Abstract

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) remote sensing is recommended to evaluate damage quickly and quantitatively. Therefore, this study aimed to explore the use of RGB aerial images by UAV for evaluating drought damage of rice through canopy color and coverage. The procedures were conducted in the dry season of 2018 (August – September 2018) at the Balitkabi Experimental field, Muneng, Probolinggo, Indonesia. A split-plot experimental field design was used with 2 factors, namely drought treatments at growth stage (Vegetative/P1, Reproductive/ P2, Generative/P3, and Control/P0), and varieties (Jatiluhur/V1, IPB9G/V2, IPB 3S/V3, Hipa 19/V4, Inpari-17/ V5, Mekongga/V6, Mentik Wangi/V7, Ciherang/V8). Canopy temperature data were then obtained using FLUKE 574 Infrared Thermometer, while images were taken with an RGB camera (Zenmuse X5) attached to Drone DJI Inspire I. The images were taken twice during the treatment (4 DAT and 15 DAT), followed by analysis using QGIS 2.18 and ImageJ. The results showed that RGB aerial images by UAV could be used in agricultural insurance in Indonesia, and similar countries around the world. Although the effect on yield needed to be evaluated, quick assessment by UAV was still an effective tool. In addition, drought damage evaluation through canopy color was better than canopy coverage in terms of analysis. The conversion from RGB to Lab color space increased the determination coefficient in multiple regression of color values against temperature difference (Tc-Ta).

Abstract

Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is a major source of vegetable oil and an important plantation commodity in the Indonesian economy. This study aims to determine the effect of slow-release fertilizer on the growth of oil palm seedlings in the primary nursery and to determine the nutrient status through laboratory analysis and spectroradiometer. The study was conducted at the IPB experimental station in Cikabayan, Dramaga, Bogor. Analysis of soil and leaf samples at the AGH Test Laboratory of the IPB University Department from December 2023 to July 2024. This study used a complete randomized block design with one factor, a nine-level fertilizer dose, and was repeated four times. Each experimental unit has 10 plants, so the total plant population is 360. Slow-release fertilizer can supply nutrients for a period of weeks. This study tested if it would benefit the growth of oil palm seedlings in the primary nursery. A slow-release fertilizer dose of 75% provides the best increase in oil palm seedling growth, whereas, at 50 and 150% doses, it did not increase compared to the control. The agronomic effectiveness value is above 95%.

Abstract

Vertical space optimization through a multi-canopy system can potentially increase rice production. This research aims to evaluate the agronomic performance, light interception, and production of rice plants cultivated with a multi-canopy system. This research was conducted at the Sawah Baru Experimental Farm, IPB University. Rice varieties used two common height plants (“Inpari 30” and “Inpari 32”) and the taller plants (“IPB 9G”). This research consisting of nine treatment combinations of cultivation system: mono-variety (“Inpari 30”, “Inpari 32”, and “IPB 9G”), combination of two varieties in one hill multi-canopy (“Inpari 30”-“IPB 9G” and “Inpari 32”-“IPB 9G”), inter-variety one-insertion multi-canopy (“Inpari 30”-“IPB 9G” and “Inpari 32”-“IPB 9G”), and inter-variety two-insertion multi-canopy (“Inpari 30”-“IPB 9G” and “Inpari 32”-“IPB 9G”). The results showed morphological and physiological performance as good in a multi-canopy system (inter-variety one insertion) on the variables of the plant height, number of panicles per clump, panicle length, number of grains per hill, weight of grains per hill, photosynthetic rate and land equivalent ratio (LER). The percentage of light interception in the multi-canopy system decreased by 19.13-61.54%. The inter-variety one-insertion multi-canopy with the “Inpari 30”-“IPB 9G” combination increases yield potential by 10.18%, and the “Inpari 32”-“IPB 9G” combination increases by 13.81% compared to the mono-variety. The combination of the “Inpari 30”- “IPB 9G” and “Inpari 32”-“IPB 9G” variety in an inter-variety one-insertion multi-canopy system produces an LER value of 1.75 and 1.64; this shows that the inter-variety one insertion multi-canopy system is promising to increase rice production.

Abstract

Kelapa sawit merupakan sumber devisa terbesar Indonesia dari sub sektor perkebunan. Manajemen tenaga kerja yang baik di perkebunan kelapa sawit sangat penting dilakukan agar perusahaan mampu mencapai produktivitas tinggi secara berkualitas dan berkelanjutan. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kebun Cikasungka pada bulan Februari sampai Juni 2023. Penelitian bertujuan mendapatkan pengalaman dan kompetensi tentang pengelolaan tenaga kerja di perkebunan kelapa sawit. Pengamatan dan penghimpunan data difokuskan pada manajemen tenaga kerja meliputi pengorganisasian tenaga kerja, prestasi kerja, disiplin dan kualitas kerja, dan penerapan Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO). Data hasil pengamatan dianalisis secara menggunakan uji t-student pada taraf 5% dan uji korelasi Rank Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tenaga kerja Kebun Cikasungka telah bekerja secara disiplin dengan kualitas kerja yang baik. Pihak manajemen Kebun Cikasungka telah menerapkan aspek berkelanjutan dan tanggung jawab terhadap pekerja dengan baik. Kata kunci: disiplin kerja, ISPO, kualitas kerja, prestasi kerja

Abstract

Kelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) merupakan tanaman berumur panjang sehingga kemampuan lahan dalam menyediakan unsur hara menjadi suatu kebutuhan yang penting. Manajemen pemupukan di lapangan harus dilakukan secara optimal untuk mencapai pemupukan yang efisien dan efektif sesuai jenis pupuk, dosis, waktu, cara aplikasi, serta pengawasan pemupukan yang lebih tepat. BMP atau praktik pengelolaan terbaik adalah tindakan agronomis untuk menemukan teknik terefektif agar perbedaan produksi aktual dengan potensinya berkurang serta menekan dampak terhadap lingkungan dengan memakai sumber daya produksi secara efisien. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kebun Mesuji, dari bulan Februari hingga Juni 2023. Penelitian bertujuan mempelajari pemupukan kelapa sawit, serta menguraikan perbandingan pengelolaan pemupukan kebun yang dikelola secara komersial dan kebun yang dikelola dengan praktik Best Management Practices. Pengamatan yang dilakukan yaitu pada rekomendasi dan realisasi Pemupukan, ketepatan pemupukan, dan data produksi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan uji t-student. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan BMP dan standar tidak menunjukkan perbedaan dalam hasil maupun input pemupukan. Untuk hasil pada blok BMP dan standar tidak berbeda nyata dan belum terlihat secara signifikan karena input masih sama, mengingat praktik BMP di kebun Mesuji baru dilakukan dalam rentang 2 tahun terakhir. Abstract

This study aims to determine how Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment Influence Organizational Citizenship Behavior in Nurses at Dewi Sri Karawang Hospital. This study uses Verification, the sample in this study was 102 respondents, a saturated sample type, taking the entire population as a sample. Data was obtained using a liket scale news distributed directly face to face. The data analysis method used Multiple Linear Regression Analysis using SPSS V24. The results of this study showed that Job Satisfaction Variables partially had a positive and significant effect on Organizational Citizenship Behavior and Organizational Commitment partially had a positive and significant effect on Organizational Citizenship Behavior. Abstract

Rice productivity is an important indicator of national food security, so an accurate analytical approach is needed to monitor and predict harvest yields spatially. This research aims to develop a rice productivity prediction model using remote sensing technology with Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and Support Vector Regression (SVR) method. The study was conducted in Balumbang Jaya Village, West Bogor Regency, with a limited sample size of 30 rie field plots. Five vegetation indices were analyzed, including: Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), Green Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (GNDVI), Normalized Difference Red Edge (NDRE), Optimized Soil-Adjusted Vegetation Index (OSAVI), and Leaf Chlorophyll Index (LCI). The research methodology integrated remote sensing techniques, multispectral image processing, and machine learning. The optimal SVR parameters were obtained through grid search with sigma=1 and cost=1. The Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE) was applied in initial data clasification stage to balance the productivity class distribution, although this study focused on regression. The results show that the SVR model with Radial Basis Function (RBF) kernel can explain 87.6% of rice productivity variability with a Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) of 0.29 ton/ha. The findings confirm the effectiveness of a multidisciplinary approach in developing accurate and innovative rice productivity prediction models. This model has the potential to be used as a decision-making tool in agricultural land management that is more efficient and responsive to environmental variability

Abstract

This research examines students' creative thinking in learning mathematics at the SMP/MTs level using video learning media. This research uses a quantitative approach with experimental methods. The respondents in this research were MTs YIU Pasirgadung students, where there were 19 people in class VIII A and 19 people in class VIII B. The aspects studied are related to students' creative mathematical thinking regarding the use of instructional video media in mathematics learning to improve students' mathematical creative thinking abilities. The research results showed that some students experienced an increase in creative thinking abilities after participating in learning using learning video media. These findings suggest the need for further research to explore more deeply the application of learning video media in improving students' creative thinking abilities. Thus, it is hoped that the use of learning video media can form students' creative thinking patterns in learning.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Kristal guava is one of the popular guava cultivars nowadays. The guava has white flesh and not-perfectly-round shaped that resembles a crystal and seedless. However, during the growth period fruit undergoes several physical and chemical changes and susceptible to insect infestation and other damage, all of which can reduce their commercial value and thus cause significant yield and economic losses. The aim of this research was to evaluate the influence of different color and bagging materials on guava fruit development and quality. The research was conducted at farmer farm located in Cikarawang Dramaga, from November 2013 to April 2014. This research was arranged in a randomized block design with one factor, consisted of ten treatments and five replications. The treatments were red plastic, yellow plastic, green plastic, blue plastic, sponnet with red plastic, sponnet with yellow plastic, sponnet with green plastic, sponnet with blue plastic, sponnet with transparent plastic and unbagged. Fruit quality assesment was conducted in Postharvest Laboratory of Agronomy and Horticulture Department, Bogor Agricultural University and Center for Tropical Horticultural Studies. The result showed that bagging improved fruit size, external quality and accelerated fruit maturity. Sponnet with red plastic bagging resulted in the biggest fruit at harvest. Sponnet with yellow or with red plastic baggings were able to maintain fruit peel smoothness up to 85%. Sponnet and plastic bagging resulted in better external quality than bagging with plastic only. Bagging did not show any effect on internal fruit quality. Keywords: colored bag, guava cv. Jambu Kristal memiliki daging buah berwarna putih, berbentuk bulat tidak beraturan serta berbiji sedikit. Selama pertumbuhan dan perkembangan buah mengalami berbagai perubahan fisik dan kimia dan rentan terhadap serangan hama, yang secara keseluruhan dapat mengurangi nilai komersial sehingga menyebabkan kehilangan yang signifikan dari segi hasil panen dan kerugian ekonomi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan pengaruh warna dan bahan pemberongsong terhadap perbaikan kualitas buah jambu ‘Kristal’. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada November 2013 sampai April 2014, di kebun petani yang berlokasi di Cikarawang, Dramaga, Bogor. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan satu faktor yaitu pemberongsongan buah, dengan sepuluh taraf dan lima ulangan. Perlakuan pemberonsongan menggunakan plastik merah, plastik kuning, plastik hijau, plastik biru, sponnet dan plastik merah, sponnet dan plastik kuning, sponnet dan plastik hijau, sponnet dan plastik biru, sponnet dan plastik bening serta tanpa pemberongsong. Pengujian kualitas buah dilakukan di Laboratorium Pascapanen Departemen Agronomi dan Hortikultura, Fakultas Pertanian, Institut Pertanian Bogor dan Laboratorium Pusat Kajian Hortikultura Tropika (PKHT) IPB. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberongsongan memperbaiki pertumbuhan, kualitas eksternal dan mempercepat pematangan buah. Pemberongsongan sponnet dan plastik merah menghasilkan buah dengan ukuran terbesar pada saat panen. Pemberongsongan menggunakan sponnet dengan plastik kuning atau merah mampu menjaga kemulusan buah hingga 85%. Pemberongsongan sponnet dan plastik menghasilkan kualitas eksternal yang cenderung lebih baik dibandingkan pemberongsongan hanya dengan plastik. Abstract

This research aims to develop and produce interactive learning media based on android applications in English subjects. This type of research is research and development that refers to the 4D development model modified into 3D. The subjects of this research were first grade students of SMPN 3 Majene. The instruments used in this study were (1) media expert validation sheet to measure media feasibility, (2) product expert validation sheet to measure media feasibility, and (3) student response questionnaire to find out students' opinions on the attractiveness of the developed media. The results of the research are: (1) Development of interactive learning media based on android. (2) Learning media is declared feasible by media expert validators with a percentage of 92% in the very feasible category and experts with a percentage of 94% including the very feasible category. (3) The learning media is declared interesting based on the results of the analysis of student response questionnaires, which is 80%. At the end of this study, it can be inferred that Power Point-based Android English Learning Multimedia is feasible and ready to assist English teachers and students to gain better English learning.
