Abstract

This study examines green innovation and adaptive strategies as strategic determinants of MSME competitiveness and sustainability in the context of sustainable economic development. It analyzes how green innovation contributes to sustainable economic growth and identifies key drivers and barriers to its implementation, while also assessing the role of adaptive strategies in responding to globalization, shifting consumer preferences, and rising environmental demands. Using a quantitative survey of 150 MSMEs in Indonesia and data analysis with PLS-SEM, the study tests the relationships among green innovation, adaptive strategies, competitiveness, and sustainable economic growth. The results show that green innovation significantly promotes sustainable economic growth, and adaptive strategies are crucial in enhancing MSME competitiveness as well as mediating the relationship between green innovation and economic growth. Nonetheless, limited resources, constrained technological access, and weak regulatory support remain major obstacles. Theoretically, the study advances the literature on the integration of green innovation and adaptive strategies in MSMEs in developing countries. Practically, it offers implications for policy and managerial strategies to strengthen MSME competitiveness and sustainability through multi-stakeholder collaboration and policy incentives.

Abstract

Digital transformation has become one of the main drivers of sustainable innovation in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), especially in the face of global disruption and the need to adapt to rapid market changes. This study aims to examine the relationship between sustainable innovation, digitalization, and the economic resilience of SMEs, with a focus on how digital transformation strategies can enhance competitiveness while supporting sustainable business practices. Using a systematic literature review approach, this article analyzes relevant scientific publications to identify patterns, trends, and key thematic categories emerging from the current literature. The findings reveal that digital transformation drives new, more adaptive business models, strengthens dynamic capabilities, and enhances SMEs' resilience in facing crises. Additionally, the literature emphasizes that digitalization plays a crucial role in accelerating innovation in products and services oriented toward sustainability, while also opening opportunities for SMEs to access global markets in a more inclusive manner. This research contributes conceptually by offering a synthesis framework on the role of digitalization in sustainable innovation and SME economic resilience, while also providing practical implications for business actors and policymakers in formulating strategies to strengthen SME competitiveness in the digital era. These findings also open up further research opportunities on contextual digital adoption models and mechanisms for implementing sustainable innovation across various industrial sectors.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mechanism of trust transfer in social commerce in Indonesia by examining the influence of trust in the platform and trust in the seller on purchase intention. Based on Trust Transfer Theory, this study develops a model explaining how platform trust transfers to seller trust and influences purchase intention. Data were collected through a survey of 318 consumers who had transacted through social commerce platforms between December 2025 and January 2026. The analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares. The results show that trust in the platform has a positive and significant effect on trust in the seller. Trust in the seller is proven to be a major determinant of purchase intention and partially mediates the relationship between trust in the platform and purchase intention. The indirect effect through trust in the seller is greater than the direct effect of trust in the platform. These findings confirm that in Indonesian social commerce, the formation of interpersonal trust is a key mechanism linking institutional trust to purchasing behavior.
