Abstract

There is a significant need for digital media to support the learning of disaster mitigation materials, as existing learning tools are limited. Integrating these materials with a STEM approach enhances comprehensive understanding. Digital media, particularly in the form of comic strips, provides an accessible and engaging platform for students, especially as mobile devices such as smartphones—widely owned by students—can be used. This research and development aimed to maximize technology utilization in learning by creating a Digital Comic-strip learning tool for disaster mitigation in Class XI, incorporating the STEM approach. The ADDIE model, consisting of five stages—analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation—was employed in this study. The research was conducted at SMAN 1 Kepanjen, with a small-scale trial involving 10 students from Class XI IIS 4 and full implementation in a single class. Both qualitative and quantitative data were collected. The results demonstrate that the Digital Comic-strip media, which incorporates STEM principles, effectively supports disaster mitigation learning. The expert validation confirmed the media’s high feasibility, highlighting its effectiveness in meeting educational objectives and its potential to enhance student engagement in disaster mitigation topic.

Abstract

The problems in geography learning are difficulties in submitting and providing answers related to material and teacher-centered learning activities. This research aims to examine of the effect of the self-directed learning model on critical thinking skills and learning independence in geography subjects. This research is a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. Data collection methods include written test of essay questions about critical thinking skills and questionnaires regarding learning independence. The subjects of this study were class X-3 as the experimental class and class X-1 as the control class with a total of 34 students every class. Based on the results of Mann-Whitney U hypothesis testing, it is known that critical thinking ability has an Asymp. Sig 0.000 0.05. So, H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning that there is an effect of the self-directed learning model on critical thinking skills in geography subjects. Meanwhile, the learning independence shows the value of Asymp. Sig value of 0.000 0.05. then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, which means that there is an effect of the self-directed learning model on learning independence in geography subjects. The research findings show that the syntax of the self-directed learning model, namely implementation and evaluation as well as the syntax of identifying learner abilities and learning resources, affects critical thinking skills. Meanwhile, the syntax that affects learning independence is the syntax of identifying learner abilities and learning resources. Therefore, this research is expected to make a significant new contribution in understanding the self-directed learning model as an effort to improve critical thinking skills and learning independence in geography subjects.

Abstract

Pada masa pandemi COVID-19 masyarakat miskin dan rentan miskin yang ada di Desa Srimulyo memiliki dampak ekonomi yang cukup berat. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, salah satu upaya yang dilakukan dengan melakukan pendampingan budidaya jamur tiram terhadap anggota Keluarga Penerima Manfaat Program Keluarga Harapan (KPM PKH) dengan tujuan meningkatkan ketahanan pangan. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah sosialisasi dan pendampingan pada anggota KPM PKH dalam melakukan budidaya dan pengemasan jamur tiram. Hasil dari pendampingan ini yaitu terbentuknya kelompok-kelompok yang mengelola budidaya jamur tiram, terbentuknya dua kumbung sebagai lokasi budidaya jamur tiram, dan meningkatnya soft skills dan hard skills dalam menjalankan usaha khususnya budidaya jamur tiram sehingga dapat bertahan di masa pandemi COVID-19. Dengan adanya kelompok-kelompok dalam mengelola budidaya jamur tiram akan menambah lapangan kerja baru dan membantu perekonomian bagi anggota KPM PKH di Desa Srimulyo, Kecamatan Dampit, Kabupaten Malang.

Abstract

Pembelajaran geografi di SMA masih menghadapi tantangan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa, terutama dalam memahami konsep sumber daya alam. Metode pembelajaran konvensional cenderung kurang interaktif, sehingga siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam mengembangkan ide dan pemecahan masalah secara inovatif. Penelitian ini mengkaji efek e-modul interaktif berbasis proyek terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa SMA dalam materi sumber daya alam, menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimen semu. Subjek penelitian yaitu kelas X1 dan X2 di SMAN 1 Turen. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan tes dan dianalisis dengan uji-t. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu terdapat pengaruh e-modul interaktif berbasis pembelajaran proyek terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif, dengan nilai signifikansi uji-t sebesar 0,003. Penggunaan teknologi dan metode pembelajaran berbasis proyek dapat mengembangkan keterampilan kognitif siswa. E-modul merupakan sarana inovatif yang mendukung proses pembelajaran dengan cara yang lebih menarik dan efektif. Dengan fitur yang fleksibel dan mudah diakses, e-modul juga mendorong pembelajaran mandiri, memfasilitasi pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kreatif, serta memberikan pengalaman belajar yang lebih bermakna. Penggunaannya tidak hanya mempermudah penyampaian materi, tetapi juga mempercepat pemberian umpan balik dan evaluasi, sehingga siswa dapat terus meningkatkan kompetensinya secara optimal.

Abstract

Kawasan Hutan Dengan Tujuan Khusus (KHDTK) Gurah terletak di Blitar Selatan, tepatnya di Desa Tugurejo, Kecamatan Wates. Kawasan ini memiliki hutan lindung dan hutan produktif tetap yang memiliki peran penting bagi masyarakat, terutama terkait kebutuhan sumber daya air. Aktivitas masyarakat di dalam dan sekitar KHDTK Gurah menuntut adanya ketersediaan air yang dapat dimanfaatkan secara berkelanjutan. Oleh karena itu perlu adanya identifikasi keberadaan mataair sebagai dasar pemanfaatan sumber daya air oleh masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pembuatan peta dasar berdasarkan data sekunder serta kegiatan identifikasi lapangan secara partisipatif. Hasil kajian menunjukkan terdapat enam mataair di sekitar KHDTK Gurah, namun pada musim kemarau hanya dua mataair yang masih mengalir. Selain itu, kawasan ini juga memiliki sungai permukaan yang bersifat musiman. Mataair yang masih aktif kemudian dimanfaatkan melalui sistem pipanisasi gravitasi menuju tandon air di sekitar Pantai Gurah. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan dalam perencanaan pengelolaan sumber daya air yang berkelanjutan bagi masyarakat setempat.

Abstract

One of the factors that causes a decrease in student learning outcomes is because students' reading skills can only work on questions that are easy to understand. From these results, efforts are needed to improve the quality of education to build students' interest in reading, so the school literacy movement at the elementary school level is very important. Numeracy literacy is one thing that is useful for training students to think and reason intelligently. Critical. This research aims to analyze numeracy literacy abilities, and to analyze the critical thinking abilities of class V B students. The research method used in this research is descriptive research using a qualitative approach. The subjects of this research were students in class V B at SDN Candipari 2 Porong. The data collection method in this research involves students working on essay test questions, then researchers conducting interviews. The results of this research show that when students solve story problems based on numeracy literacy, they show good results, and students' critical thinking skills in solving numeracy literacy questions on story problems also show good results.

Abstract

The problem of river pollution in the Batu City tourist area, especially the Brantas River and Kali The problem of river pollution in the tourist areas of Batu City, particularly the Brantas River and Kali Lanang River, raises ecological concerns and negatively impacts tourism quality. Based on observations and interviews with environmental communities and residents living along the riverbanks, it was found that public awareness of maintaining river cleanliness is still low. This community service program aims to increase public environmental awareness and create participatory river management. The main activities include environmental education, training on the use of floating litter trap technology, and river clean-ups carried out collaboratively using the Penta Helix approach. The results have resulted in a 60% increase in environmental literacy, the implementation of river clean-ups by five communities/agencies, and a significant reduction in the volume of waste along the riverbanks. This approach has proven effective in building ecological awareness and can be replicated in other tourist areas.

Abstract

Based on the analysis of the situation, problems, and needs of MGMP Geography in Malang City, teachers experience obstacles in developing and using technology-based, innovative learning media, namely mobile role-playing games based on serious games. The purpose of community service activities is to provide training in the development of mobile role-playing game learning media based on serious games, which are games designed for specific educational goals, rather than just entertainment, and are formatted as mobile role-playing games (RPGs). This activity also aims to measure the resulting improvement in the teachers' competence. This community service activity employed a participatory training approach, structured into four phases: assessment, preparation, implementation, and evaluation, utilizing a combination of online and offline methods. The subjects in this activity were 50 teachers from MGMP Geography, Malang City. The Wilcoxon test revealed that implementing service activities had a positive impact on improving teachers' competence. In addition, the suggestion from this activity is that similar activities are needed as a form of sustainability for real efforts to improve teacher competence and the quality of geography learning.[Berdasarkan analisis situasi, permasalahan, dan kebutuhan terhadap MGMP Geografi Kota Malang, guru mengalami kendala dalam mengembangkan dan memanfaatkan media pembelajaran inovatif berbasis teknologi. yaitu mobile role-playing game berbasis serious game, yaitu permainan yang di desain untuk pendidikan, bukan hanya untuk bersenang-senang, dalam format role-playing game (RPG). Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yaitu memberikan pelatihan pengembangan media pembelajaran mobile role-playing game berbasis serious game dan mengukur tingkat kompetensi guru. Kegiatan pengabdian ini menggunakan pendekatan pelatihan partisipatif yang terdiri dari empat tahapan, yaitu asesmen, persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi, dengan kombinasi daring dan luring. Subjek dalam kegiatan ini adalah MGMP Geografi Kota Malang sebanyak 50 guru. Berdasarkan uji Wilcoxson menunjukkan implementasi kegiatan pengabdian berdampak positif terhadap peningkatan kompetensi guru. Selain itu, saran dari kegiatan ini yaitu diperlukan kegiatan serupa sebagai bentuk keberlanjutan terhadap usaha nyata dalam meningkatkan kompetensi guru dan kualitas pembelajaran Geografi.]

Abstract

In contemporary learning, students are encouraged to develop critical, analytical, and reflective thinking skills as well as the ability to express ideas creatively and systematically. One learning approach that supports these objectives is the EarthComm learning model, which emphasizes problem based learning by engaging students directly with real world environmental issues. Through this approach, students actively analyze problems, interpret data, and propose solutions, thereby fostering higher order thinking skills. This study aimed to examine the effect of the EarthComm learning model on students’ analytical thinking skills in senior high school geography learning. The research employed a quasi experimental design using a post test only control group. The participants were Grade XI social science students at SMA Negeri Tempeh, divided into an experimental group and a control group. The learning intervention was implemented over four weeks, consisting of three instructional meetings lasting three times forty five minutes based on the EarthComm learning syntax, followed by one week for group project completion and post test administration. Data were collected using descriptive test instruments that had been tested for validity and reliability. Prior to hypothesis testing, prerequisite analyses were conducted, including normality and homogeneity tests. Post test scores from both groups were analyzed using an independent samples t test. The results showed a significant difference in analytical thinking skills. The experimental group achieved a higher mean score than the control group. These findings demonstrate that the EarthComm learning model is effective in improving students’ analytical thinking skills in geography education.

Abstract

Abstrak Desa Wonorejo merupakan desa yang berada di Kecamatan Singosari. Pada wilayah desa ini terdapat area hutan produksi. Hutan tersebut merupakan hutan milik pemerintah. Melalui program Perhutanan Sosial masyarakat Desa Wonorejo dapat mengelola hutan mengingat Perhutanan Sosial merupakan sistem pengelolaan hutan lestari yang dilaksanakan dalam Kawasan Hutan Negara. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini yaitu pendampingan dalam melakukan pengukuran dan pemetaan batas Hutan Desa, serta pendampingan pemetaan area pemanfaatan Hutan Desa. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini yaitu partisipatory community dengan melibatkan masyarakat secara partisipatif dan memanfaatkan teknologi spasial dalam identifikasi kawasan hutan sosial. Adapun langkah-langkah pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan cara survei pendahuluan, sosialisasi program pengabdian, pemanfaatan teknologi geospasial seperti penggunaan GPS dan Drone, pembuatan peta dasar dengan menggunakan softwere pemetaan, pendampingan pengukuran dan pemetaan batas hutan desa, pendampingan pemetaan area pemanfaatan hutan desa. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan kawasan hutan produksi yang ada di dalam wilayah Desa Wonorejo seluas 81,7 ha dan berada dalam PIAPS. Pada area hutan yang ada di Desa Wonorejo terdapat sumber air yang dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat sekitar untuk kebutuhan sehari-hari. Hasil pemotretan foto udara menunjukkan area hutan desa wonorejo masih alami dan memiliki lereng yang curam hingga landai Kata kunci: teknologi spasial; hutan sosial; perhutanan sosial Abstract Wonorejo Village is a village in Singosari District. In this village area there is a production forest area. This forest is a government-owned forest. Through the Social Forestry program, the Wonorejo Village community can manage forests considering that Social Forestry is a sustainable forest management system implemented in the State Forest Area. The purpose of this service is assistance in measuring and mapping Village Forest boundaries, as well as assistance in mapping Village Forest utilization areas. The method used in this service is participatory community by involving the community in a participatory manner and utilizing spatial technology in identifying social forest areas. The steps for this service are carried out by means of a preliminary survey, socialization of the service program, use of geospatial technology such as the use of GPS and Drones, making base maps using mapping software, assistance with measuring and mapping village forest boundaries, assistance with mapping village forest utilization areas. The results of the service show that the production forest area within the Wonorejo Village area is 81,7 ha and is within PIAPS. In the forest area in Wonorejo Village there is a water source which is used by the local community for their daily needs. The results of aerial photography show that the Wonorejo village forest area is still natural and has steep to gentle slopesKeywords: spatial technology; Social forest; social forestry
