Abstract

One disease that affects school-aged children is Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI). Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) can be caused by various causative agents, such as viruses, bacteria, or even fungi; air pollution from smoke or gas can also cause Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI). The method used in preparing this article is a literature review. Article or journal searches were conducted on five databases: Mendeley, PubMed, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, and Garuda. The keywords used in Mendeley, Google Scholar, and Garuda were "Faktor Risiko ISPA” AND “Anak", while PubMed and ScienceDirect used "risk factor" AND "acute respiratory infection" AND "child". Several risk factors exist for Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) in children in urban areas. Environmental factors such as roofing, ventilation, and occupancy density are the risk factors for Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) in urban school-aged children. Then, there are individual factors where age, gender, and other congenital diseases also affect the occurrence of ARI in children.

Abstract

The prevalence of obesity in adolescents has significantly increased from 8% in 1990 to 20% in 2022. The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that more than 390 million children and adolescents aged 5 to 19 years are affected by obesity. This study aims to identify risk factors contributing to obesity in adolescents and is expected to help them avoid behaviors that could potentially lead to obesity. This literature review study utilizes the PRISMA guidelines and databases such as Google Scholar, Garuda, MDPI, PubMed, and ScienceDirect. Articles were searched using keywords in both Indonesian and English, such as "risk factors for adolescent obesity," "risk factor," "obesity," and "adolescent," for publications from 2021 to 2024, in accordance with predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Based on the review of 10 articles, it was found that risk factors influencing obesity in adolescents include genetic factors, gender, physical activity, parental income, eating habits, knowledge, and stress levels. Physical activity is the dominant factor influencing obesity in adolescents. Therefore, optimal interventions are needed to prevent obesity in adolescents, including programs to increase physical activity and family support to promote healthy eating habits.

Abstract

Abstract

The prevalence of presenteeism among female employees is higher than among male workers due to greater pressure to perform. This condition can lead to musculoskeletal pain, poor mental health, sleep difficulties, depression, and burnout. This study aimed to analyze the association between individual factors and work-related factors with presenteeism behavior among female workers at PT Bank BNI. The study used a cross-sectional study design with a population of 110 female workers. The sampling technique used a saturated sampling technique with the entire population as the sample. Data were collected through online questionnaires of individual characteristics questionnaires, QEEW questionnaires, job insecurity questionnaires, Co-Worker Support Scale questionnaires, and SPS-6 questionnaires. Data analysis included univariate, bivariate, and multivariate. Bivariate analysis used the chi-square test and simple logistic regression test, while multivariate analysis used multiple logistic regression tests. The results of bivariate analysis indicated a significant association between age (p = 0.026), marital status (p = 0.045), and tenure (p = 0.049) with presenteeism behavior. The multivariate analysis identified education level as the most dominant variable (POR = 4.847). This study concluded that younger age, married status, and shorter tenure influence presenteeism behavior among female workers at PT Bank BNI, with higher education level as the dominant variable. Therefore, companies should consider providing training or workshops on presenteeism and implementing paid sick leave policies to prevent presenteeism behavior and increase work productivity.

Abstract

Bus drivers are among the occupational groups at high risk of experiencing work-related fatigue, which is a major contributing factor to traffic accidents. This study aims to identify factors associated with work fatigue among urban Damri bus drivers in the Jabodetabek area. A cross-sectional design was used in this study. This study included 98 drivers who met the eligibility criteria. There were two factors that caused fatigue examined in this study, namely internal factors (age, marital status, education level, smoking habits, nutritional status, alcohol consumption, caffeine consumption, and sleep quality) and external factors (mental workload, length of service, working hours, and work stress). Data were collected using standardized instruments: the Swedish Occupational Fatigue Inventory (SOFI) to measure fatigue levels, the Perceived Stress Scale-10 (PSS-10) for work stress, NASA-TLX for mental workload, and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) for sleep quality. Bivariate analysis was conducted using the chi-square test. The results showed that 45.9% of respondents experienced moderate levels of work fatigue. Caffeine consumption (p=0.042) and work stress (p=0.001) were significantly associated with work fatigue. Meanwhile, factors such as age, marital status, education level, nutritional status, alcohol consumption, smoking habits, sleep quality, mental workload, working hours, and years of service were not significantly associated. Caffeine consumption and work stress were key contributors to work fatigue among drivers, while other factors showed no significant association. It is recommended that the company implement stress management programs and regulate caffeine consumption among drivers.
