Abstract

Sadu District is located in East Tanjung Jabung Regency and consists of 9 villages, one of which is Sungai Jambat Village which is characterized by turbid, wavy, muddy, and sandy waters. The majority of fishermen in Sungai Jambat Village use bottom gillnet fishing gear with a mesh size of 3.5 inches and 4 inches. The purpose of this study was to compare the catches of bottom gillnet with mesh sizes of 3.5 inches and 4 inches in the waters of Sungai Jambat Village. The method used in this research is the experimental fishing method. The data collected includes environmental parameters, catch per species (head), and number of catches (head), weight per species (kg), and the total weight of catch (kg). The data analysis used is the descriptive analysis of an independent sample t-test. The results showed that the 3.5-inch mesh treatment was significantly higher than the 4-inch mesh treatment (p<0.05) in terms of the number and weight of bottom gillnet catches. In the 3.5-inch mesh size, the catch was 3,067 individuals with a weight of 248.40 kg, and the number of catches in the 4-inch mesh size was 2,820 individuals with a weight of 234.60 kg. The highest number of catches was leaftail croaker found in a 3.5-inch mesh size of 1,393 individuals, and mantis shrimp was the heaviest catch in a 3.5-inch mesh size weighing 69 kg. Pomfret is the lowest catch in terms of quantity and weight. The conclusion of this study in terms of the number and weight of catches with a 3.5-inch mesh size is higher than the 4-inch mesh size.

Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini merupakan kegiatan yang akan dilakukan dengan mitra para nelayan pengguna jaring insang di Desa Teluk Majelis Kecamatan Kuala Jambi Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Timur. Target luaran dari kegiatan ini adalah : 1. Nelayan dapat mengenal/memahami teknik merakit jaring insang, 2. Nelayan dapat menyusun komponen komponen jaring insang sesuai kebutuhan dan ukuran, 3. Nelayan dapat merakit secara mandiri jaring insang. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menggunakan metoda penyuluhan dan pelatihan. Program ini dilakukan terhadap nelayan yang mempunyai mata pencaharian sebagai nelayan penggunaa jaring insang. Permasalahan utama adalah; nelayan pada umumnya belum memahami teknik merakit jaring insang yang benar. Nelayan belum memahami komponen-komponen dan kebutujan biaya untuk merakit menjadi konstruksi jaring insang, Sehingga hal tersebut menjadi salah satu kendala nelayan terhadap kelangsungan usahanya dalam meningkatkan produksi hasil tangkap. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut perlu dilakukan solusi peningkatan pengetahuan melalui penyuluhan dan pelatihan tentang: Penyuluhan Tentang Merakit Jaring Insang Berdasarkan Ukuran Mata Jaring di Desa Teluk Majelis Kuala Jambi Tanjung Jabung Timur

Abstract

Penyuluhan dilakukan pada 24 September di Desa Tarikan Kecamatan Kumpeh Ulu Kabupaten Muaro Jambi. Kegiatan ini bertujuan memberikan pengetahuan dan pemahaman kepada masyarakat Desa Tarikan tentang bagaimana cara membudidayakan ikan lele di dalam ember secara akuaponik dengan memanfaatkan perkarangan rumah masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penyuluhan ini adalah ceramah, diskusi dan pengaplikasian sebagai contoh kepada masyarakat dalam proses pembuatan BUDIKDAMBER. Melalui kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PPM) oleh Tim Pengabdian Program Studi Pemanfaatan Sumberdaya Perikanan Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Jambi target yang ingin dicapai ialah masyarakat Desa Tarikan mampu memanfaatkan lahan perkarangan rumah sebagai tempat untuk digunakan melakukan usaha budidaya ikan di dalam ember dan tanaman sayur organik serta dapat menambah pendapat dari usaha BUDIKDAMBER

Abstract

Fishermen in the waters of Sadai Village mostly use the Bagan tancap by catching using different colors of lights. The study aimed to determine the effect of light colors (white, red, yellow, green, and blue) on the Bagan tancap fishing gear on catches in the waters of Sadai Village, South Bangka Regency. This research was conducted on April 28 - May 28 2022 in the waters of Sadai Village, South Bangka Regency. The method used is an experimental method using a randomized block design (RBD) and Duncan's further test. The data collected includes the type of catch, the total weight of the catch, the number of catches, and environmental parameters. The results showed that the treatment of different light colors affected the number (fish) and weight (kg) of the catches on the Bagan tancap. The composition of the catch on the Bagan tancap for the species caught is squid (Loligo sp) and Curvespine cuttlefish (Sepia recurvirostra) which are the main catch (HTU) while Starry triggerfish (Abalistes stellaris), mackerel (Rastrelliger brachysoma), Yellowtail scad (Atule mate), and Doublewhip threadfin bream (Nemipterus nematophorus) are by-catch. Based on the results, it can be concluded that blue light is a good color for catches in the form of number (fish) and weight (kg) on ​​the Bagan tancap fishing gear.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman ikan yang tertangkap pada Jala di Sungai Tabir meliputi jenis ikan, bobot ikan serta memberikan informasi mengenai kondisi perikanan di sungai Tabir saat ini. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 15 mei 2022 sampai 19 juli 2022 di Sungai Tabir Kelurahan Mampun Kecamatan Tabir Kabupaten Merangin. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode survei. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah Komposisi Jenis, Indeks Keanekaragaman, Indeks Keseragaman dan Indeks Dominansi. Hasil tangkapan Jala selama 15 hari penelitian di Sungai Tabir yaitu Ikan Seluang Rasbora argyotaenia 234 ekor dengan rata-rata per hari 15,6 ekor, Ikan Senggiring Mystus Sp. 119 ekor dengan rata-rata 7,93 ekor, Ikan Kapiat Barbonymus schwanenfeldii 89 ekor dengan rata-rata 5,93 ekor, Ikan Nilem Osteochilus vittatus 77 ekor dengan rata-rata 5,13 ekor dan Ikan Beterung Pristolepis fasciata 55 ekor dengan rata-rata 3,67 ekor. Hasil indeks keanekaragaman 1,47, indeks keseragamannya 0,91 dan indeks dominansi 0,26. Dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa Indeks Keanekaragaman Sedang, Indeks keseragamannya Tinggi, sedangkan Indeks Dominansi rendah.

Abstract

Mayoritas masyarakat di Mendahara ilir berprofesi sebagai nelayan Sondong merupakan alat tangkap yang banyak dioperasikan oleh nelayan di Mendahara ilir. Alat tangkap Sondong adalah alat tangkap aktif yang tujuan operasinya adalah menangkap udang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui Keanekaragaman Crustacea dengan menggunakan alat tangkap Sondong di Perairan Mendahara Ilir Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Timur. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Perairan Mendahara Ilir Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Timur selama 30 hari, dari tanggal 15 Desember 2021 sampai 15 Januari 2022. Metode yang di gunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen. Data yang di himpun dalam penelitian ini adalah jumlah total udang dan ikan (ekor), berat per jenis dan berat total udang dan ikan (kg), dan parameter lingkungan. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah komposisi jenis, indeks keanekaragaman, indeks keseragaman dan indeks dominansi. Hasil dari penelitian ini Jumlah hasil tangkapan yang didapat selama penelitian sebanyak 776,62 kg. Hasil tangkapan crustacea di Mendahara Ilir adalah udang loreng (Parapenaeopsis sculptilis), udang kapur (Metapenaeus dopsoni), udang jerbung (Penaeus merguiensis), udang agogo (P.indicus), udang mantis (Harpiosquilla raphidea), rajungan (Portunus pelagicus), belangkas (Carcinoscorpius). Selain itu hasil tangkapan sampingan (By-Catch) sondong seperti ikan selar (Selaroides leptolepi), gulamah (Johnius trachycephalus), Pari (Dasyatis sp), ikan lidah (Cynoglossus lingua). Hasil tangkapan tertinggi, yaitu udang Loreng sebanyak 196,2 kg hasil tangkapan terendah yaitu udang mantis sebanyak 2,63 kg, hasil indeks keanekaragaman 0,98, indeks keseragamannya yaitu 0,50 dan dominansi yaitu 0,43. Kesimpulannya adalah Keanekaragaman crustacea hasil tangkapan sondong di perairan Mendahara Ilir Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Timur termasuk dalam kategori sedang, indeks keseragaman sedang dan dominansi rendah.

Abstract

Jaring insang dasar (bottom gill net) ialah jaring yang berbentuk lembaran persegi panjang dengan mata jaring yang sama. Jaring insang ini dioperasikan dengan cara hanyut di dasar perairan atau di pertengahan perairan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman hasil tangkapan jaring insang dasar (bottom gill net) 4,5 inchi yang didaratkan di perairan Nipah Panjang II, Tanjung Jabung Timur. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode sensus dengan responden sebanyak 7 nelayan dan dilakukan pengulangan sebanyak 7 kali pada setiap nelayan. Data yang dihimpun dalam penelitian ini adalah jumlah total hasil tangkapan yang didaratkan, berat ikan dan jenis ikan untuk menganalisis komposisi hasil tangkapan, indeks keanekaragaman, indeks keseragaman, dan indeks dominansi serta parameter lingkungan yang diamati meliputi suhu, pH dan salinitas. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa terdapat sebanyak 862 ekor dengan komposisi terdiri dari 5 spesies yaitu ikan senangin (Eleutheronema tetradactylum), ikan kurau (Trachycep halus), ikan hiu (Selachimorpha sp), ikan malung (Gnathopis nystromi) dan ikan pari (Myliobatoidei sp). Jenis ikan yang paling banyak tertangkap adalah ikan senangin (E. tetradactylum) yaitu dengan jumlah 394 ekor dan ikan yang paling sedikit adalah ikan hiu (Selachimorpha sp) yaitu dengan jumlah 12 ekor. Indeks keanekaragaman bernilai 1,3 (sedang), indeks keseragaman bernilai 0,82 (tinggi) dan indeks dominasi sebesar 0,3 (rendah).The bottom gill net is a net in the form of a rectangular sheet with the same mesh. This gill net is operated by drifting on the bottom of the water or in the middle of the water. The aim of this research was to determine the diversity of catches from 4.5 inchs bottom gill nets landed in the waters of Nipah Panjang II, East Tanjung Jabung. The method used in this research was the census method with 7 fishermen as respondents and repeated 7 times for each fisherman. The data collected in this research is the total number of catches landed, weight of fish and types of fish to analyze the composition of the catch, diversity index, uniformity index and dominance index as well as environmental parameters observed including temperature, pH and salinity. The results of the research showed that there were 862 fish with a composition consisting of 5 species, namely gladin fish (Eleutheronema tetradactylum), kurau fish (Trachycep halus), shark (Selachimorpha sp), Malung fish (Gnathopis nystromi) and stingrays (Myliobatoidei sp). The type of fish that was caught the most was the sengin fish (E. tetradactylum), with a total of 394 fish, and the fish with the fewest was the shark (Selachimorpha sp), with a total of 12 fish. The diversity index is 1.3 (medium), the uniformity index is 0.82 (high) and the dominance index is 0.3 (low).

Abstract

In Teluk Lake, Jambi City, fishermen face productivity constraints when catching fish. Research on using Fish Aggregating Devices (FADs) is necessary to enhance effectiveness and efficiency. This study, conducted in March 2024 in Teluk Lake, Tanjung Pasir Village, Jambi City waters, examines the use of FADs with liftnet fishing gear. The main findings of the research show that using FADs significantly increases catch yields and reduces fishermen's operational costs. The research methodology involved experimental fishing with a t-test to compare the catch results of liftnet using FADs and without FADs. The research showed the capture of 8 types of fish from two repetitions with two treatments (liftnet with FADs and without FADs). The total catch was 150 fish weighing 9.313 g. Catches using FADs reached 114 fish (7.219 g), while those without FADs were only 36 (2.094 g). Lambak fish showed significant results, with 79 fish (3.910 g) caught using FADs compared to 18 fish (781 g) without FADs. The T-test analysis revealed a significant difference (P<0.01) in catch results between the two treatments, both in terms of quantity (T hit​>T tab​ (2.93 > 2.10) and weight (T hit​>T tab ​ (114.60 > 2.10)). This research has practical implications, as it demonstrates that using FADs can significantly increase the quantity and weight of catches, providing valuable insights for fishery methods.
