Abstract

Background: Body fat percentage can be increased with an unbalanced state between energy intake with energy output. Individuals who are overweight and obesity requires an exercise program to reduce the percentage of body fat. Objective: This study aims to prove the high intensity interval training to more effectively reduce the percentage of body fat than continuous submaximal training in class XI student of SMAN 4 Tasikmalaya. Method: This experimental (pre and post-test control group design) involved 40 samples who overweight and obese individuals were divided into 2 groups with randomization. Group I received high intensity interval training and group II received continuous submaximal training. Treatment was given for 8 weeks, the frequency of 3 times/week, duration of 60 minutes/session. Result: The results of a study reported decreased body fat percentage of the average of 40.47±3.27% to after the training 36.3±2.88% in group I and from average 41.93±2.93% to after training 38.93±3.13% in group II. Different test body fat percentage before and after high intensity interval training using paired sample t-test showed p=0.000 (p<0.05). Different test body fat percentage before and after continuous submaximal training using paired sample t-test showed p=0.000 (p<0.05). Statistical analysis of body fat percentage difference after high intensity interval training and continuous submaximal training using independent sample t-test showed p=0.009 (p<0.05). Decreasing body fat percentage of high intensity interval training is 4.17±2% while 3±2.25% in continuous submaximal training. Conclusion: High intensity interval training is more effective than continuous submaximal training in reducing body fat percentage in class XI student of SMAN 4 Tasikmalaya.

Abstract

Waktu tempuh memanjat sangat menentukan kemenangan bagi atlet panjat tebing kategori speed world record, oleh sebab itu peningkatan kondisi fisik seperti power lengan dan tungkai serta kekuatan daya tahan jari-jari tangan dan kaki diperlukan untuk mendukung mempercepat waktu pemanjatan. Tujuan Penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui pelatihan kombinasi power training dan calf raises lebih mempercepat waktu tempuh memanjat daripada power training dan hand grip. Penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental dengan rancangan randomized pre-test and post test group design. Sampel sebanyak 20 atlet perempuan berusia 15-20 tahun, dibagi menjadi 2, Kelompok I (power traning dan hand grip) sebanyak 10 orang dan Kelompok II (power traning dan calf raises) sebanyak 10 orang. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama 6 minggu dan pengukuran dilakukan dengan mengukur waktu tempuh memanjat menggunakan stopwatch. Hasil yang didapat dari uji paired sample t-test pada Kelompok I didapatkan nilai p = 0,000 (p < 0,05), dan pada Kelompok II didapatkan nilai p = 0,000 (p < 0,05). Uji beda nilai rerata dengan independent sample t-test setelah perlakuan didapatkan waktu tempuh memanjat tebing pada Kelompok II (10,6 ± 0,966) lebih cepat daripada kelompok I (12,1 ± 1,449) dengan nilai p = 0,014 (p < 0,05). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelatihan kombinasi power training dan calf raises lebih mempercepat waktu tempuh memanjat daripada power training dan hand grip pada atlet pemanjat tebing FPTI Kabupaten Karangasem Bali. Abstract

AbstractBackground: Emotions or feelings among sports participants need to get attention because emotions in addition to affecting other psychological aspects (mind and desire) also affect the physiological aspects. Method: This preliminary study was an observational (cross sectional analytic) study conducted in April 2018 in Denpasar that combined observations, interviews among key informant person (to collect the qualitative data) and quantitative data collection used a Task and Ego Orientation in Sport Questionnaire (mixed method). Result: The results of this study showed an emotional reaction that emerged as the effect of doing Senam Janger exercises was very positively. The focus of attention on gym movements, traditional gamelan accompaniment that reminds spiritual nuances, as well as aerobic exercise effects in the zones target of exercise can provide a sense of excitement and mental calm. The gymnastics activity within group have an effect on social interaction that can lead to competitiveness attitudes. The effect occurs by the presence of other persons factor or presence of others. Conclusion: Senam Janger exercise -from the psychological aspect- create an effect of positive emotional reactions (joy, less tension), but in this study has not been proven its effect on increased confidence and superior feeling in competing due to very small sample size.Keywords: general gymnastics, psychological aspects, positive emot

Abstract

ABTSRACT Introduction: Physical exercise as anticipate of hypertension along with nutrition and medicines. One of physical exercise that can be applicated here is relaxation techniques which is showed positive impact in decreased blood pressure. Objective: Determine the difference between PMR intervention with SSBM intervention to reduce blood pressure for grade I hypertension patients whose consumed anti-hypertension medicine in badung regency. Methods: Experimental method Pre and post-test control group design and used 24 subjects, divided in to 2 groups, in which the experimental group I (n=12) received progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) while the treatment group 2 (n=12) received slow stroke back massage (SSBM). Intervention is given 3 times a week for 4 weeks. This study was using simple random sampling. Blood pressure was measured by sphygmomanometer and stethoscope. Result: Independent Sample T-test showed there was significant difference between Group 1 and Group 2 which (p<0.05) for systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Conclusion: Progressive muscle relaxation intervention decrease blood pressure more than slow stroke back massage intervention in patients grade I hypertension whose consumed anti-hypertension medicine in Badung Regency.Keywords: progressive muscle relaxation, slow stroke back massage, grade I hypertension, blood pressure

Abstract

Background: Football is part of the game that aims to put the ball into the opponent's goal. Reality on the ground observed during this time that many players do not have a good ability to do the shooting to the goal, so it needs to be a training program that aims to improve the accuracy of shooting at goal. Model training provided that training remains the target shooting and target shooting training changed. Objective: The purpose of this research, is to determine the shooting training with fixed targets and training target shooting with a change to the accuracy of shooting at goal. Method: The research is experimental with pre-test and post-test group design in Students of PJKR in PGRI University-Kupang, with a sample of 28 students, divided into two and each group is divided into 14 subjects. Group 1 was given training shooting targets fixed and group 2 was given training shooting target changes that conducted for 8 weeks with with frequency of three times in a week. Results of the research were analyzed using normality test with the Shapiro-Wilk Test and Test of Homogeneity with Leven's Test. Result: Paired t-test to determine the accuracy of shooting in mean difference in group 1 that using fixed target shooting with a mean pre-training =3.5±0.7 and the mean after training =6.7±1.0 with difference =3.2, and the percentage increase =91.42% (p<0.05). While in group 2 that using training target shooting with a mean change before training =3.3± 0.6 and the mean after training =4.6±0.6 to 1.3 and the percentage difference =39.39% increase (p<0.05). The results of the different effects goal shooting accuracy changes were tested by t-independent inter-group before and after training at the limit of significance ?=0.05. The mean change in the accuracy of shooting before training with a value of p>0.05, which means that the initial conditions are the same and after the training has a value of p<0.05. Conclusion: It can be concluded that, fixed target shooting and changed target shooting remain unchanged equally gives the effect of increased shooting accuracy (p<0.05). But the increase in group 1 that using fixed target shooting training is still better than in group 2 that using changed target shooting. Suggestion: It is advisable to use a fixed target shooting training in the process of training, the recruitment of players or athletes, because the effect is more effective.

Abstract

Long jump ability is part of athletic event, which was based on power ability. Meanwhile power was influenced by the type of training. Among some training types there are plyometric broad jump training and plyometric box jump training.The purpose of this research is to find out which one is more effective to increase the long jump ability between plyometric broad jump training and plyometric box jump training. Pretest – Posttest two group designs was used in this study. Samples of the study were taken from male students of Primary Secondary School or Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) PGRI 2 Denpasar. Students were randomly divided into two groups (group 1 and group 2) each consist of 12 subjects proportionally. Group 1 was trained plyometric box jump and group 2 was trained plyometric broad jump respectively. The durationof training was 6 weeks and the frequency was three time a week. The test of long jump was carried out before and after 6 weeks training. These pre and post result of distance of long jump were compared each other. The result and statistical t-test analysis are as follows. Mean distance of long jump before training of group 1(344.25 cm) and group 2 (355.75 cm) was not significantly difference (p > 0.05). Meanwhile result after training of group 1 (mean 374.75 cm, increasing jump 30.50 cm) and group 2 (mean 397.33 cm, increasing jump 41.58 cm), were also significantly difference (p < 0.05). This study conclude that plyometric broad jump training more increasing the ability to long jump than plyometric box jump training among male students SMP PGRI 2 Denpasar. The value of mean difference was 11.08 cm. It is recommended to coaches and sport teachers can choose this broad jump training method to increase the ability of long jump of primary high school students.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe basic techniques of volleyball used to use muscular group in our body, especially the leg’s muscles that is facilitating the springboard movement. Explosive power is the ability of muscles to exert maximum force in a very quick time. Leg muscle explosive power is one of the essential components required in the sport of volleyball particular in the motion of smash, passing and blocking hat needs to be improved by training plyometrics. The training that were conducted during this research are the plyometric depth jump and plyometric box jump training using the principle of progressive load with 3 times frequencies a week within 6 weeks. The aim of this study is to compare the explosive power of training leg muscle. This study use a randomized experimental design with pre test and post test group design for six weeks with 3 times frequencies a week. The sample’s numbers is 32 participants that was divided into two groups. The first group was given training in plyometrics depth jump and the second group was given training plyometrics box jump. The explosive power of leg muscle is measured by using a jump DF which measured before and after training for each groups. The result of this research is shown before training in group I is 42.25 ± 3.92 cm and 51.81 ± 4.41cm after training (p <0.05). While, in group II the mean shows 40.25 ± 5.14 cm before training and 45.25 ± 5.07 cm after training (p <0.05). Training in group I can increase explosive power leg muscle than group II (p <0.05). Based on the result, it is concluded that the plyometric depth jump training is more better than the plyometric box jump training in increasing explosive power leg muscle for the students of volley ball extracurricular at SMK Negeri 1 Petang.Keywords: plyometrics depth jump training and box jump, explosive power leg muscle, sports volleyball.

Abstract

Overweight was one of the adolescent health problem in Indonesia. Aerobic exercise can reduce body fat, prevent overweight and increase flexibility. The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of Hatha Yoga and low impact aerobic exercise to the percentage of body fat and flexibility of adolescent girl in Denpasar. Research used randomized pre-test and post-test design involved 26 subject. Group 1 treated hatha yoga and Group 2 treated low impact aerobic. This intervention was given for 6 weeks, frequency 3 times a week, for 45 minute in Sanggar Senam Studio 88 Denpasar. The result shown that hatha yoga reduced the percentage of body fat with mean decrease of 4.91% and low impact aerobic exercise with a mean decrease of 1.41%. Increasing of flexibility hatha yoga with a mean 12.58 cm and low impact aerobic exercise with a mean 8.54 cm. The result from different test used independent t test found that mean decreased for the percentage of body fat after intervention equal to 4.28% with value of p = 0.032 and mean increased flexibility by 5 cm with value of p = 0.035. That result shown that there is a significant difference of body fat percentage and flexibility after intervention during 6 weeks (p<0.05). Conclusion: hatha yoga more effective in reducing the percentage of body fat and increasing flexibility than low impact aerobic exercise of adolescent girl in Denpasar. It is suggested to individuals with overweight in order to do sports activities regularly and continuously. Hatha yoga as an alternative sport activities that can be used to reduce the percentage of body fat, increase flexibility and physical fitness.

Abstract

Background: One of the things that greatly affect the capability and performance of lower trunk and lower extremity is core stability. Core stability is the ability to control the position and movement of the trunk to pelvic used to produce, transfer and control the power and motion to with the final segment of the integrated activities. Method: The study was a randomized experimental design with pre- and post-test control group design. 34 students from SMU Olahraga Ragunan Jakarta students between 16-19 years old which is participating as sample on 6 weeks research on Mei-June 2016. The group was divided into two groups-first group doing tube resistance exercise and second group doing combination of tube resistance exercise and neurac training. Measurement instruments used were kicking the ball into the goal using the method of measurement by Finnoff. Measurements were taken before treatment and after treatment. Result: The mean accuracy of the first group before treatment 9.882 ± 2.11, after treatment 11.058 ± 1:51 after tested with paired samples t-test has increased significantly (p = 0.03). The mean accuracy kick second group before treatment 10,588±3,624, after treatment 12,470±3,184, after being tested with paired samples t-test experienced a significant improvement (p = 0.002). The mean difference in accuracy kick of first group (9.882 ± 2.11) compared with second group (11.058 ± 1:51) tested by Mann Whitney U test has no significant difference p = 0.495 (p?0.05). Abstract

Pendahuluan: Vertical jump merupakan komponen yang diperlukan dalam melakukan jump smash dan keterampilan melakukan service dalam permainan bola voli. Efisiensi melompat atau daya ledak ekstremitas bawah dapat menunjang pemain untuk mencetak skor. Tujuan penelitian: untuk membuktikan kombinasi static stretching dan plyometric training lebih baik daripada kombinasi static stretching dan strength training dalam meningkatkan vertical jump pada pemain voli. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan design experimental randomized pre-test and post-test two group design. Penelitian dilakukan di UKM Bola Voli STIKES Ngudia Husada Madura. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 18 orang yang dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok secara acak, masing-masing kelompok berjumlah 9 orang. Kelompok I diberikan kombinasi static stretching dan strength training sedangkan Kelompok II diberikan dengan kombinasi static stretching dan plyometric training. Perlakuan dilakukan 3 kali seminggu selama 6 minggu dengan evaluasi menggunakan sargent jump test (SJT). Hasil penelitian: Uji statistik menggunakan paired-samples t-test pada Kelompok I dengan rerata skor sebelum intervensi 38,78±3,52 cm dan sesudah intervensi yaitu 48,89±6,09 cm dengan nilai p=0,001 dan Kelompok II dengan rerata skor sebelum intervensi 37,11±4,01 cm dan sesudah intervensi 54,11±2,66 cm dengan nilai p<0,001. Dapat disimpulkan terjadi peningkatan vertical jump yang bermakna padi setiap kelompok. Uji beda hipotesis antara Kelompok I dengan Kelompok II menggunakan uji independent-samples t-test diperoleh nilai p=0,021. Simpulan: Kombinasi static stretching dan plyometric training lebih baik dalam meningkatkan vertical jump pada pemain voli dari pada kombinasi static stretching dan strength training.
