kerja, dari kecelakaan kerja ini bisa disebabkan oleh manusia dan lingkungan, dimana hal ini karena perilaku tidak aman dan kondisi tidak aman. Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) adalah sesuatu yang sangat penting dan harus sangat diperhatikan di dalam perusahaan/industri di era saat ini. Dari penelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk melakukan analisis pada potensi bahaya dan cara pengendalian terhadap Mesin Belt Conveyor. Penelitian yang dilakukan ini adalah menggunakan metode deskriptif, yang mana untuk mendapatkan data melalui studi pustaka, studi literatur, informasi-informasi atau data dari industri, jurnal maupun internet. Belt Conveyor merupakan salah satu equipment yang berada di perusahaan semen PT. Cemindo Gemilang Tbk. Belt Conveyor sebagai mesin untuk memindahkan dan mentransfer material dengan sepanjang arah yang horizontal atau dengan kemiringan secara continue (terus menerus).Kata kunci: potensi bahaya, pengendalian, k3, belt conveyor.

Abstract

English lessons in public elementary schools in Indonesia have been abolished. Students have problems in making sentences, interpreting and placing some things related to English. In this research researcher used research and development. Researcher used the ADDIE model. This study covered three stages, Analyzing, Designing, and Developing. Researcher chose ten junior high school students and also ten parents from the same students. Researcher used questionnaires, interview sheets, and expert validation sheets as data collection instruments. They argued that grammar was very important in learning English because grammar was the main foundation that will later support English language skills. Based on the result of validity, it showed that the score was categorized 90%, which means that it was good module. Therefore, the product declared no need to be revised (without revision). Module did not need to be revised according to expert and have the potential to increase students'' interest in learning grammar. The students should spend at least an hour studying the module, adjusting to their individual learning styles. Parents should facilitate children in learning so learning can be effective, help students if they find it difficult to understand the material.

Abstract

Students’ engagement is crucial for the success of listening activities, especially at the junior high school level. This study aimed to enhance students’ engagement in English listening activities using EDpuzzle, focusing on eighth-grade A students at SMP Islam Al-Azhar 17 Pontianak. Conducted over two cycles with 20 participants, the study addressed issues like distractions, disengagement, difficulty understanding audio, and feelings of frustration. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design, involving two cycles of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Instruments used included observation checklists, tests, and field notes. Qualitative analysis showed a marked increase in engagement during the second cycle, after introducing EDpuzzle Station Challenge activities. EDpuzzle’s interactive features—visually engaging content, embedded questions, and the option to rewatch videos—made the listening experience more accessible and enjoyable. This boosted cognitive, behavioral, and emotional engagement, leading to better attendance, active participation, and fewer disruptions. Descriptive statistics revealed notable improvements, with 86.67% of students showing higher emotional engagement, 78.33% displaying increased cognitive engagement, and 86.67% showing improved behavioral engagement. Additionally, 85% of students scored above the success threshold in listening comprehension tests, particularly in identifying degrees of comparison and summarizing video content. In conclusion, EDpuzzle enhanced students’ engagement by creating a more interactive and enjoyable learning environment.

Abstract

This research aims to describe how the use of digital storytelling impact the tenth-grade (X.A) students at SMA Santo Fransiskus Asisi Pontianak in learning listening comprehension. The animation stories of digital form were served to bring the engagement among students in listening activities. The listening activity was done with the assistance of audio visual media by manipulating the original story to the new version. Then, the story board was rearranged to associate the students’ listening comprehension to the changing plot of the story being played. The research used classroom action research conducted in two cycles. Every cycle consisted of four steps such as planning, action, evaluation, and reflection. The data in every learning cycle were presented quantitatively based on the indicator and described in qualitative descriptions. The weakness in one cycle was revised, and did the following cycle with the same steps but with the revised lesson plan. Research instruments were constructed in the form of assessment rubric, field note, and observation instrument to the lesson plan and teaching process. The findings revealed that the students showed their positive changes from one cycle to the next cycle in terms of engagement and listening comprehension. As a result, the use of digital storytelling to teach listening improves the students’ engagement and impacts positively to the achievement on listening comprehension through the medium of animation of fractured story.

Abstract

This study was aimed to develop learning material for teaching writing recount text using STAD technique to the tenth-grade Students. The researcher developed the learning material because there were conditions in the class which do not support the situation in the learning process, The Learning process in writing skill, some students passive in the class so make the students not motivated and the learning process is not going well, and also the material used in the school is not complete enough. The procedure was based on ADDIE but because of the situation in this era (COVID-19), the research was conducted ADD ( Analyze, Design, and Develop). It was conducted through the following analyzing the needs, designing the framework, and Developing the material. The learning material for teaching writing recount text using STAD technique had been validated by the expert: the learning material is appropriate with some revisions. The researcher suggested that further development of learning material for teaching recount text using STAD, for the next developers who conduct the same product to make it more complete (ADDIE) until the Implementation and Evaluation section in the class to make the learning material better

Abstract

Corrective Feedback has been the center of attention among language researchers and education experts. The purpose of this study is to find out the types of Corrective Feedback that the lecturer used to correcting the students writing errors. This study was designed in qualitative form. In this study, the participants were two English lecturers and the third-year semester students. These participants were interviewed about their preference of corrective feedback and how they applied corrective feedback in the teaching of writing in their class. In order to obtain the data, the researcher used interview and document analysis. To enrich the findings in this study, the researcher collected the answer sheets from 26 students in two interval periods. The results of the study revealed that grammar was the most corrected elements in writing, with the percentage of 49.25%, followed by vocabulary by 22.39% and organization and mechanic by 19.40% and 8.96%. These figures were consistent with the interview results where the lecturers stated that grammar is their focus for corrective feedback. This study also revealed that corrective feedback is something that the students expected from their lecturers.
