Abstract

Salah satu sub bab pada mata kuliah gizi dan kesehatan pada Jurusan Biologi UNNES adalah antioksidan. Pembelajaran antioksidan dalam pelaksanaanya belum disertai bahan ajar berdasarkan kehidupan nyata. Bahan ajar berbasis riset merupakan bahan ajar yang disusun berdasarkan hasil penelitian dalam kehidupan nyata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pola konsumsi masyarakat pesisir Indramayu, mengetahui sumber makanan antioksidan yang dikonsumsi, menganalisis kevalidan bahan ajar berbasis pola konsumsi, dan mengetahui kefektifan bahan ajar yang dikembangkan berdasarkan hasil belajar mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola konsumsi makanan pokok yaitu beras, pola konsumsi hewani cukup tinggi teruatama hasil laut dan tambak ikan, pola konsumsi buah-buahan masih rendah dengan frekuensi 0 dalam sehari sebanyak 75%, dan pola konsumsi sayuran cukup baik dengan frekuensi >3 kali dalam sehari sebanyak 43%; sumber makanan mengandung antioksidan yang dikonsumsi masyarakat pesisir Indramayu yaitu buah dukuh sebanyak 240 buah dalam sehari dengan kandungan antioksidan berupa vitamin A sebesar 13,0 IU/100g (USDA), dan terung sebanyak 20 buah dalam sehari dengan kandungan antioksidan berupa vitamin C sebesar 2,2 mg/100g, vitamin B sebesar 0,41 mgl100g, dan vitamin A sebesar 23 IU/100g; bahan ajar yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid dengan rerata skor 3,9; dan bahan ajar dikatakan efektif berdasarkan perhitungan N-gain dengan kategori sedang.   One of sub chapters on nutrition and health courses in Biology Department of UNNES is antioxidant. However, in learning process, the material about antioxidant is not accompanied by a real-life teaching materials. Research-based instructional material is teaching materials that created based on the results of research in real life. This research was aimed to examine the consumption patterns of Indramayu coastal society, know the antioxidant food sources that are consumed, analyze the validity of teaching materials based on consumption patterns, and determine the effectiveness of developed teaching materials based on student results. The results showed that consumption pattern of staple foods such as rice, consumption pattern of animal is high enough especially seafood and fish from ponds, the consumption pattern of fruits is low with a frequency of 0 in the day as much as 75%, and the consumptionpattern of vegetables is quite good with a frequency of > 3 times in a day as much as 43%; source foods containing antioxidants consumed by Indramayu coastal society is dukuh fruit as much as 240 pieces in a day with the content of antioxidants such as vitamin A at 13.0 IU / 100g (USDA), and eggplant as many as 20 pieces in a day with the content of antioxidants such as vitamin C by 2, 2 mg / 100g, 0,41 mgl100g vitamin B, and vitamin A by 23 IU / 100g; then, developed teaching material is stated valid with a mean score of 3.9; and effective as a teaching material based on the calculation of the N-gain in the medium category.

Abstract

Pembelajaran IPA tingkat SMP, menurut Kurikulum 2006 maupun Kurikulum 2013 harus diajarkan secara terpadu. Wawancara awal menunjukkan guru IPA SMP di Wonosobo belum mengajar secara terpadu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi factor pendukung dan penghambat dari guru dalam mengimplementasikan pembelajaran IPA terpadu tingkat SMP di Kabupaten Wonosobo. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan gambaran nyata pelaksanaan pembelajaran IPA terpadu. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Sumber data berasal dari enam sekolahan yang terbagi dalam tiga kelompok sekolah. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis data model Miles and Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa factor pendukung dari guru dalam implentasi pembelajaran IPA terpadu yaitu semua guru aktif meningkatkan kompetensi, guru di kelompok I terbiasa melakukan pembelajaran aktif, dan guru di kelompok II dan III mampu mensiasati keterbatasan sarana prasarana. Faktor penghambat dari guru yaitu semua guru memiliki kualifikasi pendidikan yang bukan IPA terpadu, pemahaman guru terhadap pendekatan terpadu masih rendah, dan guru kesulitan mengelola waktu. The science learning of Junior High School level, according to Curriculum 2006 and Curriculum 2013 should be taught in an integrated manner. Initial interviews showed that the science teacher of Junior High School in Wonosobo had not taught in an integrated. This study aims to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors of teachers in implementing integrated science learning in junior high school in Wonosobo regency. This research is expected to provide a real condition of the implementation of integrated science learning. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Techniques of data collection using interviews, observation, and documentation. The data source comes from six schools that are divided into three school groups. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman model data analysis. The result of the research indicates that the supporting factor of the teachers in the implementation of integrated science learning is that all teachers actively improve the competence, the teachers in group I are accustomed to active learning, and the teachers in groups II and III are able to anticipate the limitations of infrastructure. The teacher's inhibiting factor is that all teachers have non-integrated educational qualifications, the teacher's understanding of the integrated approach is still low, and the teacher’s has difficulty managing the time.

Abstract

Booklet research-based is a teaching material which contains an important information followed by the condition of pictures around students’ environment as like teaching material which is expected by curriculum 2013. This study aims at identifying insect diversity on solanaceae plants in Wirapanjunan-Kandanghaur as a supplement of biology teaching material in high school and analyzing the worthiness of booklet itself. The method of this research used a development which is adopted from ADDIE instructional model The data were taken from a field research about insect diversity on solanaceae plants and booklet worthiness data by the experts of media and content of material, effectiveness booklet viewed from the N-gain students, and the response teacher and students. The result of this study showed that the index of insect diversity on solanaceae plants based on the equality of Shanon-Wiener was obtained 0.30 which showed low level of insect diversity. It was concluded that booklet research-based in insect diversity on solanaceae plants was worthy as a supplement of biology teaching material in high school because it obtained 93.30% which including of very valid criteria given by the experts, students' cognitive learning outcomes were seen from the N-gain score of an average of 0.68 'medium' criteria and obtained the positive response from teacher and student with score of 86.79%  which including of very worthy. This research is useful for identifying insect diversity which was potentially as the resources of learning biology.

Abstract

Species richness of flowering plants in Bandungan area of Semarang is one of the potency that can be used as a biology learning resources. Those pontency can be developed as teaching material. This study aims to identify flowering plants in Bandungan area that are used as material for developing learning catalogs. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model. Catalog are validated by material experts and media experts before use. The catalog trial was conducted on 40 students of X IPA classes using the one group pretest-posttest design. The results show that the catalog is declared 'very valid' by material experts and media experts with an average percentage of 88.72%. Catalog stated to be effective in improving learning outcomes with an average N-gain of 0.55 ('medium' criteria). Catalog get positive responses from teacher and students in the 'very worthy’ category with an average percentage of 88.11%.

Abstract

MA Al Asror Semarang has a fern taxonomy garden that can be used for observing Plantae material, especially Pteridophyta, but doesn’t yet have a student’s worksheets that can direct the activity process. This study aims to develop student’s worksheets (LKS) based on a scientific approach and testing the validity, practicality and effectiveness. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model. Validity of student’s worksheets is obtained from media experts, practicality is measured by teacher and student responses and effectiveness is measured by student learning outcomes. The results show that the students’ worksheets was declared 'very valid' with an average score of 94.10%, 'very practical' by teachers and students responses with an average score of 82,66% and effective as a supplement for teaching materials because it can improve cognitive learning outcomes of students with N-gain of 0.58 (criteria 'medium') and optimize psychomotor learning outcomes of students with an average score of 86.34% (criteria 'very good' ). Based on the results of the study, scientific-based student’s worksheets by utilizing a fern taxonomy garden stated as worthy to be used as a supplement of teaching material for Plantae at the MA Al Asror Semarang.

Abstract

Ecosystem materials taught with contextual examples need to be arranged in a type of teaching material for students. One teaching material that can be used is a module. Modules can be used by students with or without teacher guidance. so that students more easily understand material that is close to their daily lives. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the module on learning outcomes and students' scientific literacy abilities. as well as the module development response for teachers and students. This study used a pre-experimental method with the design of one group pretest-posttest design. Based on the results of the ecosystem module research based on scientific literacy effectively increasing student learning outcomes seen from the value of n-gain 0.70 in class X MIA 1 and 0.73 in class X MIA 2 with each criterion high. Effective module on the value of scientific literacy of students with a value of 84.15 in class X MIA 1 and 84.79 in class X MIA 2. Teacher responses to ecosystem modules based on scientific literacy results of 91.30% development of highly feasible criteria and student responses to ecosystem modules science-based literacy results of 85.50% development criteria are very feasible.

Abstract

Science is a learning given at school. Learning strategy choices would influence to learning success. There is a need of creative and innovative strategy to improve learning activities and student conceptual understanding, such as by using KWL thinking strategy (Know-Want-Learn) assisted by video. This research aims to analyze learning activity and effectiveness of learning conceptual understanding at VII grade of a Public Junior High School in Nganjuk after being intervened by KWL thinking strategy assisted by video. This quasi experimental research design used pretest-posttest control group design with 64 students in which 32 of them grouped into control group while the remaining were grouped into experimental group. Technique of collecting data was simple random sampling. Experimental group student activity analysis results show 28 of them (87,50%) are categorized excellent and 4 of them (12,50%) sufficient. Meanwhile, the control group shows 11 of them (34,37%) categorized excellent and 21 of them (65,63%) categorized sufficient. Analysis of experimental and control group classical accomplishment met the effective criteria since it passed 75%. Classical accomplishment of completed experimental group's cognitive aspect reached 28 students (87,50%). Meanwhile, the control group reached 26 students (81,25%). The improvement of learning outcome was calculated by significance test or t-test. The result of control group’s t-test showed t-count 8,64 > t-table 2,03. The experimental group obtained t-count 11,12 > t-table 2,03. The improvement and accomplishment of experimental group was better than control group. Based on the results, it could be concluded that KWL thinking strategy assisted by video was effective to improve learning activity and VII graders’ conceptual understanding learning at a Public JHS in Nganjuk.

Abstract

Student science literacy is influenced by external and internal factors. One external factor is learning implementation, while internal factors are self efficacy and attitude towards science. This study aims to analyze the science literacy of students, the linkages of learning implementation, self efficacy, and attitudes toward science in a linear and simultaneous ways. This study uses explanatory research design at SMAN 1 Cepiring and SMAN 1 Kaliwungu. The subjects of this research are 125 students. Data collection techniques through observation, questionnaire, psychological scale, and tests. Data analysis used descriptive statistics, proportion test, one sample T test, correlation and regression. The results showed science literacy of students in the medium category, achieving a minimum average completeness and classical completeness of 75%. The linkages of the learning implementation with science literacy was 10,7%, self efficacy was 11,7% and attitudes toward science was 9,5%. The linkages of learning implementation, self efficacy, and attitudes toward science with science literacy simultaneous ways shows that there is a positive and significant relationship in the low category with a coefficient of determination of 18,7%. Result shows that collaboration between external and internal factors have shown a higher relationship in influencing students' science literacy.

Abstract

Teaching material supplement of News based bioconservation is compiled based on environmental news in the newspapaer in North Maluku. This study has purpose to identify the feasibility, readability and effectiveness of the news based bioconservation teaching material supplements. This study applied a Research and Development (R&D) approach. The subjects in this study were the fifth grade students of SD Inpres Aru Irian and SD BPD Falila, Morotai Island Regency. The data collection technique was carried out using expert validation questionnaires, student response questionnaires and cognitive tests. The data obtained by expert validation showed a score of 90.79%, indicated that the news based bioconservation teaching material supplement was very suitable to be used in the learning. The effectiveness of teaching material supplements was determined based on the classical completeness and N-gain values. The classical completeness of students in the pretest test was 29%, meanwhile, in the posttest test was 86%. Based on the classical completeness requirements ≥80%, indicated that students completed classically. The N-gain test obtained was 0.75 with high criteria or classified g ≥ 0.7, it was concluded that the teaching material supplement of news based bioconservation teaching was effective in improving student learning outcomes. The understanding of environmental awareness was obtained using an environmental awareness questionnaire, the criteria obtained were high with a mean score of 73.88%. Based on the result of the study, then, it can be concluded that teaching material supplement of news based bioconservation is appropriate to be used as teaching materials in the learning and effectively embedding the student learning outcomes and the understanding of environmental awareness.

Abstract

This research is aimed to analyze science learning that applies the PBL model with the SETS approach of students’ activities and learning outcomes. The research methodology used pre-test and post-test group design with each one of experimental and control classes. The findings obtained by an average gain score of the experimental class 0.2895 and the control class 0.2135, so that the experimental class has an increase in learning outcomes higher than the control class. The category of students who were very active and active in the experimental class was higher with a percentage of 87%. The conclusion of the study was the science learning model applying the PBL model with the SETS approach can optimize students’ activities and learning outcomes.
