Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to develop and test the validity and reliability of an assessment instrument for basic forward roll technique skills in elementary school students. The research procedures included a preliminary study through needs analysis and literature review, designing an instrument grid based on five main technical components, content validation by five experts using the Content Validity Index (CVI), and field trials on 60 students. Data were analyzed using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) for construct validity, Cronbach's Alpha for internal reliability, and Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) for inter-rater reliability. The results showed that the instrument had an average CVI value of 0.92, factor loading > 0.70, Cronbach's Alpha 0.91, and ICC 0.87, indicating a very high level of validity and reliability. This instrument was declared suitable for use as an objective evaluation tool for floor gymnastics skills in elementary schools. Keywords: validity, reliability, instrument, forward roll   Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan dan menguji validitas serta reliabilitas instrumen penilaian keterampilan teknik dasar roll depan pada siswa sekolah dasar. Prosedur penelitian meliputi studi pendahuluan melalui analisis kebutuhan dan kajian literatur, perancangan kisi-kisi instrumen berdasarkan lima komponen teknik utama, validasi isi oleh lima ahli menggunakan Content Validity Index (CVI), serta uji coba lapangan terhadap 60 siswa. Data dianalisis menggunakan Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) untuk uji validitas konstruk, Cronbach’s Alpha untuk reliabilitas internal, dan Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) untuk reliabilitas antar-penilai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan instrumen memiliki nilai CVI rata-rata 0,92, factor loading > 0,70, Cronbach’s Alpha 0,91, dan ICC 0,87, menandakan tingkat validitas dan reliabilitas yang sangat tinggi. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to develop and evaluate the validity and reliability of a soccer passing skill assessment instrument for elementary school students. Passing skills are a fundamental component in physical education learning; however, contextually relevant and psychometrically tested instruments remain limited. The research employed a modified Research and Development (R&D) approach based on the Borg and Gall model, consisting of seven stages from needs analysis to final product development. Content validity was assessed using the Content Validity Index (CVI), construct validity through Exploratory and Confirmatory Factor Analyses (EFA and CFA), and reliability using the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC), test–retest, and Cronbach’s alpha. The results showed S-CVI = 0.92, CFI = 0.95, RMSEA = 0.054, ICC = 0.91, and α = 0.86, indicating high validity and reliability. The game-based assessment instrument includes three key dimensions technical, tactical, and procedural and is relevant for authentic assessment in elementary physical education learning. Keywords: soccer passing, instrument validity, authentic assessment   Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan dan menguji validitas serta reliabilitas instrumen penilaian keterampilan passing sepak bola untuk siswa Sekolah Dasar (SD). Keterampilan passing merupakan dasar penting dalam pembelajaran PJOK, namun belum tersedia instrumen yang kontekstual dan teruji secara psikometrik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Research and Development (R&D) model Borg and Gall yang dimodifikasi melalui tujuh tahap, mulai dari analisis kebutuhan hingga penyusunan produk akhir. Validitas isi diuji menggunakan Content Validity Index (CVI), validitas konstruk dengan Exploratory dan Confirmatory Factor Analysis (EFA dan CFA), serta reliabilitas melalui Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC), test–retest, dan Cronbach’s alpha. Abstract

This study aims to investigate and analyze the adaptation of teaching and learning processes in the Covid-19 era, focusing on the implementation and effectiveness of various technological tools and strategies. A qualitative research method was employed, utilizing observations and questionnaires to garner insights. A total of 232 respondents participated, predominantly comprising senior high school students from Kuningan District. The primary objective is to explore how educational institutions have innovated teaching and learning methodologies, emphasizing the utilization of technology, particularly WhatsApp, as a medium for facilitating education during the Covid-19 pandemic. Through a qualitative approach, the study utilized observations and questionnaires as instrumental tools for data collection. The findings revealed that online learning has emerged as a robust model in enhancing teaching and learning experiences across different educational stages, from early childhood to higher educational institutions. WhatsApp has been highlighted as a prevalent application, enabling teachers and students to navigate the challenges posed by the pandemic in the educational domain. Based on the findings, the study concludes that continuous inventive strategies are essential in teaching to adapt to changing scenarios and effectively respond to classroom needs. Furthermore, the integration of technology, like WhatsApp, in educational practices proves to be a valuable asset in overcoming the pandemic-induced challenges in education.

Abstract

Community service activities carried out by STKIP Muhammadiyah Kuningan present downstream science and technology through programs directly to the community in Puncak Village, Cigugur District. The purpose of this community service activity is to carry out the Islamic (Islamic Religious Education) field program based on the results of a situation analysis and requests from the community. The method of community service activities uses focus group discussions (FGD) both internally as a Community Service Team (PKM) and with the Puncak Village community. The results of community service activities from the program that have been carried out consist of Islamic boarding school activities with character-building material (akhlaq), reading and writing the Koran. The history of Islamic culture (history of the Prophet Muhammad SAW), guidance on the Mosque Youth Association (IRMAS) with the material studied regarding the organization, learning, and public speaking, the implementation of other programs is counseling on the dangers of drugs for the younger generation, and the tadarus bada program for tarawih prayers in the holy month of Ramadan. Further PKM activities are sought to collaborate with related institutions or agencies to help alleviate/resolve existing problems in the village.

Abstract

The kangkang jump is one of the basic movements in artistic gymnastics, which is the primary focus of this research. Observations conducted at school revealed that the material related to the kangkang jump was not delivered effectively by the teacher due to inadequate facilities required for the learning process. As a result, students exhibited poor kangkang jumping skills, stiff movements, and a lack of confidence due to fear of failure. This study aims to improve students' kangkang jumping skills through a game-based approach. The research employed an experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population included all 140 students in grade V at SDN 2 Ciherang, Kadugede District, for the 2023/2024 academic year, with a research sample of 23 students selected through purposive random sampling. The instrument used was a kangkang jump skill assessment test. Data analysis was conducted using a normality test, which indicated that the pretest data (sig = 0.305) and posttest data (sig = 0.27) were normally distributed. A homogeneity test was conducted with sig = 0.451, and a paired sample t-test hypothesis test showed significant results with sig = 0.00. The results of the study demonstrated that the application of a game-based approach in learning significantly improved students' kangkang jumping skills. Future research on learning the kangkang jump can be conducted by integrating technology as an innovation of the Industrial Revolution 4.0.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan passing dalam permainan bola voli pada siswa, yang disebabkan oleh pemahaman yang kurang tentang teknik passing dan kurang optimalnya pelatihan yang diberikan oleh guru. Guru cenderung memberikan contoh secara menyeluruh tanpa fokus pada pembelajaran yang terstruktur, sehingga keakuratan passing menjadi kurang tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan passing bawah dalam permainan bola voli melalui penerapan pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis masalah. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen dengan desain pra-tes dan pasca-tes pada satu kelompok. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 34 siswa kelas VIII B, yang diambil secara acak dari populasi 102 siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 1 Selajambe, Kabupaten Kuningan, menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Tes kemampuan passing bola voli digunakan sebagai alat pengukuran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis masalah secara signifikan dapat meningkatkan keterampilan passing siswa. Pemecahan masalah dalam proses pembelajaran membantu siswa menetapkan target yang lebih spesifik, yang pada akhirnya meningkatkan ketepatan dan keefektifan dalam melakukan passing. Penelitian selanjutnya diharapkan dapat mengintegrasikan teknologi sebagai inovasi dalam pembelajaran bola voli untuk lebih meningkatkan keterampilan siswa.

Abstract

Education plays an important role in developing students' knowledge, skills, and learning motivation. However, conventional learning methods that rely heavily on lectures and textbooks often make students feel bored and less engaged in the learning process. Therefore, the integration of technology in learning is needed to create a more interactive and engaging learning environment. This study aims to examine the implementation of the Kahoot learning media in teaching the topic of Indonesian archipelago, as well as its effect on students' technological literacy and learning motivation. This research used a mixed methods approach with a sequential explanatory design, combining quantitative and qualitative methods. The research was conducted at Sanggar Bimbingan At-Tanzil Putra Kajang, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, involving nine third-grade students as research subjects selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using pretest and posttest, questionnaires, and interviews with the class teacher. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired sample t-test with the help of SPSS, while qualitative data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that the implementation of Kahoot in learning can create a more interactive and enjoyable learning atmosphere, making students more active and enthusiastic in participating in the lesson. The findings also indicate an increase in students’ learning outcomes, with the average score rising from 4.11 in the pretest to 8.89 in the posttest. The paired sample t-test result shows a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant effect of Kahoot on students’ learning outcomes. In addition, the use of Kahoot contributes to improving students’ learning motivation and technological literacy. Therefore, Kahoot can be considered an effective digital learning medium to support interactive and technology-based learning.

Abstract

Karate is a martial art from Japan. Karate should not only focus on physical abilities and techniques. It also plays an important role in developing authentic life skills, especially for young karate practitioners. Objectives: The objective of this study is to explore how karate as a martial art can be used as a means of developing life skills for young karate practitioners. Methods: The research method used is a narrative literature review, which aims to provide information and knowledge through the analysis of previously published literature. The participants are documents in the form of relevant articles from 2021 to 2025, with criteria including being written in Indonesian and English. The data analysis technique used is thematic narrative analysis. Results: Ten relevant articles were identified as research findings. Specifically, the results indicate that structured and programmed karate training can optimize interpersonal and intrapersonal life skills such as motivation, respect, cooperation, sportsmanship, discipline, responsibility, and empathy. These skills are closely aligned with the values of bushido in karate. However, there are challenges in internalizing such character traits, including the perception that karate is associated with violent activities, varying quality of instructors, and competitive pressure that causes anxiety. Conclusion: It is concluded that karate is an effective medium for developing character values and life skills for young karateka, but this requires a holistic and comprehensive approach.
