Abstract

Technological developments in education have encouraged the use of digital media in learning, including in elementary schools. One of the innovations used is Educaplay, a gamification-based platform designed to increase student engagement in the learning process. However, the effectiveness of Educaplay in improving students' conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills still needs to be studied further. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Educaplay in primary school learning and its impact on students' conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills. This study used a qualitative approach with an exploratory descriptive design. Data were collected through interviews with teachers and students, classroom observations, and documentation studies. Data analysis was carried out using data reduction techniques, data presentation, and conclusion drawing based on the Miles and Huberman method. The results showed that the use of Educaplay was able to increase students' involvement and motivation in learning. Analysis of pretests and posttests revealed a significant increase in conceptual understanding in students who used Educaplay compared to conventional methods. In addition, the platform supports the implementation of instructional differentiation and assists teachers in monitoring student progress in real-time. However, the implementation of Educaplay faces challenges, such as limited infrastructure and teachers' lack of digital literacy. Therefore, training for educators and improving access to technology are needed to maximize the effectiveness of digital-based learning in primary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to measure the readiness to learn mathematics of grade I elementary school students through understanding the law of conservation of number. This law is an important indicator in assessing children's cognitive abilities in understanding that the number of objects remains the same despite changes in arrangement or visual form. The research approach used was qualitative with an exploratory descriptive design. Data were collected through concrete task-based assessments and interviews with class teachers of 25 grade I students in one of the public elementary schools in Tasikmalaya City. The results showed that 48% of students fully understood the concept of conservation of number, 32% showed partial understanding, and 20% did not show adequate mastery of the concept. The analysis showed that visual changes still influenced the perception of quantity in some students, indicating the dominance of preoperational thinking. The conclusion of this study shows that the law of conservation of numbers can be used as an initial assessment tool to accurately map students' readiness to learn mathematics. The results of this assessment can be the basis for designing learning strategies that are contextual, concrete, and in accordance with the stage of cognitive development of children.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze elementary school students’ understanding of fractional numbers through the application of a metacognitive-based Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach. The study employed a qualitative, descriptive approach and was conducted with second-grade students at SDN Banjarwangi. Research subjects were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through concept comprehension tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was performed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, and its validity was tested through triangulation of techniques and sources. The research results indicate that students’ understanding of fraction concepts falls into the “good” category, with an average score of 79.4%, an increase from the pre-test score of 61.2%. Most students were able to restate the concepts, classify, and represent fractions, but still had difficulty explaining the solution procedures systematically. Results from interviews and observations indicate that the use of real-world contexts in the RME approach helped students understand the concepts more concretely, while metacognitive strategies encouraged students to plan, monitor, and evaluate their thinking processes. Thus, RME- and metacognition-based mathematics learning is effective in improving students’ understanding of fraction concepts, although reinforcement is needed in the area of mathematical communication. This study recommends the integration of real-world contexts and reflective activities in learning to enhance the quality of students’ conceptual understanding.

Abstract

Dalam upaya meningkatkan kemandirian mahasiswa, diperlukan program yang menumbuhkan dan meningkatkan jiwa entrepreneurship. Program Magang Kewirausahaan pada industri yang relevan dengan bidang keterampilan yang diminati mahasiswa merupakan salah satu alternatif program yang dapat dilakukan, di antaranya program magang di industri yang diminati mahasiswa dan dapat dijadikan mitra kerja bagi pengembangan individu mahasiswa dan lembaga penyelenggara industri mendong yang ada di Kota Tasikmalaya. Tujuan program ini adalah menjadikan mahasiswa pemagang: (1) Mampu membuat kerajinan mendong, (2) Memahami sistem produksi pada industri mendong, sistem manajemen usaha, pemasaran hasil, dan pengelolaan SDM. (3) Mampu membuat perencanaan usaha. (4) Berani memamerkan hasil magang. (5) Berani menjual produk kerajinan. Kerangka pemecahan masalah yang digunakan dalam kegiatan untuk mencapai tujuan, menggunakan empat tahapan kegiatan, yaitu: tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan, evaluasi, dan tindak lanjut. Keberhasilan para mahasiswa dapat dilihat dari penguasaan pengetahuan, serta penguasaan sikap dan keterampilan. Penguasaan materi tersebut dapat dijadikan pijakan bagi mahasiswa untuk mengembangkan dan mengaplikasikan jiwa entrepreneurship yang dikuasainya dalam wujud usaha yang diminati.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran Jelajah Sistem Pencernaan (JESIP) pada pembelajaran IPA di sekolah dasar. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan menggunakan model ADDIE. Subjek dari  penelitian adalah  tiga orang ahli dan enam siswa sekolah dasar. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah menggunakan angket dan skala. Statistik deskriptif digunakan dalam menganalisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penilaian akumulasi rata-rata uji ahli media, ahli materi, dan ahli bahasa yang termasuk ke dalam kategori Sangat Baik dengan rata-rata perolehan nilai sebesar 90.67%. Media Media Jelajah Sistem Pencernaan Pada Manusia  (JESIP) sangat diminati oleh siswa kelas V sekolah dasar. Kategori Sangat Baik dari hasil penilaian one to one dan hasil penilaian small group memiliki rata-rata perolehan nilai sebesar 87,5% termasuk dalam kategori Sangat Baik. Dari ketiga penilaian tersebut terbukti bahwa media  Media Jelajah Sistem Pencernaan Pada Manusia  (JESIP) berbasis android yang peneliti kembangkan layak untuk digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran IPA pada materi sistem pencernaan pada manusia di Sekolah Dasar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya kemampuan peserta didik dalam kemampuan pemecahan masakah sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil analisis kemampuan peserta didik dalam pemecahan masalah terhadap soal cerita materi operasi hitung campuran bilangan cacah sehingga hal ini berguna sebagai bahan bagi guru sebagai upaya untuk dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik. Hasil analisis dapat digunakan untuk memperbaiki kualitas pembelajaran khususnya masalah matematis peserta didik di sekolah dasar. Penelitian yang digunakan yaitu menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan instrumen penelitian digunakan berupa tes diagnostik yang dilakukan pada kelas IV di salah satu SD yang berada di Kabupaten Tasikmalaya. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan menyatakan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang dimiliki peserta didik berdasarkan hasil jawaban dari tes soal cerita materi operasi hitung campuran bilangan cacah yaitu memahami masalah (83%), merencanakan pemecahan masalah (75%), menyelesaikan masalah (79%), dan mengecek kembali (95%). Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kekeliruan yang paling banyak dilakukan adalah peserta didik tidak memahami masalah sehingga ketika selesai mengerjakan soal peserta didik tidak mengecek kembali soal yang telah dikerjakan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, guru perlu merancang atau mengembangkan inovasi pembelajaran yang lebih efektif untuk meminimalisir kesalahan yang terjadi terutama kesalahan dalam memahami masalah dan mengecek kembali. Analysis of problem-solving ability of mixed arithmetic operation story problems in class IV Abstract: This study is motivated by the lack of ability of students in problem-solving ability so this study aims to determine the results of the analysis of the ability of students in problem-solving on the story problem of the mixed arithmetic operation of numerical numbers so that this is useful as a material for teachers as an effort to be able to improve the problem-solving ability of students. The results of the analysis can be used to improve the quality of learning, especially the mathematical problems of students in elementary schools. The research used is using a qualitative descriptive method with research instruments used in the form of diagnostic tests conducted in class IV in one of the elementary schools in Tasikmalaya Regency. The results of the research conducted state that the problem-solving abilities possessed by students based on the results of the answers to the story problem test on mixed counting operations of small numbers are understanding the problem (83%), planning problem-solving (75%), solving the problem (79%), and checking back (95%). So, it can be concluded that the most common mistake made is that students do not understand the problem so when they finish working on the problem students do not check back the problems that have been done. Based on the results of this study, teachers need to design or develop more effective learning innovations to minimize the errors that occur, especially errors in understanding the problem and checking back.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh banyaknya siswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami konsep perkalian bilangan cacah dan lemah dalam keterampilan berpikir aljabar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisis karakteristik hambatan belajar siswa sekolah dasar dalam keterampilan berpikir aljabar pada konsep perkalian bilangan cacah yang dilihat dari sudut pandang siswa, guru dan materi ajar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan menerapkan model Didactical Design Research (DDR). Partisipan penelitian terdiri dari 50 siswa kelas 4 dan kelas 5 dari sekolah dasar negeri di Tasikmalaya. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipatif, tes kemampuan berpikir aljabar, wawancara tidak terstruktur, dan studi dokumentasi. Penelitian mengidentifikasi tiga hambatan belajar. Pertama, hambatan ontogenik instrumental muncul saat siswa kesulitan merepresentasikan soal matematika dan melakukan perhitungan. Hambatan ontogenik konseptual tercermin dari kesulitan siswa mengenali pola penjumlahan berulang dan menghubungkannya dengan perkalian, serta hambatan ontogenik psikologis siswa ditunjukkan dalam ketegangan, kurang antusias, keraguan, dan ketidaknyamanan menyuarakan pendapat. Kedua, hambatan epistemologis tampak dari kesulitan siswa mengkomunikasikan penalaran dan pembuktian secara jelas. Ketiga, hambatan didaktis terlihat dalam pembelajaran yang kurang bermakna, pembelajaran sebatas hafalan, dan minim eksplorasi konsep
