Abstract

Teachers' perceptions of video-assisted mathematics instruction in measurement topics within flipped classroom learning models vary. This study explores teachers' perceptions of using video-assisted mathematics instruction in measurement topics in elementary schools. A case study was conducted with 30 elementary school teachers teaching in various regions in Tasikmalaya. Data collection was carried out through questionnaire dissemination and interviews as research instruments. The data analysis technique employed in this study was Interactive Analysis, which involved data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The research findings indicate that teachers' perceptions of video-assisted mathematics instruction encompassed cognitive aspects with an average score of 87.50%, affective aspects with an average score of 88.50% and psychomotor aspects with an average score of 89.50%. The results show that most teachers positively perceive using video-assisted mathematics instruction in measurement topics. Teachers state that video-assisted instruction helps students understand measurement concepts and makes learning more engaging and enjoyable for elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to discover Indonesian elementary school teachers' experiences (n = 257) of using Augmented Reality (AR) for learning, especially related to one of the topics in mathematics learning, namely, geometry. AR is considered to be an alternative instructional media that can be utilized for teaching geometry, including the topic of three-dimensional shapes. A questionnaire consisting of both close-ended and open-ended questions was used to collect data in this study. This study has successfully revealed teachers' use of digital instructional media during the COVID-19 pandemic, their familiarity with AR, frequency of AR use for geometry learning, and challenges in using it. DOI: 10.17977/jps.v11i12023p001

Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika tidak hanya sekadar memahami rumus dan menghitung angka, tetapi juga harus mampu mengajarkan siswa untuk berpikir secara rasional, faktual, dan sistematis dalam pemecahan masalah kehidupan nyata. Pendekatan Matematika Realistik (PMR) menjadi salah satu alternatif yang dapat diterapkan dalam pembelajaran matematika di sekolah dasar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa sekolah dasar dengan menggunakan pendekatan matematika realistic. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi literatur dengan mengumpulkan data dari sumber-sumber yang relevan dengan topik yang dibahas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan matematika realistik memiliki dampak positif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa sekolah dasar. Melalui pembelajaran PMR, siswa diarahkan untuk memahami matematika dengan cara yang bermakna dan relevan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari, sehingga siswa mampu mengaitkan antara matematika dan kehidupan nyata. Penelitian sebelumnya menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran PMR dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Dalam prosesnya, siswa juga dilatih untuk berpikir kreatif dan kritis dalam memecahkan masalah matematis. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan matematika realistik dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa sekolah dasar.

Abstract

This program aims to develop teachers’ competences in using and utilizing technology in the form of Augmented Reality (AR)-based media that can be used in geometry learning. This community service program is in the form of a training for elementary school teachers. This program is motivated by the results of a study which shows that of 257 teachers from 39 cities in Indonesia only 28% claimed to be familiar with AR-based media while 72% of teachers claimed not to know them, some of whom were teachers in Tasikmalaya City. Therefore, it is necessary to develop their competences so that they will know and be able to use AR-based media to adapt to the times. This training was carried out from the smallest scope, namely at an elementary school in Tasikmalaya City, SD Negeri Leuwianyar. The potential for using digital media in the school is quite high because the facilities are quite supportive. The problem was, teachers rarely used digital media, including the use of AR-based media. This training program was carried out by adapting the stages of the ADDIE model, namely Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. The results of the training showed that teachers strongly agreed that the training could develop their knowledge and encourage them to use AR-based digital media for learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh banyaknya siswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami konsep perkalian bilangan cacah dan lemah dalam keterampilan berpikir aljabar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisis karakteristik hambatan belajar siswa sekolah dasar dalam keterampilan berpikir aljabar pada konsep perkalian bilangan cacah yang dilihat dari sudut pandang siswa, guru dan materi ajar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan menerapkan model Didactical Design Research (DDR). Partisipan penelitian terdiri dari 50 siswa kelas 4 dan kelas 5 dari sekolah dasar negeri di Tasikmalaya. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipatif, tes kemampuan berpikir aljabar, wawancara tidak terstruktur, dan studi dokumentasi. Penelitian mengidentifikasi tiga hambatan belajar. Pertama, hambatan ontogenik instrumental muncul saat siswa kesulitan merepresentasikan soal matematika dan melakukan perhitungan. Hambatan ontogenik konseptual tercermin dari kesulitan siswa mengenali pola penjumlahan berulang dan menghubungkannya dengan perkalian, serta hambatan ontogenik psikologis siswa ditunjukkan dalam ketegangan, kurang antusias, keraguan, dan ketidaknyamanan menyuarakan pendapat. Kedua, hambatan epistemologis tampak dari kesulitan siswa mengkomunikasikan penalaran dan pembuktian secara jelas. Ketiga, hambatan didaktis terlihat dalam pembelajaran yang kurang bermakna, pembelajaran sebatas hafalan, dan minim eksplorasi konsep

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kemajuan teknologi pada abad ke-21 yang memiliki dampak signifikan di berbagai bidang, salah satunya bidang Pendidikan, khususnya pada proses pembelajaran. Pada proses pembelajaran diperlukan penyesuaian dengan perkembangan teknologi saat ini agar pendidikan tetap relevan dan efektif dalam mempersiapkan kompetensi generasi saat ini dalam menghadapi era revolusi industri 4.0, salah satunya pada media pembelajaran yang digunakan. Hal tersebut akan berpengaruh terhadap motivasi belajar siswa di sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan media pembelajaran matematika pada materi pecahan senilai di kelas IV sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian yang diterapkan adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran yang digunakan pada pembelajaran matematika materi pecahan senilai di kelas IV sekolah dasar, masih bersifat konvensional. Hal tersebut menyebabkan interaksi banyak didominasi oleh guru atau pembelajaran masih bersifat satu arah dari guru ke siswa. Guru mengharapkan dapat dilakukannya pengembangan media pembelajaran yang lebih inovatif dan memanfaatkan teknologi informasi sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan perkembangan abad ke-21. Penelitian ini berimplikasi pada perlunya variasi media pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif dan inovatif guna meningkatkan motivasi, keterlibatan, dan pemahaman siswa dalam proses pembelajaran atau proses konstruksi pengetahuannya.

Abstract

This research was conducted based on the rapidly advancing technology and the importance of using instructional media to stimulate students' understanding. This study aims to analyze the instructional videos for fifth grade Elementary School. The method used in this research was qualitative descriptive. The data studied were instructional  videos about fractional arithmetic operations that were available on the YouTube and ruangguru applications. The data were analyzed based on the characteristics of the audio-visual instructional media, including: 1) Video clarity; 2) Stand-alone aspect; 3) User friendly; 4) Content representation; 5) Visualization with media; 6) Using high resolution quality and 7) Can be used individually or classically. The results of this study indicated that: The content of each video was quite easy to understand and remember. Videos must be accompanied by worksheets so that students take an active role, not just watching. The language used in each video was simple, easy to understand and used common language. The material presented was quite representative and the video contained stimulation regarding arithmetic operations on fractional numbers. The material contained in the video was equipped with the voice of the presenter which was quite clear and there was also text on the video, but there was no animation. Each video used a resolution high enough to produce a clear image and this video could be used on any computer. Videos can be used individually or classically and videos can be viewed anywhere and anytime. Thus, it can be concluded that the five learning videos have almost fulfilled the characteristics of audio-visual instructional media, it's just that additional animations and worksheets are needed so that the videos can be more interesting and students can play an active role.
