Abstract

Differentiated learning is a fundamental aspect of the Independent Curriculum, officially adopted as Indonesia’s national curriculum in the 2024/2025 academic year. Although the curriculum promotes adaptive and inclusive learning tailored to individual student needs, its implementation in Social Studies (IPS) instruction in middle schools in Semarang City encounters significant challenges. This study evaluates the application of differentiated learning strategies, focusing on planning, implementation, and evaluation stages while identifying obstacles faced by teachers. A mixed-methods approach with an embedded concurrent design was employed, combining quantitative data from ANOVA and Pearson correlation tests with qualitative insights from interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. Data were collected from four representative schools, with Sekolah Mandiri Berbagi emerging as a model for effective implementation through innovative and adaptive instructional strategies. The findings indicate that schools with comprehensive planning and responsive implementation achieve better learning outcomes. However, challenges such as insufficient teacher training, limited resources, and time constraints hinder the overall effectiveness of differentiated learning. These results underscore the need for strengthening teacher competencies, improving educational infrastructure, and adopting more adaptive teaching approaches. This study offers actionable insights to enhance differentiated instruction under the Independent Curriculum, contributing to educational reform in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the basic values of Islamic economics are a set of values that are believed in with all faith, which will become the basis of the Islamic economic paradigm, including business. The purpose of this research is to find out the Islamic economic review of the Muslim fashion business. This research uses qualitative research methods. Based on the research results, it shows that basic values such as a good philosophical value, instrumental and institutional, are based on the Al-Qur'an and Hadith which are the two highest normative sources in the Islamic religion. This is the main thing that differentiates Islamic economics from conventional economics, namely the placement of religious teachings as the main source of economic knowledge. Business according to Islam can be interpreted as a series of business activities in various forms which are not limited by the amount (quantity) of ownership of assets (goods/services) including profits but are limited in the manner and acquisition and utilization of assets (halal and haram rules). With sharia control, business aims to achieve four things, namely target results (material profit and non-material benefits), growth which means continuing to increase, sustainability for as long as possible and the blessing of Allah SWT's pleasure.

Abstract

Abstract

This study addresses the issue of disaster vulnerability in Demak Regency, an area highly exposedto tidal flooding, coastal erosion, and extreme weather. The objective of the research is toformulate a community participation-based disaster education model that strengthenspreparedness and resilience at the local level. Theoretically, the study draws on disaster riskreduction frameworks emphasizing community empowerment, participatory education, andintegration of local wisdom. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitativeZ-score analysis of disaster data from 2020–2022 with qualitative thematic analysis using NVivoto assess literature, policy documents, and community practices. The results reveal that disasterhazards in Demak are spatially varied: Sayung District is categorized as high-hazard, Guntur asmedium, while twelve other sub-districts fall into the low category. These findings highlight thenecessity of contextualized disaster education tailored to specific local hazards. The proposedmodel integrates schools, communities, and cultural traditions to enhance disaster literacy, fostersocial cohesion, and improve adaptive capacity. The conclusion emphasizes that a participatory,location-specific education framework is more effective than uniform approaches and can bereplicated in other disaster-prone regions. The novelty of this study lies in combining empiricalhazard mapping with community participation principles to design a disaster education modelthat is both data-driven and socially embedded, thereby bridging gaps between statistical riskassessment and local educational practice.

Abstract

The city of Semarang has experienced rapid growth recently, particularly in the industrial and transportation sectors. This development has led to an increased demand for land, especially in coastal areas, which has in turn triggered the conversion of ponds and swamps into industrial and residential areas. Many newcomers also choose coastal areas as their residential locations, although these are often developed without adequate spatial planning. This situation accelerates land subsidence, which directly impacts the lives of surrounding communities. In this context, the community's ability to adapt becomes crucial. One factor influencing this adaptability is the level of residential comfort. This study aims to understand the relationship between residential comfort and community adaptation strategies to land subsidence in Terboyo Kulon Village. Through a survey of 30 respondents and data collection via questionnaires, interviews, observations, and document studies, the research found that the community applies three main forms of adaptation: protective adaptation, accommodative adaptation, and retreat adaptation. These three forms of adaptation have a positive relationship with perceptions of residential comfort. These findings suggest that improving residential comfort can strengthen community resilience in the face of environmental changes such as land subsidence.
