Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between perceptions of parental expectations and fear of failure among students at SMA Negeri 17 Makassar. The sample in this study was 280 Makassar State High School students. This research uses a quantitative approach with the Spearman rho analysis technique. The results of the analysis obtained a significance value of 0.00 (p < 0.05) which shows that there is a relationship between perceptions of parental expectations and fear of failure in students at SMA Negeri 17 Makassar. The correlation value (r) obtained was 0.330, indicating that the correlation is positive, which means that the higher the perception of parental expectations, the higher the fear of failure. Students who perceive their parents' expectations as high will easily feel anxious due to fear of failure, while students who perceive their parents' expectations as low will not easily feel anxious so they will not experience fear of failure. It is hoped that the results of this research can contribute to the fields of developmental psychology and educational psychology and become a reference source that can provide information regarding the relationship between perceptions of parental expectations and students' fear of failure.

Abstract

Gangguan autisme pada anak menjadi kabar sedih bagi ibu. Ibu dengan kesedihan yang mendalam dan berlangsung dalam jangka waktu yang lama dapat menyebabkan stres namun ibu yang memiliki harapan dapat bangkit dari kesedihannya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengalaman harapan ibu dalam mengasuh anak autisme. Responden pada penelitian ini adalah enam ibu yang mengasuh anak dengan gangguan autisme. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Data dikumpulkan dengan wawancara dan dianalisis menggunakan Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis. Hasil penelitian ini adalah keenam ibu mengasuh anak dengan melakukan berbagai cara untuk mengatasi gangguan anak seperti terapi, diet, konsul ke dokter, dan sekolah. Setiap ibu menghadapi kesulitan utama yang sama masalah pada komunikasi dan interaksi anak. Dalam proses mengasuh anak dengan gangguan autisme, ibu merasa up and down karena perkembangan anak yang kadang lambat, kadang terlihat tidak memiliki kemajuan bahkan kadang mengalami kemunduran setelah anak sakit. Ibu yang belum menerima anak mengalami gangguan autisme akan mempertahankan anaknya dapat berkembang seperti anak reguler namun ketika ibu sudah menerima maka harapan utamanya adalah kemandirian anak. Perkembangan anak yang tidak menentu membuat ibu membangun harapan sesuai dengan kemampuan anak. Ibu memaknai harapan sebagai pemicu tetap belajar dan bersabar untuk mendapatkan keinginan. Implikasi penelitian ini yaitu sebagai tambahan wawasan dalam proses mengasuh untuk tetap menjaga harapan realistis terhadap perkembangan anak.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the experiences of mothers adapting after receiving a Down Syndrome (DS) diagnosis for their child. Utilizing a Heideggerian phenomenological approach, data was collected through in-depth interviews with 10 mothers of children with DS, focusing on their emotional responses, acceptance, and hopes. The analysis identified three main themes: initial reactions to the diagnosis and the resulting loss of hope, the process of acceptance, and managing hopes while adapting to the child's condition. The findings reveal the complex journey mothers undergo in restructuring their emotions and thoughts, underscoring the importance of diagnostic confirmation, social support, and spiritual beliefs in the acceptance process. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of mothers’ experiences following a DS diagnosis and offers insights for health professionals and support systems to better assist families during this critical period. The theme of “reframing hopes” emerged as central, facilitating mothers’ ability to adjust and maintain hope for their children’s futures.

Abstract

Early marital adjustment is very difficult to endure, especially for women who have been forced to marry because they were arranged in early-age. This research aims to determine dynamics of early marital adjustment in in early-age women in arranged marriages. The method used is a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The data was collected through in-depth interviews with four women who were married before the age of 18 and had been married for more than 10 years. Data analysis is conducted through four stages: epoche, phenomenological reduction, imaginative variation, and synthesis of meaning and essences. The result found that woman who arranged marriage in early-age generally experienced the dynamics of early marital adjustment through the five stages. Denial is shown through feelings of shock, sadness, fear, and rejection of marriage. Anger is shown through a decline in physical condition. Bargaining is shown through seeking help. Depression is shown through resignation and indifference towards marriage. Acceptance is influenced by supporting factors, namely the behavior and attitude of the husband, parents, carrying out the role of a wife, trying to convince oneself, readiness to become a parent, adjusting to the husband's family, fulfilling household needs, maintaining communication, and lowering the ego. The inhibiting factors are being unprepared for marriage and age differences with the husband. In the end, the respondents melted and began to accept their husbands due to the kindness, patience, and affection shown by them. The respondents have started to find happiness in their marriages. The implication of this research is that it is hoped that it can increase knowledge regarding the dynamics of early marital adjustment in in early-age women in arranged marriages.

Abstract

Migrant students who experience a transition to a new environment will face various anxieties while overseas, one of which is the emergence of feelings of loneliness. This research aims to determine the relationship between self-esteem and loneliness in migrant students. The subjects in this research were 276 migrant students studying in the city of Makassar. The sampling technique used was incidental sampling technique. This research uses the Spearman Rho correlation analysis technique. The results of data analysis obtained a significance value (p = 0.001 < 0.005) with a correlation coefficient value (r = -0.546). The results of the analysis show that there is a negative relationship between self-esteem and loneliness in migrant students. The higher the self-esteem, the lower the equality for migrant students, conversely, the lower the self-esteem, the higher the equality for migrant students. This research can provide a basis for the development of psychological intervention programs aimed at increasing self-esteem and reducing levels of loneliness in migrant students.

Abstract

Parents who have children with special needs tend to reject when they first find out that their children are diagnosed with special needs, on the one hand parents who have confidence in caring for their children make it easy to get to the stage of self-acceptance. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between parenting self-efficacy and self-acceptance of parents who have children with autism spectrum disorder in Makassar City. This study used Spearman Rho correlation analysis technique. Respondents in this study were 146 subjects obtained using accidental sampling technique. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between parenting self-efficacy and self-acceptance in parents (r = 0.809, p = 0.000 <0.05) indicating that the higher the parenting self-efficacy score, the higher the self-acceptance in parents who have children with special needs. This research can be a reference for parents who have children with special needs to be able to improve parenting self-efficacy and self-acceptance. Suggestions for future researchers to pair self-acceptance variables with other variables to see other factors that have a greater relationship to self-acceptance, as well as using other methods in data analysis or the research implementation process. The implication of this research is an understanding of the need for parents who have children with special needs to increase parenting self-efficacy and self-acceptance, so that they can have a positive influence in the form of proper care for children with special needs so that children grow and develop into better individuals for the future.

Abstract

Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan memberdayakan keluarga individu berkebutuhan khusus melalui pelatihan pengolahan sampah buah. Peserta, terutama ibu-ibu, dilatih mengolah sampah buah menjadi eco enzyme yang memiliki berbagai manfaat dan nilai ekonomis. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa peserta berhasil mempelajari teknik pembuatan eco enzyme dan aplikasinya sebagai pupuk organik, bahan dasar sabun cuci pakaian, sabun cuci piring, dan cairan pembersih lantai. Metode pengolahan yang sederhana memungkinkan para ibu mengajarkan keterampilan ini kepada anak-anak mereka yang berkebutuhan khusus, membuka peluang pengembangan kemandirian ekonomi keluarga. Program ini tidak hanya berkontribusi pada pengurangan limbah organik, tetapi juga mempromosikan pemberdayaan ekonomi dan inklusivitas. Keberhasilan pelatihan ini mendemonstrasikan potensi pengolahan sampah buah sebagai sarana pemberdayaan bagi keluarga dengan individu berkebutuhan khusus, menciptakan manfaat ganda berupa pengelolaan limbah yang efektif dan peningkatan kapasitas ekonomi keluarga. Keberlanjutan program dapat dicapai melalui transfer keterampilan antar generasi, mendorong partisipasi aktif seluruh anggota keluarga dalam kegiatan produktif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran perilaku agresi antar komunitas suporter PSM Makassar dan dampak dari perilaku agresi tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Proses pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Adapun informan yang diwawancari dalam penelitian ini adalah suporter dari komunitas suporter PSM Makassar yang pernah terlibat perilaku agresi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perilaku agresi antar komunitas suporter PSM Makassar muncul dalam empat bentuk, yaitu agresi fisik (berupa lemparan air gelas, lemparan batu, pengeroyokan, dan saling pukul), agresi verbal (berupa adu mulut dan hate comment), rasa marah (berupa bersorak dan turun ke lapangan), dan permusuhan (pembingkaian di media sosial). Perilaku agresi bisa berdampak pada berbagai pihak, antara lain pada diri suporter sendiri, komunitas suporter, dan masyarakat sekitar stadion. Dampak perilaku agresi antara komunitas suporter PSM Makassar terhadap diri suporter adalah shock, was-was, perasaan takut, dan merasa terancam. Dampak perilaku agresi antar komunitas suporter PSM Makassar terhadap komunitas suporter adalah citra menjadi buruk. Sedangkan dampak perilaku agresi antar komunitas suporter bagi masyarakat sekitar stadion adalah berkurangnya penghasilan tambahan masyarakat sekitar stadion. Hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi referensi tambahan dalam penelitian yang berkaitan dengan keperilakuan suporter PSM Makassar.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to explore the dynamics of online learning in Indonesia and reflect on the effectiveness of the teaching and learning processes. A question of interest is: How have people adapted to these changes? This was investigated via a systematic literature review (SLR), which involved 30 journal articles. Google Scholar was the source of these articles. The literature review reveals that teacher and lecturer readiness, student independence, availability of facilities, and parental support are the principal factors in determining the effectiveness of online learning across all education levels. The adaptation process is marked by deliberate attempts to enhance teaching skills (from teachers and lecturers), undergo the learning process (from students and university students), provide online learning facilities (from education providers such as schools and colleges), and offer support (from parents). Failure to adapt to any of these parties could potentially create issues that affect the effectiveness of online learning. The findings of this research can serve as a foundation for initiating programs aimed at improving the quality of online learning in Indonesia. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dinamika pembelajaran online di Indonesia dan merefleksikan efektivitas proses belajar mengajar. Pertanyaan yang menarik adalah: Bagaimana masyarakat beradaptasi terhadap perubahan ini? Hal ini diselidiki melalui tinjauan literatur sistematis (SLR), yang melibatkan 30 artikel jurnal. Google Cendekia adalah sumber artikel ini. Tinjauan literatur mengungkapkan bahwa kesiapan guru dan dosen, kemandirian siswa, ketersediaan fasilitas, dan dukungan orang tua merupakan faktor utama dalam menentukan efektivitas pembelajaran daring di semua jenjang pendidikan. Proses adaptasi ditandai dengan upaya yang disengaja untuk meningkatkan keterampilan mengajar (dari guru dan dosen), menjalani proses pembelajaran (dari pelajar dan mahasiswa), menyediakan fasilitas pembelajaran online (dari penyelenggara pendidikan seperti sekolah dan perguruan tinggi), dan menawarkan dukungan (dari orang tua). Kegagalan beradaptasi dengan salah satu pihak tersebut berpotensi menimbulkan permasalahan yang mempengaruhi efektivitas pembelajaran online. Temuan penelitian ini dapat menjadi landasan untuk memulai program yang bertujuan meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran online di Indonesia.

Abstract

Penurunan kemampuan dalam membuat keputusan atau decision fatigue menjadi fenomena di kalangan fresh graduate yang memasuki dunia kerja. Ketidakmampuan untuk membuat keputusan secara efektif dapat mempengaruhi kesejahteraan psikologis dan profesional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi penyebab, dampak, dan cara fresh graduate mengatasi decision fatigue dalam konteks kehidupan setelah kelulusan dan transisi karier. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi yang bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi secara mendalam pengalaman fresh graduate dalam mengalami decision fatigue. Penelitian mengumpulkan data dari 3 responden yang merupakan sarjana fresh graduate berusia 21-24 tahun, yang telah menghadapi keputusan penting terkait pekerjaan atau pendidikan. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara semi-terstruktur, observasi, dan analisis dokumen pribadi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa decision fatigue pada fresh graduate hadir akibat pengambilan keputusan yang terus-menerus, yang mengakibatkan kelelahan mental, emosional, dan fisik. Dampaknya meliputi penurunan kualitas keputusan, kecenderungan impulsif, dan penghindaran keputusan. Untuk mengatasinya, terdapat strategi seperti mengatur rutinitas, mencari dukungan sosial, melakukan refleksi, serta beristirahat atau melakukan aktivitas menyenangkan. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan penting bagi pendidik dan perusahaan dalam merancang program orientasi dan dukungan yang efektif untuk membantu fresh graduate mengatasi decision fatigue dan membuat keputusan karier yang lebih optimal.
