Abstract

The study aims to theoretically explain the dynamics of subjective well-being in the early marriage of Madurese women. This study used a qualitative research method with an Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) approach. The data collection used the semi-structured interview with the interview guide containing questions that reflect the ephocē. The participants in this study were 9 Madurese women who lived in Bangkalan Regency, Sampang Regency, Pamekasan Regency, and Sumenep Regency. There were important points that became the findings of this study, including (a) Madurese women who married early could achieve subjective well-being proven with statements that indicated life satisfaction in their marriage and could feel positive emotions more often than negative emotions, and (b) The achievement of subjective well-being of Madurese women who married early could not be separated from their husband's acceptance and support.

Abstract

Based on education level, several studies have found that the higher the level of education, the higher the burnout rate. This is possible because someone with a higher level of education, works with greater responsibility and a high level of stress. This study aims to obtain an overview of the influence of instrumental music and work stress on the Burnout Syndrome condition of university lecturers, both public and private. This research uses literature study methods on electronic databases, such as: Educational Administration Quarterly Journal, Research in Education, Active Learning in Higher Education SAGE Journals, Indonesian Psychology Journal, Undip Psychology Journal, Theoretical and Applied Psychology Journal, Psychology Science Journal, Psychology Journal Scientific, Interventional Psychology Journal, Psychological Research and Thought Journal, Mulawarman University Psychostudia Journal, UMA Psychology Masters Journal, Psychopoly Tan from 2003-2019. Several studies discuss burnout in terms of other factors, social support, self-efficacy, self-concept, self-regulation, gratitude, professional identity, life pressure, consciousness personality dimensions, role ambiguity, and workload.

Abstract

Mental health issues that develop in college students, particularly STEM students, require additional attention. This is also accompanied by STEM students' level of mental health literacy. This study aims to determine whether there is a correlation between mental health literacy and psychological distress in STEM students at the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology. The Mental Health Literacy scale used to measure mental health literacy. The Kessler Psychological Distress (K10) used to measure psychological distress. The results of the research data analysis obtained a correlation value of 0,838 (p > 0,05). Mental health literacy does not indicate an existing correlation with psychological distress, thus implying that there might be other variables involved.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to explore the life experiences of Madurese women who entered into early marriages. Employing a qualitative research methodology with a phenomenological approach, the study encompassed nine Madurese women residing in Bangkalan, Sampang, Pamekasan, and Sumenep districts as participants. Semi-structured interviews were conducted for data collection. Additionally, in this phenomenological study, Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) was employed for analysis. Through the data examination, eleven superordinate themes emerged, coalescing into four main themes. The findings of the study illuminated that the experience of early marriage among Madurese women was a dynamic process shaped by various facets of their lives. This encompassed deeply ingrained cultural beliefs, perspectives on marriage, the presence of arranged matches, and strategies for managing conflicts within their marital unions.

Abstract

Abstract. Social media has become an inseparable part of Gen Z’s life. However, a number of previous research documented contradictive findings regarding social media use and its effect on psychological wellbeing among adolescents. This study aimed to investigate the role of self-esteem, social media dependency, and motives of social media use in the psychological well-being of Gen Z adolescents. A total of 647 students (aged 12 to 21 years, comprising 282 males and 365 females) participated and completed several self-reported instruments, including the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES), the Online Social Network Dependency Scale (OSNDS), the Social Media Usage Motives Scale (SMUMS), and the Mental Health Inventory (MHI-18). Results from Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) showed that self-esteem was a positive predictor, while social media dependency was a negative predictor of psychological well-being in Gen Z adolescents. Social media dependency was also found significantly mediate the link between self-esteem and psychological well-being. In addition, motives for social media use were a significant moderator of the relationship between social media dependency and psychological well-being, in which a maintaining existing relationship motive intensified this association, while a meet new people and socializing motive weakened it. These findings implied the importance of an intervention targeting selfesteem in understanding the motive behind adolescents’ use of social media so that their consumption of social media could be appropriate and offer benefits for their psychological well-being.Keywords: gen Z; psychological well-being; self-esteem; social media dependency; social media use motive.

Abstract

Researchers designed the sensory science project (SSP) learning model according to the cognitive and psychological development of early childhood. SSP contains sensory stimulation activities and knowledge material which are arranged in an integrated manner in an activity project. This research aims to determine the effect of the SSP learning method on students' readiness to enter elementary school.This research method is quantitative research analysis with a quasi experiment approach. This research design uses a nonequivalent comparison group, conducting a pre-test and post-test on the control group and experimental group at the same time (Creswell, 2016). The data collected used the Nijmeegse schoolbekwaamheids Test (NST) and subject observation. The learning intervention used uses the sensory science project (SSP) module which has gone through a module testing process. The research subjects were 24 children, aged 5-6 years who were attending early childhood education at TK B level at TK RJ Sidoarjo. The results of this research found that there was an influence of implementing the SSP model on children's readiness to enter elementary school. The independent sample t-test produced a value of t(19)=2.392, p=0.027. The average posttest score for the experimental group was 55.70, while for the control group it was 46.73. The average posttest score for the experimental group was higher than the control group. This proves that there was a greater increase in scores for the experimental group after being given the SSP learning intervention. The results of this research can be used as input and consideration in designing educational methods for early childhood which include inquiry learning, sensory integration and project based learning. It is hoped that this method can support children's school readiness to enter elementary school.Peneliti merancang model pembelajaran sensory science project (SSP) sesuai dengan perkembangan kognitif dan psikologis anak usia dini. SSP berisi kegiatan stimulasi sensori dan materi pengetahuan yang disusun secara terintegrasi dalam sebuah proyek kegiatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode pembelajaran SSP terhadap kesiapan siswa memasuki SD. Metode penelitian ini adalah analisis penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan quasi experiment. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan nonequivalent comparasion group, melakukan pre test dan post test kepada kelompok kontrol dan kelompok eksperimen di waktu yang bersamaan (Creswell, 2016). Penggalian data yang digunakan menggunakan Nijmeegse Schoolbekwaamheids Test (NST) dan observasi subyek. Intervensi pembelajaran yang digunakan menggunakan modul sensory science project (SSP) yang telah melalui proses uji coba modul. Subyek penelitian berjumlah 24 anak, usia 5-6 tahun yang sedang mengikuti pendidikan usia dini jenjang TK B di TK RJ Sidoarjo. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan  adanya pengaruh penerapan model SSP terhadap kesiapan anak masuk SD. Uji independent sample t-test menghasilkan nilai t( 19)=2,392, p=0,027. Nilai rata-rata posttest untuk kelompok eksperimen adalah 55,70, sedangkan pada kelompok kontrol adalah  46,73. Rata-rata nilai posttest kelompok eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelompok kontrol. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa ada peningkatan nilai lebih besar terhadap kelompok eksperimen setelah diberi intervensi pembelajaran SSP. Hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai bahan masukan dan bahan pertimbangan dalam merancang metode pendidikan untuk anak usia dini yang mencakup pembelajaran inquiry, sensori integrasi dan project based learning. Diharapkan metode tersebut dapat mendukung kesiapan sekolah anak untuk memasuki sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Selama masa remaja, individu menghadapi berbagai keadaan yang menuntut adanya perubahan pada kondisi fisik, cara berpikir, emosi, dan interaksi sosial. Berbagai perubahan ini dapat mengubah pandangan remaja tentang diri mereka, sehingga gambaran konsep diri remaja menjadi lebih kompleks. Remaja perlu memiliki konsep diri yang baik, karena konsep diri dapat berpengaruh dalam kehidupan individu. Salah satu pengaruh dari konsep diri ialah prestasi belajar di sekolah dan pengambilan keputusan terkait karir di masa mendatang. riset ini merupakan riset kualitatif dengan jenis riset studi kasus. Karakteristik partisipan riset ini ialah siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas yang mengalami permasalahan prestasi akademik yang rendah. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan ialah observasi, wawancara, dan tes psikologi. Hasil riset ini menunjukkan bahwa permasalahan konsep diri negatif merupakan sebagian dampak dari kurangnya kemampuan kognitif yang dimiliki. Faktor penyebab yang menonjol dalam kasus ini ialah faktor lingkungan sekitar, seperti kurangnya dukungan dan bantuan yang diberikan secara tepat dari kedua orang tua maupun teman sebaya. Konsep diri yang negatif membuat siswa memiliki pola reaksi yang negatif dan kesulitan menentukan arah karir di masa depan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh parenting self efficacy terhadap keterlibatan orang tua dalam karier remaja. Parenting self efficacy dalam penelitian ini dikemukakan oleh Coleman dan Karraker (2003) dan keterlibatan orang tua dalam karier berdasarkan penjelasan Dietrich dan Kracke (2009). Partisipan penelitian berjumlah 84 orang tua yang memiliki anak seorang remaja dengan rentang usia 15 sampai 24 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dan teknik survey untuk pengambilan data. Analisis data menggunakan analisis regresi linear sederhana dengan menggunakan bantuan perangkat SPPSS 25.0 for windows. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data penelitian diketahui bahwa parenting self efficacy secara signifikan berpengaruh positif terhadap keterlibatan orang tua dalam karier remaja sebesar 34,9 persen dan persamaan garis regresi Y = 5,563 + 0,131X.

Abstract

Dewasa awal ditandai dengan intimacy vs isolation yang merupakan tugas perkembangan tahap ke-6. Individu yang tidak mencapai intimacy maka akan menyebabkan perasaan terisolasi. Intimacy dapat dicapai melalui kelekatan dengan hewan peliharaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan antara pet attachment dengan kesepian pada dewasa awal lajang yang merantau.  Terdapat 84 responden berusia 20-40 tahun yang memiliki hewan peliharaan saat merantau. Metode yang digunakan adalah survey melalui kuesioner. Penelitian ini menggunakan LAPS oleh Johnson untuk mengukur kelekatan dengan hewan peliharaan dan menggunakan UCLA Loneliness Scale Version 3 untuk mengukur kesepian. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dilakukan dengan teknik statistik korelasi spearman's rho dibantu dengan software JAMOVI 1.6. Hasil analisis data diperoleh dengan p sebesar >.05 (p=0.110). Hal ini menunjukan bawah tidak terdapat hubungan antara pet attachment dengan kesepian dewasa awal lajang yang merantau.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya hubungan antara harapan (hope) dan resiliensi akademik siswa SMA/SMK di masa pandemi COVID-19. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kuantitatif terhadap 223 siswa SMA/SMK dan pengambilan dilakukan dengan metode survei. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah State Hope Scale (SHS) yang berjumlah 6 item (α=0,739) untuk mengukur harapan (hope) dan skala resiliensi akademik yang berjumlah 41 item (α =0,913) untuk mengukur resiliensi akademik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara harapan (hope) dan resiliensi akademik dengan kekuatan korelasi yang tinggi (R=0,530, p<0,05). Hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin tinggi harapan (hope) yang dimiliki siswa, maka semakin tinggi pula resiliensi akademiknya, demikian juga sebaliknya.
